Awesome product,5 stars.. One thing though, i have managed to make my character lip synch while standing, but is there no gesture for hand movements while standing or talking?.
Hi, thank you so much for your rating and positive feedback. Very glad that you like the product!
If I am understanding you well, you would like the character to kind of move hands, etc while talking, right?
The toolkit includes some standing pose animations, where the character does minor movements (like lifting slightly a leg, etc), while standing. You can also use animation like: Look at self. Which have a similar effect.
But that’s actually a great idea that we can include in future updates, so I will take not of this!
Many thanks, Stephan Zammit
Hi. Thank’s for the nice product, I’m setting up the first animations right now. Am I right, that the animation presets are only working for the body animations and that you have to set up the heads animations manualy? E.g. I applied the kissing animation, but it doesn’t affect the characters heads… Thanks for support, cheers.
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us! I am glad that you like the product! Yes, you are correct, there are 200 body animations included with the toolkit, then you can fully customize your own head animations, using the head animation studio, this way you can give it any expression you want with any body pose. So for instance you can make it talk while walking, etc.
Hope this is of help to you. Let me know should you need further assistance!
Good morning, I loved the Character Animation Explainer Toolkit! And I have a project to create a youtube channel with characters like that for personal development videos, I would like to know which license should I buy to use the animations in all videos on my channel, the regular or extended license of envatomarket
Hi Matheus, Thank you for reaching out to us! We just sent you more details regarding this as a reply to your email. Let us know should you need anything else
Hey. Ive a question about rendering. I use the latest AE2021 and have a Amd 3900X and a RTX3080 but it dosent look like the animations render really fast.. Is that normal?
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us!
Since character animation is quite a complex process, rendering speed will take a bit of time, given that the characters are quite detailed and high quality. Normally, rendering speed for this product is around 10 seconds per 1 second of animation. This will of course, then depend on your system and the type of animation you are rendering.
Hi. I have one questionn. I want make my own character (woman) with long back hair, after body, connected with head turn. Is it possible?
Hi, yes you can add a long hair with the character. In the character studio composition, there is a layer at the bottom named, “Hair Extension”, you can double click on this and add your long hair here. This is specifically designed for long hair characters. Of course, make sure that the ‘eye’ icon of the layer is on, so that the layers shows.
Hope this is of help! Of course, let us know should you need further assistance
Thanks! Happy new year!
HI, I bought the toolkit today and it looks amazing!! One issue, I followed the online video tutorials to add animation to my character. The keyframes get added but I don’t see a preview of it. You can have a look at it here: https://youtu.be/95zB27g5RC8 My after effects version is AE 2020. Let me know if you need anything else for debugging this further
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us! I am glad you like the toolkit!
When it comes to applying animation, most of the times the problem is that you might not be selecting the Character Animation Suite Effect. After you select the Character Animation Suite Layer, you will need to select the Character Animation Suite Effect, from the Effect Controls panel, then simply double click on the animation you want to add. Also, make sure not to drag and drop the animation, but simply double click it. There is a specific section in the User Guide with an image that highlights this. Basically make sure that the parts outlined in red, are both selected before you double click on the animation you want to add.
Of course if problem persists, let me know so we can guide you further!
Ahh even though I made sure I was following all the steps, that is what I missed. Thank you for the prompt reply. Another question, are there any tips or techniques to make the caching faster? I did turn off the facial animations but it still takes some time. Anything else I can do to make it faster?
Hi, I am glad that it is working well
As for caching speed, the ‘boost performance’ feature is what we have right now, it should around double the performance. Of course, since it is character animation and the toolkit is quite packed with features, it always takes a bit of time for rendering, etc.
This being said, we are always working on improving this toolkit and we are currently studying how this can be improved even further, in fact we have an internal beta that should give better performance, and chop a few seconds from rendering and caching. Right now it is only available for one of the characters, but if you would like to try it out and then give us your feedback, it would be great!
In that case, it is best to contact me directly through the message box on our profile page, so that I will be able to send you a link.
Many thanks! Stephan
Hello, I just tried auto lip sync of Character Animation Explainer Toolkit. It doesn’t work for me. It’s AE CC2018 on my laptop. I followed every step as help video 21, but couldn’t make lip moving. The AE gave an expression error of lip sync controller. It seems that the parameters in that controller have trouble to work. I wonder if that error is the main cause of not-working, how to troubleshoot this case. Thanks a lot!
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us!
It should work normally on CC2018. Is it possible to send me a couple of screenshots of the error, and the problem. So that I can have a look at it and identify anything that might be wrong.
We have also replied to your email. You can send the screenshots directly over there.
Many thanks! Stephan Zammit
Hello Stephan, I caught a cold this weekend, so, sorry for late reply. And thanks for your rapid email, I found it this morning.
I solved the problem now, after watching the last help video. Yes, the AE version I used is of non-english localization (Chinese). After changing to “both channels”, the auto lip-sync magic could be reproduced perfectly on my laptop. You guys rock!
