This is a great AE project! Great job. I’m using it in my project right now and loving it.
How can I switch the direction it opens? Currently it opens from left to right and then closes. I would like to have it open from right to left and then close. Is there a good way to do this? I look forward to your answer.
Hello and thanks for your purchase. The easiest way to flip the reveal of the lower thirds is to take the following steps…
For example purposes, I’ll be referring to the “1-Line Lower Third”. This process will be the same for all other lower thirds in the project:
1. Type in your new text into the “1-line_L3_TEXT01” comp, then with the layer highlighted in the timeline, hit the “S” key to open the Scale attribute. Then, unlink the width/height and set the width scale to -100%, and reposition the text closer to the right side of the screen. There are 2 guides in the comp that should help you place the text.
2. Open the comp named “foldable_1line_L3_01”, and with the “foldable_1-line_L3_CAMERA_01” layer highlighted in the timeline, hit the “S” key to open the Scale attribute. Again, unlink the width/height and set the width scale to -100%, which will make the text appear correctly, now that both elements are flipped.
Additionally, you may have to reposition the camera keyframes for the lower third to appear correctly.
Hope that helps!
Thanks again,
Tyson

Hello,
I’m looking to purchase this template. I have a question though, when I export a name and sub title, can I bring that element into Final Cut Pro and overlay it on video?
Or do I need to bring the video I want it overlaid on in FCP to AE to have it work?
It would be much more convenient if this lower third had a transparent background and I could just lay it over video in FCP without having to import the video every time.
Any answers on this would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Andrew
As long as you render the animation with an alpha channel in a supporting file compression (such as PNG or Lossless), you can import the lower third graphic into any video editing software.
I’ve created a tutorial to help you through the process: http://motionrevolver.com/?p=1127
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Tyson
