Hello , I just bought the kit, but it contains 279 expression errors in the character studio comp. and 606 in the head studio comp. It also gives an internal verification failure.
I did not import a character twice or something. Just followed the instructions.
Hi, thank you for contacting us.
Normally such issues are related with the project zip file. Make sure that you extract/ unzip the downloaded file before you open it in After Effects, since After Effects won’t be able to read files that are still compressed.
Can you try this and let us know how it goes? Thanks!
Rendering the characters takes alot of time. Any way of speeding things up?
Hi, thank you for contacting us. In general it is always expected to take a bit of time when rendering the characters, due to the complexity of the character rigs. This being said it depends on the speed that you are experiencing. Is it possible to let us know approximately the time it takes to render a second of animation? This way we can see if it is the normal speed or if there’s something that can be done. Thanks!
The time it takes, is about 1.2 frames each second.
And there is a bug, the foot bugs out when the character is set to looking down, right after running. How may i fix this?
Hi, can you send me an email with a screenshot or maybe a short video of the bug/ problem? So we can see exactly what it is and give you a solution. You can send this to: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com
As for rendering speed, this speed is quite normal with this kind of animation. It normally takes from around 3 minutes per 10 seconds of animation, to maybe 10 minutes per 10 seconds, depending on your PC.
Many thanks!
Hi! Great product!
I have a question. So If I buy this product everytime I want to do a series or a video do I need to buy the license again?
I have already read the licenses but there are products that are toolkits but have the regular license. Im a bit confused So I prefer you tell me the actual restrictions on this item.
Thank you so much!
Hi, thank you for your interest. Regarding licensing, basically you can use the same license/ purchase, to do multiple videos, as long as they are related/ in a series to each other (in most cases this can be the case when you are doing multiple videos for the same client, or yourself). Then if you are to produce a video that is completely not related, for instance, for a new client, you will need to buy a new license for that client (it is best to take the license fee into account when quoting for different clients).
I am also attaching a link to the Envato Support centre: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
If you have specific questions, or concerns regarding to licensing, you can also send them a quick message. They are basically the ones who take care of licensing and designed the licenses for videohive, so would be able to give you a more precise answer.
Hope this is of help to you! Of course, let us know should you need further assistance
Any premiere version like Character Animation Kit?
Hi, due to its features, etc, right now we only have the After Effects version for this toolkit.
hello, is it possible to show the back of the hat. for example sitting in front of the laptop. overshoulder?
Hi, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately right now, rotation is up to 180 degrees (from side to side).
hello, can i export my character as a vector? using it in illustrator for additional print?
Hi, unfortunately due to the rig, they cannot be exported as a vector. You can however export them as a .png, using the Add to render queue function.
HI, i am interested in the template. Is there a time limit to this license? Can i make unlimited videos if i just want to put them on youtube?
Hi, thank you for your message; very glad you like the toolkit!
You can find all the information related to licensing in the following link: https://videohive.net/licenses/faq#what-constitutes-series-a
Basically with a regular license you can use it to produce multiple videos for youtube, provided that they are in a series. You can find more information regarding this, and what constitutes a series, in the link provided above.
hi i am not able to get auto lip sync option in after effects cc 2018
Hi, thank you for your email. Can you send us a message using the account the item was purchased from. This will activate support from our side. Thanks!
Hey there, I want my chars to have more modern look as this one: https://videohive.net/item/retail-characters/23370372 can I catch this look with your project?
Hi, thank you for your interest! Yes of course, using the toolkit you should be able to achieve something that is quite close to that style of characters. The toolkit is very versatile, so you can for instance change the skin color to match those, then there is also a full character studio package which allows you to change many things, such as leg, shape, body shape, clothes design, etc.
We have done a video that goes over some of the character design features that are included. We highly suggest that you go over this before you purchase to see what is included, and if it is good for your needs. Here’s a quick link to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0QUlcwl5Po&t=10s
Hope this is of help to you! Of course, let us know should you need further help!
Hi! This toolkit looks fantastic. Can I use the regular license if I use this toolkit to create a YouTube series (52 videos) with characters I create and animate using this toolkit?
Hi, thank you for your message; very glad you like the toolkit! Yes you can use a regular license for a youtube series.
You can find all the information related to licensing in the following link: https://videohive.net/licenses/faq#what-constitutes-series-a Basically with a regular license you can use it to produce multiple videos for youtube, provided that they are in a series. You can find more information regarding this, and what constitutes a series, in the link provided above.
Can you help me to import our own character in it. So I still can use the animations and Lipsync.
