Is there a way to export the lower third so that I can keep the design but just edit the text once imported into final cut pro 7? Like a template?
This way I don’t have to render every time I just need to change the person’s name.

Yes, you can keep the design and just hide the text layers while exporting (rendering), to use as a template and type the names in final cut.

Hello, I just purchased this from you. How do I output render it so that the grey background doesn’t show up when I import it into final cut pro 7? Also, is there any way to save a lower third as a template that I could use in Final Cut?

Hi,
you may be rendering without alpha channel
go compositions>add to render Queue
{ opens Render queue window}
Next to Output module click on LOSSLESS to open
{opens out put module setting window}
click on FORMAT OPTIONS in video output
(opens Compression Settings window)
select compression type to ANIMATION
click ok
(opens output module settings window)
in video ouput select RGB+ ALPHA
click ok
render
you will get a .MOV file with alpha channel which you can use it in your fcp project.

hi, check this link for a slower version.(its not all lowerthirds and shape openers. but still i hope you will get a better idea about how its animated)
