I got this collection as a gift from my friend. But in the footage the spirit and ghost hands and many more .mov files just show a black screen when opened in cs4 or in vlc player. Plz help…...

The content is 4K. Quicktime, with H264 encoded. So, I would advise that you update the latest Quicktime and H264 codec.

I updated quicktime to the latest version and still the .mov file shows a black screen

Not sure what else may be going on with your system in regards to playing it in VLC my friend. If you have CS5 and above you should certainly be able to import into programs like Premiere and After Effects to edit and work. CS4 is not compatible, and I really can not figure out issues with VLC. I play VLC just fine as you can see in the screenshot. http://phantazmapictures.com//VideoHive/dark.matters/vlc.png

the flashburns from the footage work properly in vlc,but the other files dont….......

Hey bud, Again, I can not really try to figure what is happening in VLC my friend. My concern would moreso be if you could not see the files in After Effects CS5 or above.

the project file opened in cs5.5 sir.but it shows an error that “this project contains 47 references to missing effects.please install the following effects to restore these references.(“cc particle world”,”cc mr.mercury”,”cc vector blur”,”cc force motion blur”,”cc light sweep”,”cc toner”).it also shows: the following layer dependencies are missing:text layer:font family:’aztec’,font style:’regular’ and 2 more text layers like this are shown. please help sir…..i am new to this kind of stuff..

Hey Bud, It sounds like your After Effects software did not do a full install. The CC Plugins are plugins that come with the program. They should have installed for you. You may want to contact Adobe, or go to Adobe CC Plugins page to download and install properly. But the install is not complete for After Effects. And there should be a document in the Dark Matters, with links to Fonts used, so you want those downloaded into your system as well bud.

i installed it again and downloaded the fonts sir…but where do i paste the fonts

never mind that sir i figured it out …but now it shows “30 files are missing since you last saved this project” ..

Hi fredooch, I have encountered that issue before. But it was on Macs whereas my folders I was working in, be it AE or Premiere or what-have-you, became “Read-Only”. Are you on a Mac by any chance? But that has nothing to do with Dark Matters project more than likely. Also, for a test, try going to File, Save As, and save the project elsewhere. I’m just about to get onto a plane but will be landing in a few hours. If you can email me that would be great.
