Hello Taerar.
I’m really enjoying this toolkit – thanks very much for making it.
I’m having trouble though with the typography. I’d like to have the text stay on the screen for longer so have moved the out slider later in the composition – however this doesn’t do anything.
Thanks
Hi Lister,
I’m glad you enjoy the toolkit.
Out slider works only if you copied the text composition from “_Typography START HERE” as you can see on this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWJcHqpzXy0&index=12&list=PLU9kseFH_-G8JyPK41lQvwxeNMjn4KAJO&t=2s
In and Out markers work on the main composition, not inside the text comp so if you move your out marker inside the “simple typography” it does not have the effect you want.
Other option how you can control timing from inside “simple typography” is to select all layers, press U, and drag keyframes, however this is not as fancy as dragging a marker
Hello again Taerar.
Are you planning to make the script window dockable, or is it not possible due to something I’m not aware of?
Thanks.
Hi there, EVT4 can be dockable if you paste the contents of “EVT4 Script” to Adobe > Adobe After Effects XX > Support Files > Scripts > Scripts UI Panels. as you can see on this picture. https://i.imgur.com/q0olvGf.png
Excellent, thanks!
Hey there! Great product man, I’m working my way onto it and enjoying it very well so far! About the character customisation, is there a way to design/edit my own character/texture in Photoshop (I’m not much of a vector/shape illustrator) and have it work with the template? For example, I’d like to create a caveman character and have it animated with the template… I know that working with bitmap textures is FAR from ideal, but if there is a way, I’d love to hear about it. Thanks again, and congrats on the great work!
Hi joaobelmont, I’m glad you like the template!
Yes there is a way how to import your texture from photoshop.
As you can see here: https://i.imgur.com/BFnF16F.png every part of the character has it’s place inside the texture and you can replace or edit any part so the steps should be following:
1. Import your photoshop texture to AE.
2. Make copy of teh PS texture where you hide all layers except one. For example – Body,
3. Place your PS texture inside the main texture exactly where is body part of the texture. Adjsut scale and position so it will fit perfectly. Hide the old body shape.
4. Repeat the steps for the other parts. (I think you need to repeat this process only for Body, Body Top, Body Back, Hips, Top Arms, Top Legs, and Hair – those are textures which are “over” the main body. So you can leave the main/naked body as it is, and just change the clothes which are over it. – This way you can keep full function to change the body proportions.
When you have your new texture ready, you can use it the same way as any other texture. you can also edit the texture in PS if you just replace the old PS file with new one in project panel.
Please feel free to contact me if you need more help

Thanks a lot Frederik! I’m finding it to be an amazing tool. Let’s see what I can do from here! In case it comes out cool I’ll post you a link
Hey there! How does this compare to VT3 in terms of speed? Previous was very demanding and slow.
Thanks!
Hi syfpsy, I’ve made a brand new type of rig which makes all character animations so much faster. Basically it was the whole point of making a new version of the tookit. The characters in EVT4 have almost no latency so making animations is quick, and character compositions take just a little computing power so even compositions with many characters are running smoothly now. Also customization is much faster and easy so there are many ways how this template saves time. I’ve made the template just on i7, 16gb ram, SSD, Win10, computer and was running smoothly and I didn’t feel any need to upgrade.
Thanks a lot for the quick and through reply. Those were the exact things I would like to know.
I just experimented with the kit and while it is much faster than the previous kit, I don’t think we could say “almost no latency”. Latency is still there but it lets me setup and animate scenes much faster and easier.
Why is your toolkit better than others smilar tools, like Pixity Land?
Hi Omar, please read the item description page it is all described there. No other template in this category is as fast, flexible, simple to use as this template. I tried many. I made this template to be a tool i would personally use too and i’m happy that i can say all my goals were met.
I got the following error when trying to import typography animations, “Cannot apply “Size Spring” (PSEUDO/DUIK_Spring) effect to layer “Shape Layer 3” because you don’t have this effect installed on your system.” I am using Duik 16.
Hi Eric, Thank you for your notice, I’ll make an update for the typography animation. Till then you can fix this by installing Duik 15. (Or just it’s pseudo effects)
Thanks for the quick reply, that worked. Next question, is there a way to easily set two character animation presets (waving and walking) one right after the other? I couldn’t seem to find anything in the videos.
It depends on how experienced you are with AE. I think the best option is this: If you select all controls of character and press “u” then you can see, and copy all keyframes from one animation to another. (But 1. you will have to adjust animation a bit in between those two animations. 2.you have to be careful to copy animations to correct controlers i.e. Neck -> Neck; Body -> Body).
It is showing that this project contains expression errors.
Problem solved! Thanks!
Are the video tutorials for beginners only available after downloading? I would love to see the videos before purchasing to help determine if this is what I am looking for.
