Hi, The project was made in CS6 so I don’t know if it will work in CS5.5 I know that one can save it to CS5.5 from CS6 but maybe some effects I’ve used may not be supported. I’ve not test it in CS 5.5 so I can’t provide an answer to this.

The following countries are available China, Japan, Australia, Phillipines, Malaysia. For Hong Kong and Taiwan I think you could use the China map. But there are no flags for these locations, for reason of file size and complexity some autonomous or semiautomatics locations like Hong Kong were not included.

For the city locations, if I’ve not included the map pins already you could edit it them and move them for your locations.

If you really need the flags for those locations let me know, I could generate them, you need to contact me on envato studio for this

This definitely should not happen. 10 minutes is way too much. Is not normal. The project open fine on machines with way less RAM than that.

What version of After Effects are you using? After Effects shows any error or warning?

I don’t think is a matter of RAM, the slow loading maybe depends of the HDD but that would be noticeable for other applications.

I don’t know what could be the issue but I suggest using an older version of After Effects, if you are using the latest version, and see if it works. Let me know what happened.

I tried it many times with the newest After Effects Version CC2018. It shows no errors or warnings, just takes that long time… Meanwhile it works after waiting another five minutes… I have no idea… Apart from that problem it works fine and it´s a great template, so thank you for your work and your fast reply.

Just a random factor that you can try, I know that real time antivirus scan may influences After Effects performance. Basically if you have your antivirus set up to check all files you access in real time in background maybe it looks the data transfer till the antivirus finds out the files are safe.

For example when rendering a project especially to file sequence it takes twice at long if real time scan is enabled

The intro globe is an animation, the globe can’t be interacted with, when I was creating this template the maximum file size limit accepted on videohive did not allowed for this additional feature. Maybe I will add it, I need to check this.

The template is safe for use for commercial use just make sure to check the license details in the price box. It provides information on how to use the template and in what type of projects.

Hi, This is an update to make the template fully compatible with After Effects 2018.

Adobe removed QuickTime support in their latest version so all templates that had “mov” files will not open correctly in CC2018

If you use CC2018 you should download the zip file again and use the updated template, else for older After Effects programs the previous version of the template will be ok.

I will update Europe Map Kit this week also (and all my templates that have QuickTime files in them)

Yes the maps are fully customizeble, you can add any map pin or text present in the kit anywhere on the map (or you can also add you own graphics or content)

Hi Doru, I installed CS6 and it seems to be working thank you. I just have two issues, the flags are not rendering for me in the info overlay and also when I add points and arrows to the 2d map I can preview them on the 3d map but when I export the 3d map, it keeps exporting my ‘first draft’ of the map instead of the 2d map as more recently updated. I have saved and reloaded etc but it still wont export the’updated’ 3d map? I am importing the AEP into AME to export it. thanks Doru. Mark

Glad to hear it works in CS6

For the flags, make sure all assets from the zip archive had been exported and you don’t have missing files. Best to open an unmodified version of the template and render as it is and see if all looks ok. It happens that while editing changes are made that may give unexpected results. Is a bit difficult to see what is the issue at that point. Check if all works with a unmodified version.

For Media Encoder, note that it creates a copy of the template when render.

So if you duplicate the render job inside media encoder it will render the old template as it was when you first import it in Media Encoder not more recent versions.

Just save the template you were working on with a different name (for example incremental) and import it in AME again or better add it to AME from After Effects having the compositions that needs to be render open and active in AE (you can see the timeline of that composition)

I think this issue is common and not related to my template specifically, it appears you don’t have QuickTime installed. Once you install this program everything should work fine

Thank You for purchasing the template. The answer with exact steps on how to do what you are asking is a bit too long to add it here but as general direction:

Taking any US state map, for example Texas, all states are present in MAP composition as separate vector layers. Each of these layers have “Layer Styles” applied. For the Texas Map two copies of the Texas vector layer are present with different “Layer Styles” for each one of them, and different animations and blending modes.

You just need to recreate the same setup for other states you want to highlight.

For Romania and other European countries, if Country border levels is not enough and you want region level borders I suggest Europe Map Kit.

If you have the Element3D v2 plugin you can take advantage of the 3D elevation maps, else if you don’t have this plugin, Europe Map Kit will look like this Map kit template.

To answer your question, I don’t know, I’ve never encounter this. First I’m assuming all the fonts are installed? You should not get a notice when opening the project that the fonts are missing.

First thing is to install all the fonts if you have not done this already. Then unzip the zip archive with the template to a new folder and open the template. Don’t apply any changes and just check if the fonts appear correctly. If there are any issues at this step let me know.

Not sure if apples to your case but in After Effects some time you select a font then it changes to another by itself when you copy paste text that is not standard to the western use. This happens with “strange” font types like chinese or japanese typeset or icon type of fonts like Font Awesome.

For this in the video tutorial where I show how to change the icons for font awesome make sure you follow the exact steps in the order that I do it.

This errors is quite common with templates from videohive and it appears when you don’t have Apple QuickTime installed on recent After Effects versions.

Videohive requires us to use QuickTime Mov files for video assets in templates sold here. This is because the format provides the best image quality for the end user.

But the issue is that both Adobe and Apple stopped supporting QuickTime.

Basically in previous editions of After Effects, when you install the program you are prompted to install QuickTime also, else some features may not work.

It appears Adobe stopped informing the users about this feature and they also didn’t provide a clear error code and information so the user can fix the problem.

Instead of saying “wrong video or audio format” they should say “I can’t open this QuickTime mov file because QuickTime is missing”

How to fix this:

Please install Apple QuickTime. Once this is installed both After Effects and Media Encoder will be able to open or convert these types of files.

If you already have QuickTime installed, check if your firewall is blocking network communications for a software named Adobe QT32 Server.exe.

Let me know if you have fixed the issue.

I’m not sure what you mean by blurry map, After Effects doesn’t have the possibility to continuously keep crisp and in focus the images when zooming in like how google maps behave (if you are searching for this effect). But google maps are probably in terabytes of size and are expensive to use commercially. And they were made by a corporation with access to satellites. This is a 4K template so the maps are already at very high resolution. I can’t provide additional maps expect those that are packed with the template. I’m not able to provide a refund.

No, the map is just blurry when you zoom in. I don’t mean showing more places like google maps, but the map is not hi res. It’s just a PNG that gets really blurry when you zoom in. See attached. This is not 4k….

The template is 4K, 3840×2160. As I’ve said above, because of how After Effects works, when you zoom in the map or any other image will start to get blurry because After Effects is not able to keep it crisp.

Referring at google maps, the feature I’m referring to is not about showing more places but the fact that when you zoom in it will load a new high resolution map so it will always look crisp whatever the height of the camera is.

I wanted to point this difference because After Effects have some limitations so if you need higher resolution of a certain area maybe is best to use google maps. But off course they have higher fee for commercial use comparing with this template. Just trying to help.

To make After Effects work faster you can check this page from Adobe that have a lot of important tips:

Some quick steps are to change the window preview resolution to “quarter” and fast preview options to “draft”.

At the moment when this template had been created I’ve used a computer with 8Gb of RAM and it worked fine. Not sure why on a new machine with 16Gb or RAM it works very slow.