Hi, as for lip syncing and head related animations these are Head Studio features, so they can only be used when characters are created using the Head Studio that is included with the toolkit, since they use the mouth that comes with the Head Studio. Custom characters and head designs done outside of the toolkit cannot use the Lip sync and animation features of the head studio.
If you would like to use lip-syncing with custom characters, an option would be to use a custom body that you have designed in external applications, but then build the head right inside the toolkit using the Head Studio. You can then customize this further by changing specific parts, like hair, etc.
We have explained this process in tutorials 07 and 08, if you would like to give them a look
:
hi there, can you make short tutorial where character occurs in circle and use lip sync to recorded audio. i just added one of the character with basic motion . it is taking alot of time to render
the animation is 12 sec long . i have good spec pc
Hi, thank you for your message. I am sorry, I don’t seem to have understood exactly what you mean regarding the circle and lip sync? Can you explain further what you are trying to do. We’ll try to explain any features and help you accordingly!
As for rendering, may I ask you the time it is taking for rendering, per 10 second of animation? It is normal for it to take a bit of time to render, since character animation is quite complex, this being said it shouldn’t take too long. It normally takes from around 3 minutes per 10 seconds of animation, to maybe 10 minutes per 10 seconds, depending on your PC.
Hope this is of help to you! Of course, should you need further assistance or clarification on something don’t hesitate to ask! You can also send me screenshots, etc, of what you are doing so we can find any issues, and help you out accordingly. You can find my email here: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com
Fabulous looking project. Have you got any future plans to make this work with CS6? Fingers crossed!
Hi, thank you for your feedback and interest
Unfortunately due to how the project works, there are no plans to make it compatible with CS6.
how can i change the frame rate, without getting the character messed up?
Hi, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, this is a known bug in After Effects that will happen when changing frame rates with most rigs, when using certain features, and there is no direct way to fix it. This being said, there is a way to go around this. Basically what you can do is simply drag and drop the character composition “Character Studio – Character #” inside a new composition. Then change the frame rate of this new composition, rather then changing the character composition itself. This will give you correct animation for the new frame rate, without affecting the character composition itself. You can keep working in the character composition to add animations, etc, then when you are to render, simply render the new composition, rather than the Character Studio – Character # composition.
Hope this is of help to you! Of course if anything is not clear let us know!
How can we add our past files to the latest version with lipsync?
Hi, we have reconstructed the main head rigs for the new version, so old files cannot be migrated to the new one. You will need to start a fresh project to use the new features.
This being said, an alternative to do this would be, to create the head animations, and lip-syncing, etc, in the new version. Then render the head animation on its own. Open the old files and import the rendered head animation in your past files. Finally, simply drag and drop it in the head composition, and solo the layer, so it will show only the rendered video with the head animation that you have imported.
Hi, I am very impressed with the depth and amount of options available in this project. You have really gone above and beyond!
One of the things I noticed is that most of your sample animations have the character blinking on a regular basis. I haven’t found a preset animation that does this. How do I get my character to blink on regular intervals?
Hi, I am very glad that you like the product! We really have gave this one our all!
There is not an animation preset for character blinking. Although this is a really great idea so we will surely add this on the to do list for our next update!
As for now, this can be done by animating the eyes to close and open fast. We went over this in this video, it is at time 7:11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dr6WGkmJiLM&list=PLj2u0xlsUQfcg3MRc1rRomAj9adRIVHCj&index=14
You can make multiple blinks like this. Then a very cool option is the following: What you can do is Alt click on the stopwatch for the ‘Open | Close’ eyes properties, and in the expression box that opens up type loopOut(); This will loop this blink forever into the timeline, so like this the character will keep blinking periodically depending on the placement of your first few blinks.
I am leaving a link to a very good tutorial explaining the loop expression, should you want to know more about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoOnfuEkz9M
Hope this is of help to you
That’s perfect, thanks so much for your quick response!
You’re very welcome! I have seen that you left us a review. Thank you so much!
is there any way to make it not so laggy?
Hi thank you for your message,
Regarding lag, when you make a change to the character it is expected for it to take a second or two to update, since After Effects will need to perform multiple tasks to bring that change. This being said, there are a few things that can help improve this further.
In Version 1.2, we have just added a feature named boost performance. This should improve performance by 2x to 3x as it switches off head animations while you work with the character. Just remember to switch it back on just before rendering. Simply tick this feature on to test it out. You can also find more information regarding this in help video 22.