Hi ericlybbert, Thank you for your question. I plan to upload on youtube short timelapse video which will show the workflow in the upcoming day or two and the tutorials will be in the playlist too. I’ll give you a notice when it will be ready.
Thanks
Here’s the link for the timelapse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1y01EbEKvc&list=PLU9kseFH_-G8JyPK41lQvwxeNMjn4KAJO&index=2
Taerar, I bought version 3 the same day you uploaded this new version. I’m having some troubles to use it because I’m getting AE error messages, that I asume are solved in this new version; and it’s not fair not getting and “update notification” for this, even more when I purchased your product the same day you launched this new version. I would like to have an answer from you, and a solution. Thanks.
Hi Kenny, Please direct EVT3 support questions to EVT3 comments section or via email, I’d like to keep this place only for EVT4.
Anyways, Yes those issues are fixed in EVT4 so if you purchased EVT3 at that time and you get some errors I sugget to send a refund request here: https://videohive.net/refund_requests/new so you get your money back and then you can buy the new version. (you can mention that we’re agreed). This is the only option Videohive give authors for this situation.
Hi there, after i buy this template can i use it to create multiple videos?
Hi there, Yes, but only in case you create multiple videos for the same company. For example if “Company A” requests serie of 10 videos you need just one license. But if “Company B” asks for serie of videos, they should have their own new license for those videos.
https://videohive.net/licenses/faq#use-product-for-client-aHi, the kit looks great, congratulations! I ran into an error while installing. The Character Animation gives the following error: After Effects error: Can not add a property with name “Pseudo/EVT4.1 Rig Control” to this Property Group. Script file: Character 09 Dance 1.jsx Function: CompCode_20180823_125338 Error on line: 709 I’m using the latest AE English version for Mac. Can you help? Many thanks in advance.
Forgot to say, the error shows with all Character animations. Thanks!
- 1. If you want to access “Preset Effects.xml” on Mac follow this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAkkmDYSVmg
- 2. Copy all scripts from “EVT4 Pseudo Effects.txt” (you can find this file in the “install this first” folder)
- 3. Paste the scripts to “Preset effects.xml” Before the last ”</Effects>” Bracket
Installer for pseudo effects should be added soon so users don’t have to do this manually
Great, thanks! Wasn’t that installation was wrong, but a permissions issue. Mac users: remember to grant Read/Write permissions to the PresetEffects.xml file. Get info/Permissions Panel. Thanks again.
Thanks tantamount! Your info helps us a lot!
Congratulations on developing (and ruling) this genre of templates even further, great style, professional presentation video, great features! This is what I call perfectionism, nice work!
Risto thank you, it’s honour to hear kind words from you.
Hi Taerar!
I am looking to use your template to create videos for my clients! Is there anyway I can receive a universal extended license? So I don’t have to purchase a new license for every video as I can’t afford this? I plan to sell on Fiverr.com. On fiverr.com, there are many sellers who don’t buy a license for each video as they are supposed to. I am willing to pay extra in order to receive a universal extended license so I can legally sell the videos unlike other sellers on Fiverr.
Please let me know the price.
Also, are there tutorials on how to use this template? If so, where can I find them?
Also, how would we create custom props? Would we just create and import the customized prop from Adobe Illustrator? Sorry I’m new to adobe…can you let me know the process of creating and applying movements to a custom prop? For example, a syringe?
Hi epiphany101,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunatelly videohive don’t allow authors to create this multi-use type of license so we still have only those two options, regular and extended licenses. I know about this fiverr issue and many authors tried to negotiate this with videohive but they are not listening to us much.
Tutorials are included in the package in “Tutorials” folder. They cover installing, composing scenes, using various elements, character customization and every important part of using the toolkit. I plan to upload all tutorials on youtube once I’m done with a final round of small updates but for now they are available only inside the package.
Custom props can be imported the same ways as you always do in After Effects. You can import anything from AI, PS or combine with other AE project.
If you want to use EVT4 animation presets you just: 1. Select your custom prop layer, 2. Drag animation preset from “preset effects” panel on the selected layer 3. Add marker where you want “In” animation and “Out” animation. 4. (optional) adjust animation values such as speed of animation and ammount of movement.
Tutorial #2 covers this technique in brief at around 3:10 – 5:30
Also, short time lapse videos of using EVT4 to create full 1 min explainer video are comming in about a week.
Hi again Taerar!
Sorry for the late response! I really want to (legally!) use your template without having to purchase multiple licenses? Is there any way you can give me your email and we do a multi-use type of license outside of videohive? Do videohive’s terms and conditions allow for this? Can you think of any way we could make a special arrangement for this type of license?
Do you have a tutorial for doing the first step on a Mac instead of a PC? I am a Mac user & the tutorial isn’t lining up with what my Mac looks like.
Hi Zack, Thank you for your notice! Please see this tutorial i think there is the correct path for Mac. Open the xml and paste the pseudo effects the same way as in windows.
