Really cool idea. It’ll be great if you create one with an LED light bulb instead of incandescent.
Are you available for some custom work – ie I have some video clips 3 I want to have the light bulb appear over the heads of the 3 people that are talking, it may require some very very slight motion tracking. Let me know if you’re interested and if so I can provide more details etc.

I’m afraid the project file I made for the demo is long since gone, but it’s very easy to achieve.
If you’re in After Effects, use a Fast Blur effect to blur your logo in over a second or so at the same time as quickly fading it in using Opacity.
Then set the layer’s blending mode to Add. This makes it interact with the lit light bulb on the layer below. Then just blow the Light Bulb motion graphic up to the right size.
If your logo is white, it will appear to come out of the glow, as you see in the preview demo.
Firstly, excellent work! Can the illumination intensity be adjusted? Without seeing that specifically noted in the description, I’m curious if it’s possible. Also, is each element modifiable? Such as the glass body, filament, and metallic base?

As well as including the standard Quicktime movie files, as a bonus I have included the light bulb rendered in separate layers and an After Effects project that you can use to combine the layers together how you prefer. Inside that project, if you use a Levels effect and increase the gamma on Layer 3 – Add V1, you will get the brighter light effect that you’re talking about.
Unfortunately, the bulb itself is prerendered, so you can’t change the shape, base, fitting, filament etc.

How would I composite this onto a light/white background?

Just import it into your normal video editing application. The alpha channel is embedded directly in the file. For most video apps, you just drop it on top of other footage and it’s automatically see through.
Since a bulb is glass, it tends to disappear a bit against a pure white. But against a light gray, it’s fine.
