This is one of the best Element 3D projects I’ve seen. I plan to purchase. Can these effects be used, in addition to text, on extruded shapes and imported models? If so, consider adding an example to your demo.

hey i don’t want to say anything negative about this, but i believe there are some ‘hidden’ issues with this file.
i was having trouble with it before, but i was on windows 8. I got so sick of dealing with issue, i said ‘heck with it’ and just wiped 8 and went back to 7. but the problems are still there. on a brand new install.
I can’t quite put my finger on what’s wrong. but it takes a tremendous amount of time to render the previews, and some times hangs even just scene after i do my auto trace.
But beyond that there are other strange things too. For instance, normally when i open an AE project I do so by using Bridge. i browse to the file, double click and open it. If I do that, AE tells me it can’t find the file… and I’m double clicking the file/ It’s strange, so i then choose ok, and if I go to ‘file/open’ instead I can see the file and open it. I think there’s something not quite normal here but i can’t pinpoint what it is.
It’s also extremely slow to manage. But I’ve got much more complex files i can work freely on.
Also, I cannot bring the model up in e3d. it will sit at ‘loading’ indefinitely. To the tune of 3 hours I let it it sit, it not only couldn’t load the model,
hard to explain, but I’ve got to figure this out. I absolutely love this project and am dying to get it working.

maybe someone has a suggestion for me.
I’m using windows 8, which I hate. But i’ve got a pretty strong pc. 2600, SC GTX 770 vid card, 32gb mem etc.
when I do projects like this where I have to have masks, when I do the auto trace my pc hanges, and I’m going to say 7 times out of ten it never finishes. I have to abort the program and start again. sooner or later it actually does it once.
anyone got any thoughts? i’ve cleared the temps, dumped the db etc, but it happens on any project i have to auto trace.
Dear FastNOC,
I have never used windows 8 but maybe you could try to solo the layer you have to trace and trace it that way. Or make a new comp just for the tracing process and use the traced layer in the final comp.
I like to draw the masks manually in most cases to have more control and a better final image.

yeh it’s strange. tracing it isn’t the problem, it’s after it’s done and it tries to render the result. it just hangs.
it’s not your project, it’s something wrong with my computer. it does the same thing to me on other project when it trace
unbelievable. Probalby one of my top 3 favorite element 3d projects.
