Yeah, BreakDown is a bit heavy to preview due to the motion blur and defocus present everywhere. Lowering the quality of the preview, deactivating motion blur and maybe even Depth of Field can help a lot.

Still having an issue actually…
Strangely, I am not having issues with the playback/scrubbing of the files within the AE preview, this was all fine, it was once the movie had been converted into a .mov!
As mentioned the only mods I had made were removing the triangles and replacing all the font based content for images.
The first time I rendered the whole thing it would not play at all, so I thought it might be human error etc… I reopened your master file again, made the changes carefully (removing triangles) and the second version played back ok (only after shutting down any other apps on my mac…). But when I came to play it the next day (again with everything shut down) it starts/stops – misses a bit out etc.
What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? (I am using realplayer and or VLC for the playback BTW )...
Again, I have a top spec machine – a short HD video should play back ok – shouldn’t it?

Bit of a noob when it comes to AE.
I have followed your tuts, replaced the text with some images (largeish transparent.png files if this makes any difference) and have rendered at ‘lossless’ and ‘best settings’.
The only changes I made was to remove the triangles…
The movie renders ok, but plays back painfully slow? (FYI – I have a top spec imac).
when I opened the file it did mention the fact ‘it must be converted from version 9 (intel mac – which is weird, because that what i have????) and will open as untitled project…’
Any ideas as to what I / may be going wrong…
