Great work, Thomas! I’m trying to shorten the duration of the slideshow transitions to create a much faster slideshow sequence. I’ve tried altering the layers you mentioned in the YouTube tutorial to shorten, rather than lengthen, the composition. I’ve sent you an email as well. Thanks!
Hello. I just replied to your email, if you don’t receive that please let me know!
Hello, Thomas I need your help, cnat use the tool kit because when I Play the action in PS, pops up all the time this error messages:
The command “Select” is not currently available. The object “layer “brush”” is not currently available. The command “Feather” is not currently available. The command “Set” is not currently available. The command “Smooth” is not currently available. The command “Clear Styles” is not currently available. ECC….
And all the time in the end the pic is in BW. Can you please tell me where is the mistaque?
Hello, check out our FAQ page here, it discusses the ‘Select’ error and the troubleshooting steps to fix that. The rest of the errors typically derive from the first error, so try these out and let me know if that solves the issue: https://videohive.net/item/watercolor-motion-kit/17286607/support
Thanks Thomas I think we resolved 50% of the problem but still pops out just 2 errors:
The command “Fill” is not currently available. The command “Set” is not currently available.
Any advices?
Give those steps a try and let me know if that solves the issue!
Hello Thomas, everything works now till i don’t use a resolution out of the standard. I have a project that must be 5184×432 so when I play the action in PS I recive all the errors I had before. Any solution in mind?
Hello. In that case, I’d recommend simply making it a standard resolution, then cropping the results to fit your final resolution.
Hello Thomas, Im sorry but works only if I apply it on a normal pics and not on a graphic made by me with specific resolution… Please I need help!
Hello, could you send screenshots to support@thomaskovar.com, this particular issue sounds like I’d need to be able to see the issue in order to help out!
Can you please post a change log of the updates, it is good to know what was updated…
Hello. Sure, I’ll get that added this week! There haven’t been any major updates since the launch, other than a few small bug fixes, but I’ll be sure to include those as well as any others in the future.
Thank you for the reply Sir. I admire your work very much. Some of them my CPU don’t keep up. But I love to watch, very creative and high quality on finishing details
I am using the CC 2017 version, and am having problems in After Effects.
Wile it worked okay the other day when I tried to make a logo sting, now I keep getting the following error:
“Error: After Effects error: Unable to call “setValueAtTime” because of parameter 2. Value 0.87 out of range 0 to 0.83.”
I am still a bit new to After Effects, and don’t know what it is trying to state. Any thoughts about how to fix this? Thanks.
Hello. Are you using the latest version of the product (v1.3)? I think we have this issue resolved in the latest version, so try updating and see if that solves the issue! If it persists, please let me know and we’ll get to the bottom of it immediately.
Sorry, I thought I had already replied to your question. Yes, I do have the latest v1.3; I even removed the files from my computer, and re-downloaded/installed the files thereafter, and ran into the same problem. I am not sure if it’s something wrong with the logo I prepared in PS, but if it helps at all, I can email you the file that I was using when the problem occurred.
Hello. Yes, why don’t you send over the logo prepared in PS and I’ll see if I can recreate the issue on my end. Just send over the psd and any details to support@thomaskovar.com and I’ll look into it right away!
I am using the CC 2017 version and it did not work correctly. My version is in English and during the execution of the action several errors were alerted, such as non-existent command errors, for example.
Hello. When you receive an error, the first error is the important one to note, as the subsequent errors typically derive from the first one. Check out our FAQ page for the project, it features the most common errors and their troubleshooting solutions: https://videohive.net/item/watercolor-motion-kit/17286607/support
I have followed the video instructions to the T. I have installed the brushes, made a done a second layer and named it brush. I painted ob the brush layer with different opacities. I start the action and get the popup message saying “The command Select is currently not available” It happens for every step, and the action never finishes. Please help me!
Hello. The ‘Select’ error is pretty common, we’ve put together a troubleshooting guide for it and other common errors here: https://videohive.net/item/watercolor-motion-kit/17286607/support .
Give that a look and let me know that solves the issue! If not, please reach out directly at support@thomaskovar.com and we’ll get to the bottom of it right away!
Great work but… did you see In Memoriam from The Oscar Awards 2015? What do you think about it?
Thank you! No, I hadn’t seen that video before, but I think it’s also another great example of the watercolor effect!
... not only, especially the crosshatches. See e-mail.
This kit is amazing! I have purchased quite a few Photoshop Actions from SevenStyles but this was my first Motion Kit. I am a complete AfterEffects noob and I was able to produce flawless results on the first try. Thomas offered incredible one-on-one support to help me with customizing my clips. He answered my email in less than 24 hours in patient and full detail. I am so excited with my new effects and can’t wait to make more watercolor videos!p. Thanks, Thomas!
Hi Thomas, I’m using PS 2017 (engl version). I can’t install the the bruhes like you describe it in your video. Do you have any idea, why? greets, holger
Hello, I just replied to your email!
Hi. I can run the watercolor action ok but when running the motion kit exporter I receive the error “The command “IF” is currently not available”. I am using CS6 extended. Any suggestions??
Hello,
Unfortunately, CS6 Extended is not supported. The exporter requires CS6.1 or newer.
You can always download the trial version of the Adobe CC subscription, which grants you access for free for 30 days.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out anytime at support@thomaskovar.com. Thanks!
Awesome work my friend!!! Fantastic!!!
Thank you!
Very stylish work!
Thank you!
Will this also work in portrait mode 1080×1920 pixel?
