Popular questions for this item

Thanks for checking out the FAQ page. Below you will find a comprehensive list of the most common issues and questions associated with the product. The FAQ is broken into two sections: Common Errors and FAQ.

COMMON ERRORS

This project must be converted from version xx.x (Macintosh 64). The original file will be unchanged.

This is due to the project file being saved back to a previous version of After Effects. Just click ‘Ok’, it will not impact the project in any way.

After Effects warning: X files are missing since you last saved this project.

This error is indicating that there are assets (images, video or audio files) that After Effects cannot locate on your computer. Unlike Photoshop – where the assets are imported into your project and saved in the .psd – After Effects only references assets on your computer, so if you move an asset into a new location on your computer, you’ll need to tell After Effects where that file has been moved to.

The error can be caused by a few things:

  • Download interruptions or lost internet connection as the file is downloading. If the project file was only partially downloaded, when you extract the zip file there will be assets that are missing. This can be caused by a number of reasons, but most often it is associated with slow internet connections. You’ll need to re-download the project file by logging in, on the top-right select your username, then from the drop-down select ‘Downloads’.

  • Extracting (unzipping) the project file before it is fully downloaded. To isolate this issue, reference the file size on the right-hand side of the project page with your download file size. If the zip file is smaller than the project description size, re-download the project file.

  • Moving the .aep file to a new location on your computer. If you move the .aep file, After Effects will not be able to determine where the asses are located. Instead, move the entire project folder from the download.

If you can see the assets are visible in the ‘Assets’ folder, you can manually re-link assets following the steps here.

Warning: This project uses fonts that are not currently available.

This error is caused by not installing one or more of the fonts from the ‘Instructions.txt’ file. The instructions file provides links to download the fonts used in the project file.

Note that you don’t necessarily have to download the recommended fonts, especially if you are going to be customizing the fonts, but you will receive the error every time you open the project file.

FAQ

Can I add more than 100 bulbs in a scene?

100 bulbs are the maximum supported, as it’s a nice balance between individual bulb detail and performance. When working with over 100 bulbs, it started to impact After Effect’s performance.
