How do you flip a character? All of them seem to be facing stage right. I want them to be stage left.

Hi, the head can be rotated to face both sides, you will simply need to drag around the head control layer, and the head will rotate to look at this control layer.

As for the animations themselves, these are all made into a specific direction (facing left). When you need the animation to be in the opposite direction, you can simply flip the whole character, this way the animations will face the other direction. We have done a video tutorial on this, you can have a look at it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_45_RCuXLQ&list=PLj2u0xlsUQfcg3MRc1rRomAj9adRIVHCj&index=20

Have the same problem “toonstar”explained. When I import any of the characters to a project, its freaking slow and shows tons of expression errors. I have a fst Macbook Pro, so thats not why it is slow. For me its not usefull and I would also like to refund if there isnt a solution, sorry.

Hi, thank you for your message. As mentioned to ‘toonstar’ the toolkit is a standalone project and it is not intended to be used within another project, without first rendering. We usually don’t recommend this for most projects available on the market, as this can create issues in naming of files, etc.

The ideal way to use this is to basically create the characters and animations, within the included project, then simply render, and import them into any project. This way you will be able to get fast performance when using them in any other projects.

On our youtube channel we have a video tutorial series explaining the best practices, to make best use of the toolkit. These are also included with your downloaded project. This being said, of course if you have any other questions or need further help, don’t hesitate to ask. You can send us an email to stephanzammit@neuronfx.com

Hi, I wanted to clarify our last message. Basically, characters can be used together in one scene/ project, without rendering. We normally recommend rendering them before using them together, as of course, this really improves performance when designing your scenes, especially when you have many characters.

This being said, if you still prefer using them together, this can be done. One small tip is to make sure that you are not importing the same character, with the same name twice, since this creates naming issues (it could be the problem you were having with the errors).

If you would like to import the same character twice, you can first import a character, then rename the compositions named (“Character Studio – Character #” & “Head Studio – Character #”), so that they have a new unique name (you can give them the name of your character, example Bill’s Head, etc). Then you can import another character, and everything should work properly.

Of course, we still highly recommend to render the specific character before introducing new characters, to make sure that you have the best performance.

If you find any issues or have any other questions, please send us a quick email so we can help you accordingly and make sure that you make most out of the toolkit! Thanks!

Is it possible to save my own characters (made with my drawings)?

Hi, yes if you create a character using your drawings, after you import your images, etc and have the character setup, you can then save the whole project in a different name.. and your new character will be saved. Simply do file > save as.. and give it a name.

Does this one use Duik Bassel or earlier version?

Hi, this was done using the earlier version, but you don’t need to worry about Duik, since it has its own rig setup, and you don’t need to have Duik installed. All that you need comes in the toolkit itself :)

Hi. Can I use all the animations If I use my own character?

Hi, yes, when using your own images of characters not designed within the toolkit, you can still use any of the animations.

The limitation is Face expressions, and other head related features, which of course won’t work since you won’t be using the head rig provided with the toolkit. You can however use your own character images for the body then use the included head studio to design the head, this way you will be able to use head features and will get best of both.

The head and character studio are very, very flexible, so you might want to also design you own characters directly in the toolkit! :) In which case, all the features, etc will be available!

Should you want to know more, we have made all the help videos public on our youtube channel, to be as transparent as possible :) Simply head over to the help video section from the item description and you will find a link to them!

Thanks for your reply! Is it possible to save my own characters?

Hi, yes if you create a character using the toolkit, all you need to do, is save the whole project in a different name.. and your new character will be saved. Simply do file > save as.. and give it a name.

can i change another character’s ? i mean.. my character’s.

Hi, thank you for your message. Using the character studio you can build a very large variety of characters, since it includes easy to use features to tweak almost anything in the character. Should you want something different/ more personal, you can also bypass the character studio and import your own characters, that you have designed in other applications, like illustrator, etc. Just keep in mind that when using your own images/ characters, you will loose some functionality, namely the Head and character studio, since you will of course be bypassing these.

Wow this looks really extensive. I can’t even imagine how much work this project cost. Impressive!

Thanks for your nice feedback! We have really put a lot of energy in this one, with over a year of research and work. We hope customers get to enjoy all the features and appreciate its value! :)

Thank you :)

This project is great, fantastic style of easily customizable characters and excellent animation options. I really love the style. Congratulations for the good work and enjoy the sales !!

Such a nice comment. Thanks Juanmita! Very glad you love it! :D

Hi, Please help about Character Studio. I tried Character Animations fx in Layer2 “Character Animation Suite” but it couldn’t action. Ex) Set “BigWave”, Head, Chest,,, Hands position seems OK after then play start→no action in preview. For Layer1 “CharacterStudio” could work. I’m using AE CC2019 / Mac.

Hi, thank you for your message. To apply animtions, make sure that you select the layer named ‘Character Animation Suite’ than from the effect controls layer, select the ’ Character Animation Suite’ effect before you add any animations. This is an important step to make sure that animations are always inputed on the character’s animation suite.

