thomasKovar – First, this is amazing. Great work, and thank you. Your tutorial video is great too.
I’m confused about something. I’m doing an awards ceremony for my company. I have customized the 4 screen slideshow for 4 nominees. Each nominee has a video that they’ve made (no sound) for their quadrant, and I’ve changed the placeholder text to their names and office.
I need the nominees and the 10 second videos to appear one after the other. Since I know enough about AE to make some changes, I’ve edited for it to do that. Everything works, except….
There is something that makes the names and videos disappear (alpha?) after 20ish seconds. When I extend the clips beyond that time, they still disappear and I can’t figure out why.
While I’m not an expert at AE (other Adobe stuff I am), this is beyond me right now and I’m pulling out my hair.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is a three screen and five screen easy to realise in your template?
Hello. At this time, it is only set up for 2 and 4. Let me know if that’s an issue for you with the template.
I have four categories, each with three nominees; and one category with five nominees. So it would be great if you could help me a bit in modifying the template allowing me to show the three/five nominees in one single shot. Thank you very much in advance.
Unfortunately, the product is not set up for 5 nominees at one time. You could use the 4 nominee option and only use 3 of the 4 placeholders, but at this time it’s not included. If this is an issue, we’re happy to offer a refund for you to purchase one that will work with your project.
What is the typeface used?
I used “Open San” from Google Fonts, but I masked out some of the crossbars on the letter A in the demo which is why it may not look the exact same.
So silly question: The infiite loop segments mean you can stack them back to back and they will transition seamlessly?

Hi Thomas. I am not as expert on AE. How can I extend the duration of a slideshow so it was about 25s? I just need more time for the voiceover of each element.
Hello. My first thought would be to make sure you’re using the “Slideshow Extended – 11 Sec” rather than the 6 second version, as that will allow you more time for each slide and you can slow down the slideshow if you need to.
If you are using the 11 second version, unfortunately it’s not supported to customize the duration of individual slides (it is possible, but it’s not supported). I do offer paid customization services if you need, but when you start to match voiceovers to footage it gets much more technical since all the slides are set up to loop.

Hello. Yes, it’s pretty simple to do. If you’re brand new to AE it may be wise to hire it out, but if you don’t have a tight deadline and want to learn AE more it’s a good opportunity with this particular product.

Should it be taking over 30 mins to render 8 name changes or add in some scenes?
It’s probably normal, but it really all depends on what specific scenes you’ve added in and how many scenes, as well as your computer specs to say one way or another. Feel free to send over the details and I’ll let you know!

Hi. I am clicking on the AEP file its loaded the files in after effects , but its saying its uploading replacement fonts as after effects doesn’t have yours , anyway I have no idea how to use this or after effects i purchases for a one off awards show , could you possibly advise how to ad captions , and what to run it with ps I can’t find the tutorial could you possibly put a link to one

I just watched your 8th tip video on changing curves and gradient. I am trying to change to the blue curves and gradients by highlighting, copying and pasting the curves 1, 2 and 4 color gradient. However, nothing changes and I have “expression errors.” Any idea why?

Hello, when you copy and paste the curve and 4-color gradient, you need to make sure you are only pasting them into the ‘Main’ comp, on the Curves Controller and 4-Color Gradient Controller.
If you try and paste the effects in other comps you’ll get an error, as all the curves and 4-color gradients are referencing those effects from the specific layers mentioned above.