Hello,
Technically, it is possible, but not supported. The problem is that video is, by modern standards, set up to be widescreen (16×9). You’ll run into the ‘vertical video’ problem, where even if your video is exported out using vertical dimensions, playback on most devices will still default to widescreen, so you’ll end up getting black bars on your playback
That being said, what you could do is just rotate your layer in Photoshop before exporting it out using the ‘Motion Kit Exporter’ 90 degrees, bring it into AE, render it out (at 1920×1080), then rotate it back 90 degrees in a video editing program like Premiere Pro or Final Cut.
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Okay its actually for motionposter production, and thats in vertical mode.
but it sounds like it can be done, as long as i not using the drip effect, since that would properly look a little bit weird running sideways.
Hello… this tool is really GREAT! I have a question when I use this tool. I have followed your guideline and completed the watercolor photoshop motion successfully. When I try to use the brush tool to reveal more details about the original photo, I can’t get it done.
I am referring to your tutorial video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8NQaku4b2E) at about 6min43sec. I am using Photoshop CC 2017.0.1
I have selected the layer “Reveal Normal Photo (Brush Mask)” and try using the brush tool to draw on the part that I want to reveal more. But it seems that nothing has changed. Is there any tricks on this issue? Thanks!
Hello! It’s hard to say for sure, but I’m guessing what’s happening is you are brushing on the layer itself, and not the layer mask (the black box beside the thumbnail of the image).
After re-watching that section I skip over mentioning that you need to select the mask thumbnail, so I’m sorry about that!
Give that a try and let me know if that works for you!
Thanks for your reply. I finally did it successfully. This motion kit is really awesome! Thanks!
Great, I’m glad you got it working! If you run into any other issues, don’t hesitate to reach out anytime – either here, on my author profile page or directly at support@thomaskovar.com.
Also, when you are finished with your project, would you be interested in rating the project? If you’d rather not, that’s ok, but if you would I would really appreciate it! It’s really fast, just log into Videohive, on the top-right click on your username, then from the dropdown select ‘Downloads’. Within that section, you can rate the project.
Thanks again!
Hi Thomas, I’m running PSCS6.2 on PC. I’ve run the Watercolor action without a problem and installed the correct files into AE. When I try to run the Motion Kit Exporter it gets to the first “If” under “Export” (Don’t touch) and I get the “The command “if” is not currently available….please help?
Hello, we have this particular issue listed on our FAQ for the product, you can check that out here: https://videohive.net/item/watercolor-motion-kit/17286607/support.
Check that out and see if any of those troubleshooting methods solves the issue. If not, please message me at support@thomaskovar.com!
Dear Thomas! Is it possible to use your kit for a commercial music video? If so, which license do I have to buy? I connot figure it out by reading trough the decriptions. Thank you!
Hello, yes you can use the kit for a music video, and the regular ‘Tools’ license will work just fine for you.
Thank You!
A true gentleman, a pleasure to do business with a such a fantastic product, I look forward to doing business again someday. Thank You. Dave
Thank you!
Hi Thomas, I bought this action for a project where I wanted to do a slow reveal of a watercolour image over the course of 2 minutes and 15 seconds. I was really really excited after completing the photoshop section of the action. But after rendering the after effects side, I couldn’t believe how fast it went. I’ve watched your video tutorial, and tried my absolute best to move the hidden layers to suit my needs. But doing so breaks the effect. Is there any way to make this happen? This project is the sole reason I bought your product, so I’d really appreciate some help.
Hello. Let’s see, my first thought is to make sure you use the standard reveal, not the slideshow reveal since the standard reveal is about twice as long as the slideshow reveal.
It sounds like you figured out how to adjust the matte layers to extend the effect, but you mentioned it’s breaking the effect – can you expand on that? I’m guessing you mean there are just long gaps from one reveal portion of the effect to another.
One option you have available is time-remapping the final result, but I’m afraid that would only work for a slight increase, not 2 minutes like you’re looking for.
The more I think about it, I really don’t think the kit can be extended for a 2+ minute reveal without some serious editing. You would need to customize most, if not all, of the actual mattes which I would only recommend an advanced AE user even attempt edit.
If the project file isn’t going to work for you, just message me at support@thomaskovar.com and we can start the process of getting you a refund.
Thanks!
Hi Thomas,
I just purchased the kit. It looks great! I am trying to customize a few things:
1. I altered my photoshop layers (in photoshop) after I ran the watercolor action, but I didn’t change any layer names or remove any layers. I only changed opacity, and some tones in some layers—but when I ran the export action it disregarded and reverted my changes back to the original default watercolor action set. Is there a way around that ? I’d like to customize the look of the watercolor first in photoshop, before I run the export action.
2. Is it possible to remove the drop into each watercolor spread ? I just wanted to remove the way each watercolor splotch enters into the frame, revealing it slowly like an ink bleed rather than a drip that lands on the paper. I see that those are MP4’s and I’m wondering if I alter or replace them, would it
Hello,
Sorry for the late response, I was away for Thanksgiving holiday and this is the first chance I’ve had to respond to my emails!
The altered layers in Photoshop should be reflected in the layers outputted by the Motion Kit Exporter, but once the exporter has finished, it reverts back to a save point before running the action – I’d suggest saving a separate copy of the PSD before running the exporter action, that should solve the issue!
Regarding the watercolor spread, you are correct, you could replace the mp4’s with custom ones – this can get into more advanced editing though, so I would only attempt this if you are comfortable working with After Effect.
If you have any other questions, please let me know!
Thomas when I try to run the motion kit exporter from photoshop i am getting this message the comand If is not currently available hot can i fix it?
Hello, It sounds like you are using a version of Photoshop prior to CS6.1. The Motion Kit Exporter is only supported for Adobe Photoshop CS6.1 and newer.
If you are using Photoshop CS6.1 or newer, please send me a direct message to support@thomaskovar.com and I’ll take a look at it!
