Hi genevieve, these files are only editable inside After Effects. Once rendered as .mov files they can be used in any standard non-linear editing program.
Hey! I have purchased this timer and am currently playing around with it in AE. Is there anyway to make the circle timer’s background transparent? I just want it to be a circle stopwatch. I’m pretty new to AE so I apologise if this is a silly question!
Hi jaydeyfit, yes there is a full configuration that you can adjust any setting, including making the background totally transparent. Hi Im very new to after effects. I want to render a round timer to have the reddish sqaure background transparent, and followed your video tutorial, rpg + alpha etc. but when it create the video the reddish background is still there. I would check that all instances are no longer working if that is the case. It’s likely that an expression broke somewhere from editing a layer name or something like that. Download the file again and see if it is a problem in the original file. Let me know.
It worked the last time I used it, which was over a year ago at least, cc2018 for sure. In CC 2019 everything works except the numbers don’t show up. Time was an issue so I just built one myself.
Ok, glad you got it sorted – I haven’t had any issues in CC2019 or CC2020, it just asks to convert up to the latest version. An expression must have broken somewhere. If you need to use it again, make sure to download the file fresh and convert it up to the latest version with a save-as.
I haven’t gotten it sorted, I built something else because this plugin is useless to me now. I did a fresh download of it, and upon opening, no text. So I won’t be using this again, guess I wasted my money.
Hi blueguerilla, I’ve just downloaded the file again and opened it in AE 2019 and AE 2020 and it’s working for me in both apps.

Have you looked through the FAQ / troubleshooting on the product support tab?
- Are you using English language (expressions throw errors in non-native English installs of AE)?
- Do you have the font installed?

Hi gibby, sorry for the delayed reply, been traveling. You may have found this solution so far, but I would recommend rendering it at the same frame rate as what you’re working with in premiere, rendered on a transparent background then you can overlay wherever needed as a video element. Either that, or create a linked comp and you can use the dynamic link to use it in your premiere timeline. Hope this helps!
Just bought it but it does not work on my Mac (64bit),AE CC19. I only see the config compos, but changes in effects settings as described have not any effect to the compos. Besides the preview config only shows a red bg. But no number in the counter. Any ideas?
Hi Kiaminrut, let me look into this. Sometimes with changing software versions things get broken, but I haven’t heard of any issues. The biggest known issue with the file is the expressions don’t work if not in the English version of AE. Try that and I’ll test the file on my end.
Hi Kiaminrut, I’ve tested this in CC19 on my 64bit Mac and did not have any issues. I did notice however that the changes don’t take effect until you scrub the timeline, so if you’ve locked the comp window to be able to see live changes, they won’t take effect until you go to the comp and move the timeline. That’s the reason I built a live preview in the main config comp. Hope this helps, let me know.

This is great but I’m trying to get it to change to 15 minutes and don’t understand one of the instructions. Please help! You wrote to: “replace the expression under the counterTime layer > Source Text with the following expression:” I’m looking at the counter time layer and don’t know how or where to place it “under.” Please help. I need to use this at an event later this week so am in a bit of a time crunch. Thanks!!

Hi I would love my money back, doesnt work correctly in my version of After Effect. The Full Width timer is full of mistake ( for example the 30 sec one) there is two timers?! And the timer goes beyond the composition size. What the hell, would really love a refund. thanks
Hi Dabbevdbrand – sorry to hear you’re having issues. If you can help me understand the problems you’re having I can try and help find solutions. This item has currently had over 570 sales, with no major issues other than expression errors for AE running in non-English language versions.

Have you also restarted AE since installing the font? Possibly try changing the font too, just to see if it registers the text and that might help identify the problem. Let me know how you go.
Love this project….however it stopped working??? I’m not able to configure any of the time settings from the _Configure comp? I make changes, but nothing updates. All of the expressions appear to be as they should be, but nothing is updating? Any idea why that might be?

Hi 2menelo, sorry for the very late reply, I wasn’t notified of any file comments. It must be an AE issue, sometimes software gets a corruption on install, I would recommend re-installing AE CC if you can. Haven’t had any issues like this to date with this file.
Can you provide a version of this that will open with CS6?

Hi George, sorry I did not see this comment. It looks like under the license, as long as you are not selling the content (only showing it) that should be fine.
Amazing comp, I just bought it, is there any way I can make the counter count from 0 to 3 minutes and not backward?
Hi Debra, thanks for the compliment. One thing you could do is just render as normal and then reverse the rendered movie clip in your video editor which would make the timer count up from zero to whatever time you rendered it for. Do you think that would work for you?