I have also compiled a few other tips for you and sent them as a reply to you email. Hope this is of help to you! Of course, let us know if you need anything else
Thanks for the update, is there an updated documentation to explain the new features?
Hi, yes of course. At the bottom of the page description you will find an overview of what have been added. When downloading the project you will also find two new tutorial videos outlining all the details on using these features.
We are especially excited for the new Auto lip-sync feature! We think it is something unique, as it allows for auto lip-syncing and auto face animation which can be combined with any face expression. Make sure to watch the tutorial for more information!
Is there an Lipsync plugin that we can use with this template?
Hi, thank you for your message, I hope you are enjoying using the toolkit! The toolkit comes with a number of Mouth Gestures that should cover all the alphabet sounds and popular phonetics. Right now these can be turned on/ off using the sliders provided and normal keyframes. Basically, for example when you want him to say ‘O’ you can turn the slider to 100% for when that sound comes out, this way it will go to this mouth gesture. You can also blend between different gestures, to create you own new gesture. For example you can set the sliders for ‘e’ and ‘o’, to 50%, to get a mouth shape that is in between these two.
These are the current features that are implemented in the toolkit, for lip syncing. Did you have anything else in mind or would like to see something new implemented? If so let us know, maybe we will be able to implement them in future updates, if the mechanics of the toolkit allows us.
Of course, should you need further assistance or clarification on something don’t hesitate to ask! You can find my email here: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com
That is a very long and disapointing answer. So clearly the lipsync plugin will not work. Than I can not do anything with this template anymore. Otherwise it will take me 5 weeks to make 1 video.
Hi, I am sorry if we misunderstood you. Is it possible to send us a link to the lip sync plugin you would like to use with it, so we will check if this will work, or if there is a way to work around it maybe? There could be a few tricks that could make it work… depending what you are using. Let us know and we will try to guide you through it
Thanks!
Please tell me which lip sync plugin we can use to make it work.
And an other question how can we sync the bike pedals with the characters feet.
Hi, following your request, we did some research on the topic, as Auto Lip syncing is not something that we envisioned for the toolkit until now. We think that having this feature will be quite useful for our customers, so we have just started exploring ways to implement this new feature right inside the toolkit, so you won’t need any external plugins. We will be working on this over the coming days, so hopefully we will be able to update the toolkit with this new feature very soon!
As for your second question, we have done a tutorial video to cover this, basically you just need to match the bike animation with the markers. You can find a link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIGvOqDcGG4&list=PLj2u0xlsUQfcg3MRc1rRomAj9adRIVHCj&index=13
Hi, We have just rolled out a very exciting update regarding this! The toolkit now now ships with one of the most advanced and easy to use auto-lip syncing plugins. You can even use facial and mouth expressions while lip-syncing to achieve completely unique professional head animations quickly. Enjoy!
Gorgeous project! Congrats! What’s the new about the last update? And is it possible to rotate the full body like in the example of the product on the main page, 180 degrees, the full body as once?
Hi, thank you for your message, and feedback! Glad you like it!
The update was related to search engine optimization, tags, etc… This being said we are already working on some exciting new things for Version 2, including new characters and animations! Of course, this will take some time to release, given the scale of the project.
As for the 180 degrees, this is split into different sections, so you will have complete control on what to rotate.
Head:
You can rotate the head, using the Head Control layer, simply drag this around, and the head will rotate to look at this control layer.
Body:
As for the body, in the ‘Character Animation Suite’ effect, you will find a feature named ‘Body Rotation’. Simply rotate this, and the body will rotate with it. This will be mostly visible when you have a belt or a patterned top, since you will see them moving from side to side.
To continue emphasize the effect, we have also included a number of features that can come in handy. I’m going to list them below:
Leg & Arm Distance:
In the Character Studio > Legs > Leg Shape, you will find distance. By increasing the distance the legs will be more apart, making the legs facing forward. When decreasing the distance to 0, they will be in front of each other, as if you are looking at the character from the side. Similarly there’s the Arm Distance, which you can modify for the same effect.
As for the animations themselves, these are all made into a specific direction (facing left). When you need the animation to be in the opposite direction, you can simply flip the whole character, this way the animations will face the other direction. We have done a video tutorial on this, you can have a look at it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_45_RCuXLQ&list=PLj2u0xlsUQfcg3MRc1rRomAj9adRIVHCj&index=20
Hope this is of help to you! Of course, there are a lot of other features which we can mention, but we think these are the best ones for this job. Should you need further assistance or clarification on something don’t hesitate to ask! You can find my email here: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com
Thank you for replying.
You’re very welcome! Hope you enjoy using it!
