No problem – I would recommend using fonts that fit with a watercolor feel, so when researching fonts look for a more hand-drawn, organic look. If the font is too geometric, it will still reveal the same, it just won’t look as realistic.

Hello, i can’t do action because when i start action watercolor Photoshop show me the window with “the comand “Select” is not currently available (continue), then it write “The object layer brush is not currently available” – continue… what i do wrong ?
Hi Anton, The most common reason for that error is you haven’t named the brush layer “brush”, all in lowercase.

Hey Anton, it sounds like your preferences may have become corrupt in Photoshop. Check out the FAQ I linked to reset your preferences file.
Also, make sure your brush opacity is set to 100% before running the action, and that all your brush settings are set up properly (the FAQ covers brush settings that may be giving you the error).

Hello again Thomas, the PShop action is working beautifully until the export part… I am also getting the IF error with CS6 although layer is called brush and custom brushes are replaced by the ones in install file.. What can I do?
When I check the triangle in Action panel for the If action, it says “unknown” I tried updating CS6 to the latest version but it doesn’t help… 
Hello, to update to the latest version (CS6.1) you need to have an Adobe CC subscription. If you are updating CS6 without the CC subscription, you don’t have access to the latest features, including the use of the “IF” command. If you are updated to CS6.1 and still receiving this error, please message me and I’ll take a look at the error you are getting right away.
WOW. Awesome product. To be honest, I’ve used After Effects, but not much. I had an issue w/the project not showing up in the composition window for some reason. Well, I just reloaded AE, and it’s working now. I followed the written directions in the file, watched the video, and it works BEAUTIFULLY! Thank you for such a great product! This will take my work to another level.

Hi Thomas i just purchased this kit and followed the installation instructions, but when i open after effects and make my selection and then choose which image i want to replace, it starts to populate but when it gets near the end this error pops up.
Error: AfterEffects error: Unable to call “setValueAtTime” because of parameter2. Value 0.07 out of range 0 to 0.03. Error on line: 2123.
Do you know how to fix this?

Hello Thomas, my software is Photoshop CS6 version 13.0.0.0 and I am getting the command “If” is not currently available when I hit “RUN THIS ACTION” in the motion kit exporter. So I went and downloaded a trial version of Photoshop CC, and when I try the motion kit exporter, it executes fine, I hit accept but my image is not the same, it has been desaturated and a message pops up saying the command “select” is not currently available. So my guess was that all the previous layers where made in CS6, so I tried to do it all from scratch in the CC version running the watercolor actions from the CC+ folder and I get the command “select” is not currently available, I changed the image brightness, contrast etc….. but I still got the same message, doesnt matter what I do. Please help me out.

Hello, I just heard back from Sevenstyles, he replied that it’s most likely happening because you have not loaded the brushes into Photoshop before running the action (you may have loaded them in CS6, but forgot to in CC).
He mentioned also that it could be you haven’t properly named the brush layer “brush”. It has to be spelled out in all lower case.

Hello, If you are getting an error that you are missing assets it is usually because you don’t have the assets folder installed properly within the Scripts UI Panel. Make sure the (Motion Kit Assets) folder is within the Script UI Panel, NOT the ‘Watercolor’ folder. An example of this as it 11:54 in the video tutorial.
Also, be sure you have the the option ‘Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network’ selected in your preferences checked. This is demonstrated at 12:24 in the video tutorial.
One more question and I’ll This fire comes from After Effects Error: After Effects error file’drips-5.mov ‘can not be imported this mov file is damaged or unsupported. Error on line: 542 I get the error. MOV file’s all you ever can send me an email?
Hello, This sounds like a Quicktime issue. The Quicktime codec is actually required for After Effects according to the official system requirements, but for versions of AE prior to CC2015 you have to manually install Quicktime if you are not on a Mac.

If you are on Windows 10, it gets a little trickier. I recommend following the steps listed on this link: https://tommynation.com/install-quicktime-windows-10/
Also note, once you’ve installed Quicktime, you’ll need to restart After Effects.
Hi Thomas, I keep getting “command “smooth” is currently unavailable” for several time, continued with “command “Make” is currently unavailable and ended with “Could not stroke the layer because there is nothing to stroke.” during the PS action

Hello, it’s most likely because the action is having a difficult time with the photo you are using, or the size of the brush area. The image may be too small or not have enough detail to properly run the action. Several layers make up the final background layer, but I think what you are looking for is to disable these layers:
(Towards the top) -Overall Color Tint -Paper Texture
(Towards the bottom) - Base Color - Original
Give that a try and let me know if that does what you’re looking for.
Hey When I export my Photoshop file there are 32 files image sequence folders when I am exporting into After Effects, not 30. Is this going to be an issue and when I rendered my first reveal at around 7 seconds it fills in lots of squiggly lines and looks a little weird. Can you help??
You can also see hard edges from layers and does the image size in photoshop need to match a certain Aspect ratio in Ae??
Hello, you should have exactly 30, if not it will definitely affect the results in AE.
You may have added a second background by duplicating the background before running the action, or had a second brush layer that’s turned off. Try running the action from scratch, then the exporter and let me know if you are still getting 32 layers.
The image size can be scaled down via the master scale controller in AE. I recommend to scale the image down in Photoshop before running the Motion Kit Exporter just to make AE run as quickly as possible, but it’s not required.

That issue is usually because the area you are brushing is too small. Great action. I love it! One question: where in AE can I change the color of the paper background? I want it to be white and not that brownish color.
Awesome, I’m glad you are enjoying it!
To change the paper to white, go to the ‘Background Textures’ layer in the Layer Editors section of the timeline, and within the Effect Controls panel change the ‘Base Color’ to white. Additionally, you may want to go to the ‘Color Correction’ layer and change the ‘Overall Color Tint’ as well.
