I am trying to get him to walk in Apple Motion and can’t figure out how to smoothly get him across the screen. Any tips?

Unfortunately I’m not an Apple/Mac user (Windows user) so I have no experience with the application but this may help you:
Basically what you need to do is make a repeatable composite video track of the character and create a keyframe on the first frame (start point), then scroll in the timeline to the place you want him to go, move him and make another keyframe on that frame (end point).

Our 2D Animations looks so smooth is because it’s drawn a Frame-By-Frame (25 frames per second! in some cases 30 or more).
