This project Mac/Pc fully compatible files and does not contain any *.exe
Great product! Quick question though. I created everything I need in the flat color project file then decided that I would like the world.jpg in it as portrayed in the other project. Is there an easy way to import that into the flat project so I do not have to recreate the whole piece? Thanks in advance!
First, this is really well done. Second, I haven’t master AE yet, is there someone out these would customize this for me? I have a list of locations and dates that I would like to timeline across this map, but it’s beyond my skill set at the moment? Any place to pay someone to customize it?
Thank you for the nice tool. Was having some trouble with an infopanel negating the effects of the country selector, but replacing the infopanel with a fresh one solved this.

I have a big problem. I have to highlight more countries in the same color. The problem is that if I show the map from a bigger distance the frontiers disappear, and you cannot differentiate between neighboring countries.
How can I solve this problem? Is there for example a possibility to give an individual stroke on the country path?

The project crashes while invoking effect plug-in Optical Flares. I don’t have that plug-in installed on my computer. Do you have a pre-rendered version?

I tried opening with CC and didn’t get errors… I will let you know how it goes. Very awesome project!!!
Ok, the startup procedure for CC 2014 is as follows:
1.Open IMK_tutorial_end.aep
2.Open InfoMapKit script and click “Create”
3.Close project without saving and open project IMK.aep
4.Work now as usual

Unfortunately, that action just elevates a little bit the “coloured” countries, but the frontiers are drawn in the “worldmap”, and are blinded by the selected countries…

I answer myself: I have to tup a stroke effect in country slector, the same as present in the worldwide layer, and put: composite:avobe previous
Just got this, so again another ‘newbie’. Using Windows. I installed the ScriptUI Panels, and installed the InfoMapKit.jsxbi. It runs the program but then after says its installed, it says: “Installation Error: Can’t Write PresetEffects.xml”. What does this mean? Thanks
Try run AE under “Administrator” , even if you are logged it as Administrator. To do this Right-clicking (sometimes Shift+RightClick) on the application and choosing “Run as administrator”

Trying to install 3d lines express OSX mavericks and Adobe CC. Everytime I open up AE I get a pop up “Infographics Map Kit Installation complete Please restart After Effects” Then: “Installation Error: Can’t write PresetEffects.xml” I’ve followed all steps in the instructions.
Try to install pseudo-effects manually.
Close AE
Open the file PresetEffects.xml using Notepad or any other text editor.
Default location of the PresetEffects.xml file on Mac: /Applications/Adobe After Effects CC/ (Show Package Contents) /Resources/PresetEffects.xml
Scroll down to the end, and right above last </Effects> paste the code from this file https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13338350/to_xml.txt
Save and close PresetEffects.xml
I did this, nothing seems to have changed. I get the errors still when I open AE. Also everytime I open one of the projects it says the effects are missing, It seems things are working, but I still get the errors. Very strange.

Great project! Really saved a ton of time. I am having an issue though. When I have a handful of countries highlighted, they look great in the preview. But when I render it out, they are not highlighted anymore. Any suggestions?
I cannot find an .exe file to install. I am new to this and don’t know what a script UI is. How do I use this program. Do I need to buy additional software?

I’m having the same problem as @cola_klinks, after 30 seconds of the composition, the map background disappear. Also, the camera control snaps to a full static view. I “unhided” the layers, and added the seedRandom(0); to the anchor point and Z rotation, but this still happens. Can you help please?

I followed the instructions for script install but this project is crashing my AE CS5.5 (MAC OSX 10.8.5) as soon as it opens with codes: Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: EXC_I386_GPFLT
Any help is appreciated!

I finally got it to work – I had to go back into the general preferences and turn off the button for allowing scripts to write files and access network option. It’s a great project – can’t wait to customize it for my video!