Regards, Poor
Hi, Thank you for getting back to me. I am very glad that it is working well for you
Of course let us know should you need anything from us
greeting,
when I DOWNLOD THE your product there wasn’t any Scenes or objects there please advice
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us!
You can find all the objects and assets related to scene design, in the Scene Designer. When you unzip/ extract the file that you have downloaded you will find a folder named 03 – Scene Designer. Simply open this and open the Scene Designer in After Effects.
The Scene Designer contains around 200 objects and an other 100 Coronavirus related icons, from which you can build up your own scenes.
You can find an overview of the Scene Designer in the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoJnKv3TKHYThank you for replying. The objects didn’t appear until I restart AF .. I have a question My license is regular can I make video some of the content from your products what my legal status here. Please don’t refer to your FAQ or your license page because I didn’t understand nothing there. Thanks
Hi, yes you are free to produce a video using our product, under the regular license. An extended license is only required if the end video is going to be sold directly, for instance as movie tickets, or DVDs or ondemand video, etc. If the video is going to be shown for free, for example as an advert or youtube, etc, then you are covered under the regular license.
Simple Question: I created a character and added a walking cycle. This happened. I’ve done nothing else. Any idea why? https://tfccommunication.slack.com/files/U0C0MM010/F01END5JGDN/screen_shot_2020-11-03_at_3.56.20_pm.png
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us!
Is it possible to send the image via an other service please, as we don’t have access to it there. You can also email it to me on stephanzammit@neuronfx.com, just refer to your videohive username, so I would know it is you.
Many thanks!
Hey everything here looks great. One question, does this contain any outfits that depict different cultural garb?
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us! Very glad you like the product
Apart from the western style characters, it has 2 Arab Characters that are pre-made. You can then of course combine different elements of the toolkit to create your own clothes and characters. For instance you can change skin color, add skirts, etc.
You can find images for these here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bxalkws8t67ihlo/Character%2032.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/b2ju4pwtq54regg/Character%2033.jpg?dl=0Hi, just started using and when changing elements of the face i.e. ears, eye brows, nose. Everytime I select a different style it disappears and even when I go back to the original style this has gone also. I’ve tried multiple characters. I’m using AE 17.1.3 on a macbook pro. see: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZjS81OmJglGQnzbgFktyrVj6Mors5rH1/view?usp=sharing Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
This normally happens when you use the slider to change the value rather than typing the value. Basically many times the value would be for example 4.01, and this won’t be readable by the software. When inputting values, simply make sure that you input whole numbers, you can do this by clicking on the number and input for example “4” using your keyboard, making sure that it is a whole number with no decimals behind it.
Of course let us know should you need further assistance!
Perfect fixed thanks! Also overall I found this very eay to use and will save me days of time building my own characters for my movies. Thanks!
That’s great to hear!
Should you have a second to spare and would like to help us by leaving a rating/ review, they mean a lot to us!
Of course should you need any assistance with any of the products let me know!
Hi. I was looking at YouTube tutorial to see how the toolkit works. And I saw in your clothes design video that you were putting bow tie, jacket, belt on the character but it was not going on correctly. The character was facing left side of the screen with body turned a little toward left side too. But the bow tie, jacket and belt you put on was facing the screen, and it was looking out of place.
Here’s a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/Y2kAjFb.png
See how the character and the whole body is facing toward the left side of the screen from our view. But the belt, bow tie and jacket is facing front. Doesn’t it look odd? Was this a mistake while you were making the tutorial or this can’t be fixed?
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us!
This is, because there is separate rotation control for the body and head. So basically you can rotate the head and body individually. In this case you can rotate the body to the left as well so that it faces the same direction of the head, or you can choose to rotate it to the opposite side. This is like this so that the user will have greater freedom as to how the character is animated, etc.
If you have purchased the product and would like further assistance, you can contact us through the message box available on the bottom right of our profile page, using the account that the item was purchased from. I haven’t purchased the toolkit yet. I am considering it. But I want to get answers to the questions I got by watching the tutorials first to fully understand what is possible and what is not in the toolkit.
I think you maybe misunderstood the question. Please see the screenshot I attached. That is taken from your tutorial video. As you will see that the whole character is slightly tilted to the right but the clothes accessories that you added (bow tie, jacket and belt) are facing the screen/toward the camera. And that is looking very odd.
Is it possible to make them in the same direction that the character is facing?
Hi, as for the image, it is not letting us to view it, as it is saying access denied. Is it possible to use an other image service maybe?
This being said, I have taken a look at that video, and it looks like you are referring to the body rotation from what I am seeing. I have taken a couple of screenshots of how the character will look when body rotation is applied.
This one is for the character you are mentioning: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ane6vxwxprp0kjx/Body%20Rotation%2001.JPG?dl=0 While this one is for a more thin character, in which you should be able to see it better: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zy2d5p3adwjeay6/Body%20Rotation%2002.JPG?dl=0As you can see in the screenshots, the buttons, etc are facing left like the character.