You can have a look at the help videos provided to see how this works exactly. Of course if problems persist let us know so we can help you accordingly. It is always best to send us related screenshots. You can send any screenshots to me directly on stephanzammit@neuronfx.com

It was NOT clear that this works only with Adobe After Effects—which I don’t have. I want a refund. How do I get a refund?

Where is the description page? Where is the Compatibility and Performance page? Envato said on their page that you make the decision whether to refund.

This is the page where I made the decision to purchase. Nothing is said anywhere that I need to have an Adobe account first. Where is the description page? You should have made it clear that another software was needed. Nowhere does it say “Adobe” on this page.

Please refund my money. Thank you.

Hi, I am sorry for any misunderstanding. The description page is the page you have linked to: https://videohive.net/item/character-animation-explainer-toolkit/23819644

On the right hand side of this page you will find a panel with all the specifications of the project. At the bottom of this page you will find the Compatibility & Performance section. I am attaching this below for reference:

Compatibility & Performance
Character Animation Explainer Toolkit is designed for Adobe After Effects CC and above. It is compatible with After Effects CC Version 12, and all the other more recent versions, including: CC, CC 2014, CC 2015, CC 2016, CC 2017, CC 2018, CC 2019.

As mentioned earlier, refund requests need to be made through Envato’s portal. So you will need to submit a refund request there Then these will assess the situation and will refer back to us if needed. I am attaching a link here: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202821460-Can-I-Get-A-Refund-

I want my money back.

hello ! I would like to change completely the outfit of a character : at some point, he will have to wear white hooded overalls (to use a product to kill bugs) with big glasses and gloves.. And also I need a postwoman.. Do you provide those equipments? Last thing : do a character can carry a box ? Thank you !! (sorry about my English, I’m writing you from France :))

Hi, thank you for your interest. The toolkit comes with a large package of images that you can build up your clothes with, like buttons, zippers, jackets, clothes accessories, etc. With these you can build up a lot of different outfits. Regarding to a hooded overall, the kit has a collection of hats, helmets that you can use but it does not have this kind of hood/ helmet, this being said, you can easily import your own image of a hood and use it over the head.

Regarding changing the outfit. You can keyframe the clothes color, and most settings, etc, so you can change from a normal outfit to that full white suite, by simply making the pants, shirt, etc to white.

As for the gloves, the toolkit does not have gloves, but you still have two options. 1. You can import your own gloves image to use with it, or 2. Since your character will be all covered up, you can even simply change the skin color to white, so that the hands are white, as if they had gloves on them. There is a separate skin color control for the head and body, so if you change the body skin color to white, the head can still have the normal skin color.

It has a collection of glasses, and you can change their size, so you can make large glasses. It also has a carrying box animation, so you can place a box in its hand, and it will walk with it.

Hope this is of help to you! :)

Hi animation doesn’t seem to be working for character 16 after adding presets to “character animation suite” can you help?

Hi, thank you for your message. We just saw your email. Sending you the message here for reference.

From your screenshot it seems that you may not be selecting the Character Animation Suite effect from the effect controls panel, thus it is creating an other effect rather than inputing the animation on the current effect.

Make sure that you select the layer named ‘Character Animation Suite’ than from the effect controls layer, select the ’ Character Animation Suite’ effect before you add any animations. This is an important step to make sure that animations are always inputed on the character’s animation suite.

You can have a look at the help videos provided to see how this works exactly. Of course if problems persist let us know so we can help you accordingly. It is always best to send us related screenshots.

Thanks and regards, Stephan Zammit

Thanks Stephan, I’ve got it now, great customer service :)

can it be used to produce multiple videos for youtube with a regular license?

Hi, thank you for your message, and sorry for the late reply, as we were awaiting an official answer from envato regarding this (as they determine licensing on Videohive).

You can find all the information related to licensing in the following link: https://videohive.net/licenses/faq#what-constitutes-series-a

Basically with a regular license you can use it to produce multiple videos for youtube, provided that they are in a series. You can find more information regarding this, and what constitutes a series, in the link provided above.

In simple terms, the main difference is that under the Regular License, your end product (incorporating the item you’ve licensed) is distributed for free, whereas under the Extended License your end product may be sold. Of course, if it was all that simple, we’d have a one sentence license, so please do read the licenses and the rest of these FAQs in the link provided for more details!

thanks. Is there any way out for using the tool for multiple number of videos to be uploaded on social platforms without purchasing regular license for every video? As it is not practical for most of the youtubers. (Note- only for uploading, not for selling to the clients)

Hi, you can use the tool with a regular license for multiple videos provided that the videos are within the same genre/ series of videos. So for example, if you are a Youtuber who does cooking videos, you can have a series of videos using the same license. Regarding to use outside of this, it would be best to discuss it directly with Envato staff, as they will be able to answer specific questions regarding to licensing, since they produce licences, etc. I am leaving a link to they support center here, should you wish to submit a support ticket: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

BEAUTIFUL job !!!

Thank you :)

Incredible work! Good luck!

Thanks!
