Hello. Are you referring to the actual bulbs being different shapes, or the shape the bulbs are forming based on the light? If you want to change the shape of the bulbs, that is not supported, but if you want to change the bulbs to look like objects via the lights being turned on or off, then yes you can absolutely do that!

Hello. No, the light distance and amount of bulbs are not editable (other than choosing between the different sizes, like x4, x8 etc.). Hello. No, the template can only be used at full hd (1920×1080). Also no, the bulb position cannot be changed, only the light being emitted from the bulbs is editable.

Hi, I have already bought the “Lights Toolkit” for after effects. I have problems to run the AE session. In summary, working at any “main x4, main x2, main x8, etc… It takes like 30 seconds to load 1 frame, so obviously with that speed, i have failed to use the product, not knowing as even how’s work’s. My question is if you know how I can optimize the performance of AE to run “ Lights Toolkit” smoothly, or if it is necessary to have a computer better than the mine?? For this I’ll leave the detail of my equipment:

Mac Retina Processor: 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i5 Ram Memory: 8gb 1600 Mhz DDR3

Also, I’m running in AE 5.5 and without the “Optical Flares”

It sounds like you may have the resolution on Full. I’d recommend changing the resolution (a dropdown in the composition panel towards the middle) to Half or Quarter.

Typically when working in After Effects you would lower the resolution when animating and set the resolution on Full when you want to see the final results to make sure everything looks how you want it before rendering out your final video.

Your computer specs are just fine, your Ram is a little low, but your computer is adequate to use the template!

Hello,

The plug in version uses Video Copilot Lens Flares to adjust the brightness of the lights. This results in a slightly more stylized look with more detail coming from the lights and a bit more contrast between the highlights and the shadows.

Basically, you have more control if you want to fine tune the look of the lights. Many users are very familar with using the plug in, so I wanted to add in the ability to use them with Lights Toolkit. You can definitely get great results without it though, don’t feel you have to purchase the plug in – it’s really more of a bonus feature.