Let us know should you have further questions
hi I love it very much Its actually have what i want to do except animals ;(((
Im very sad for that Cause i want to buy and use your tool But first of all the video will be about animals
If i add another toolkit’s animals Wont be look like familiar What can i dooo Please heeeelp
I want to use this cause it looks like easier than the other examples
Hi thank you for your feedback we are very glad that you really like this and very sorry that it doesn’t have animals! Thank you so much for letting us know about this need, it is something we will consider to add in the future!
Hi! very good product, I just bought it today and I am starting to discover it. My question is : how to use the 180 body rotation? (I don’t find any answer in the manual). Thanks!
Hi, thank you for your comment and feedback, glad you like the product!
Regarding the 180 degree body rotation:
This is split into different sections, so you will have complete control on what to rotate.
Head:
You can rotate the head, using the Head Control layer, simply drag this around, and the head will rotate to look at this control layer.
Body:
As for the body, in the ‘Character Animation Suite’ effect, you will find a feature named ‘Body Rotation’. Simply rotate this, and the body will rotate with it. This will be mostly visible when you have a belt, chest, belly or a patterned top, since you will see them moving from side to side.
To continue emphasize the effect, we have also included a number of features that can come in handy. I’m going to list them below:
Leg & Arm Distance:
In the Character Studio > Legs > Leg Shape, you will find distance. By increasing the distance the legs will be more apart, making the legs facing forward. When decreasing the distance to 0, they will be in front of each other, as if you are looking at the character from the side. Similarly there’s the Arm Distance, which you can modify for the same effect.
This way you can rotate specific parts individually if needed or combine them together for a full body rotation.
Hope this is of help to you. Of course if you have any other questions or concerns don’t hesitate to ask, we will do our best to help you out!
You can also email me directly on: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com
Kind regards, Stephan Zammit
Thanks a lot for your help! it is all good! I found the options in the compositions! really great job! Best regards
Hi, that’s great! Glad you are enjoying the toolkit. Of course, we are here to help should you need anything!
Does it requires a plugin?
Hi, no this will run directly in After Effects and you do not need any other plugins.
Hi. I have some problems with your character animation package. Every time I import a character within the projects it is deformed, and it happens with all the character. Could you tell me a solution?
Thanks u in advance
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us!
Can you send me a couple of screenshots, so I can have a look at this and identify any issues. We will get back to you as soon as possible!
You can send them to me directly on: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com
i send u an email with the problems
Hi, I am checking my inbox but it looks like it didn’t get through… Are you sure you are using the correct address?
Just a quick tip which you can try:
Normally similar issues are related to the expression setting that your After Effects is set in.
When you have the project opened. Go to File> Project Settings. From here go to the “Expressions” Tab. Make sure that the expressions engine is set to Legacy Extendscript, and not JavaScript. If it is set to JavaScript simply switch it to Legacy ExtendScript and press ok.
Can you try this out and let me know if that helps?
Many thanks!
Thank you very much. I solved the problem and now I can work with the characters. Thank you very much,
cordial greetings
That’s great to hear. Glad that its working well for you Let us know should you need further assistance.
Hi, NeuronFX whenever I apply typing effect on a character, it’s both hands appear to be horizontally flipped. Please tell me it’s solution. Screenshot is also attached on following link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dRrYcQ04yUq6sKL8OnsOF-7gJFqmTYl0/view?usp=sharing.
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us!
For certain animations, the hands may face the opposite direction, since they interact differently to the other animations. This can be easily fixed/ adjusted. We have added an easy to use switch for this, to simply switch the hand orientation. To do this go to the Character Animation Suite, and from effect controls, you will find a feature named hand orientation, you can tick these to flip the orientation for the hands, and of course you can even animate this on/ off where needed using the stopwatch right next to it.
You can read more about this in the included user guide. You will find this in page 48.
Hope this is of help, of course let us know should you need further information!
hi. I have bought Regular Licence of Character Animation Explainer Toolkit for $59. In Adobe AE I have tried all animation presets but they do not work. Why it can not work? Should I buy Extended License to be able to use animation presets?
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us! The Regular license will have all the features like the extended license.
You might be doing something wrong when applying the presets.
In the included User Guide, on page 46 you will find an image that explains this process. Have a quick look at this, basically make sure that the parts outlined in red, are both selected before you double click on the animation you want to add.
Hope this is of help to you, of course should you need further assistance, we are here to help!
Hello, I want to buy this templete. Templete looks very great. But I have question: 16 gb ram and i5 enought?
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us! I think this should be enough. You might see a slight lower performance compared to what is usually required, but you should be able to work with it. In the character there is a feature named: boost performance, which might be of help in this case to use while you are working with it. Of course let us know should you need any assistance along the way!
can i walk characters to straight path
Hi, thank you for your interest! Yes of course
We actually walk you through this process in the detailed tutorial video series that is included with the toolkit. The video for this part is video 19, where it shows how you can take your rendered characters and make them walk from side to side. You can have a look at this here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_45_RCuXLQ&t=249sOf course feel free to watch the other videos to see more features that are included with the toolkit and how they work!
