Is it possible to embed video instead of stills in this template? If so, I’m all over it! Thanks in advance.
yes of course! If you have any issues, let me know!
Hi Have bought this and it’s a really nice piece of work. Have used it on my first project and was wondering if there was a way to smooth the transition between compositions as there is a really nice slow fade across the images then it skips quite suddenly to the next set. Can this be done easily? Many thanks
I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to say in regards to fade between compositions. I assume you mean crossfading between each of the shots? This is possible but would require a few steps. Can you send me a message on my profile page and then I can guide you through the steps.
Cheers, Mark
Thanks Mark, I would greatly appreciate it!
Hi there! Send me an email on my profile page and I will give you details of how to slow down project. Cheers, Mark
Hi Blue,
Is there a way to slow down the slide show? It goes though the images fairly quickly.
Thanks!
Sorry, there is no way within After Effects to slow down the images without dramatically affecting the quality of the project. You could export your project and attempt to do this in editing software, but I would not recommend it. In general, reducing speed produces unpleasant, jittery and blurry footage.
Cheers, Mark
I will investigate a simple way to slow down the project and get back to you. Cheers, Mark
hi i just wonder the photo frames are 3d video or 3d from the AE?
Hi there, frames were created in a 3D program and then exported for After Effects. Cheers, Mark
i see so it’s 3d object instead of a export it as video…
The project allows you to add your own photos and text and export it as video as seen in the preview video
THis template has sheen updated! The update addresses several comments about long render times. The project now renders up to 4 times as fast as previous version. If you purchased the project before October 16, pleasure re-download for free. Enjoy!
Hi there, thanks for purchasing. Long render time are unfortunately inevitable with this level of complex layering of effects, lens blurs and compositions. One thing you could check is the memory allocation in your preferences. Make sure a majority of your ram is allocated to after effects. Also, make sure it is set up to render multiple frames. This might speed things up a bit. I attempted to setup the project so it was simple and straightforward to add your text and images and just set to render overnight. In my machine, which has similar specs to yours, it rendered in approx 3-4 hours. If you have any issues with the render, please message me. Cheers
Great work @bluehatdesign. I was wondering if you had a link, or any tutorials on faster render times?? I just recently upgraded to CS6 , and edit on a 2011 series iMac with a 2.7 ghz, 16gb ram, and a TB of memory. After finishing your tutorial, im looking at a 10hour render time for a 1080p product. Is that a normal time frame for my machinery in your opinion??
This is a really beautiful project. Nicely done!
I have a top of the line 2011 Macbook pro with 8 RAM & it took me 4 hours 30 mins to render out the CS6 prerendered flares version. Is that normal ? Thanks…
Hi there, yes, that’s normal! Hopefully you are happy with the result. Because of the complexity of the project, particularly using camera lens blur, and multiple layers of film noise, particle systems and flares, large render times are unavoidable unfortunately. I’ve tried as much as possible to simulate realism and the downside to this complexity is a slow render. I attempted to make the process of placing images and text simple and straightforward, so that the user can simply set the project to render overnight. I will continue to tweak the project and attempt to reduce render times without affecting the quality of the project. Cheers
No, no complaint – results are spectacular ! Just got to be very patient, start the render before going to sleep…
Ignore my last message
hi there,
just bought your work and cant wait to get stuck in
the video tutorial that is included is playing audio only… is it available online via screenr or vimeo.
Cheers Chris
Hi bluehat,
Great project, wonderfully organized. Do you have instructions on how to replace the images with video ?
Thanks!
Thanks for comments. The image placeholders are comps that can be occupied by image, video, text, etc. To place video, simply drag your video in the image placeholders and scale to fill frame. If you have any trouble, let me know. Cheers.
Thanks… I see the Replace Images folder. Are you saying I should just replace footage with videos ? Where can I find the image placeholders?
Under replace images, open up the image number (this correlates with the frame number) that you wish to place the video. Drag your video into the timeline or the preview window. When you preview the final comp, the video will be playing in the frames. Cheers
This Template has been updated! For anyone purchasing the template before September 7, this update is free. Please re-download the project file. The update addresses some minor issues affecting some users.
brilliant thanks for this.
hi, project looks great. I also have more than 38 images, can i just duplicate a section in order for me to add more images?
Hi there. The project is designed around the revealing of the 38 framed images on a wall. However, if you do want to re-use the frames with different images, the simplest way to add more images would be to render the project twice (with 2 sets of images) and then edit together in video editing program (imovie or movie maker would do the job). Cheers.
Sorry to point this out, but there is a
Corner Pin error on image 28 in Shot 8 precomp.
Pretty easy to fix.
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll get onto it ASAP . Cheers
Excellent work. If I could buy this twice, I would. A logically organized project that even the roughest novice can use, yet it employs advanced techniques beyond the reach of most users.
I would be interested to know what platform / methodology you used to create and render your 3d elements for compositing.
Hi there, thanks for your comments. The 3D elements were created in Cinema 4D, and exported as jpeg sequences for compositing (I normally export tiff but jpeg keeps the file size low). I also export a variety of multipasses (shadows, ambient occlusion) to make the added composited elements in After Effects feel like they are in the same 3D space.
Hi! This is a wonderful project, thanks! I bought it, but the program gives me an error this project must be converted from version 10.0 (Macintosh 64) and will open as an untitled project (I have windows7) Help me please! (sorry for my bad english)
Hi there. If you could send me a message via my profile page, we can hopefully get this resolved. What happens when you open the untitled project? What version of After Effects are you using? Cheers
I LOVE this template, but I have over 90 photos for a wedding slideshow. Is there a way to add more photos?
Hi there, thanks for comments. Because the 38 images form the structure of the frames on the wall, adding new photos would require recreating the template from scratch. I hope to develop another template with same look and feel but with a much larger number of image placeholders in the near future. Cheers
