This error appears because of one of the following reasons

1. You don’t have QuickTime installed on your computer

2. If you have it installed, QuickTime or After Effects is blocked by your firewall

That fixed the problem thank you and you may want to update this as Quicktime is no longer supported under Windows.

Ok, I’m getting out of solutions here sorry for the trouble. For me this issue appears when you don’t have QuickTime or QuickTime/after effects can’t talk with each other because the computer firewall blocks communications.

But I’ve found another possible solution here:

Please check if this works. If not I suggest first just downloading the template again just to be sure that maybe the files didn’t got corrupted in some way.

If this still doesn’t work maybe is time to contact Adobe support because those files are fine and should work on your computer.

I read through the thread and will try the solutions offered. But can you perhaps email me one mov file from the project, that I can test. Then rather downloading the whole 2.4gig project file to see if my download was not corrupted.

Continent level outline is not included but you can always add elements on the map composition, draw shapes, or use mask in a creative way to hide parts of the planet on the full world map

For example, you can duplicate the texture map, use Color Key to remove the water, then draw a mask to hide everything except Asia, finally using Layer styles you can create the outline using Stroke, you can also add Inner Glow for style.

The tutorial is for the 2D map but the steps work the same for the 3D version as well.

In the tutorial named

04 CUSTOMIZE 3D MAPS.mp4

at around 1:00 I show how to add a Hexagon Wave Pin. You can use the same steps to add lines.

Once you have added a line layer you need to rotate and scale it to match the start and end position of what you need to present. The line will animate automatically, so if you add multiple lines and you want them to appear one after the other, you need to move them in the timeline to have them start at the correct time.

do you have a state map outline for the us map just like the outline for the whole us?

While the United States Country Map doesn’t have regions/states outlines (only country level borders), you can take any of the US states maps (for example California) and you will find all the states borders included as layers in the timeline.

I’m not sure I understand the question. What do you mean by 360 degrees map?

Can I orbit all the way around the earth and then push in a particular region? Or is the world map limited to the areas seen in the demo video.

If you are referring to the flat “entire world map”, yes, you can move the camera freely at any location, if you are referring to the “earth in space animation intro” then the answer is no, you can’t control that part, is a rendered video.

The kit was created with a module idea in mind, so for example you could disable the layer for the borders or the clouds or the city locations.

Now I don’t really understand what you mean by disabling colors for maps and ocean, please give more details

Yes, I was asking if the template allows user to disable the texture elements that are visible on the land and water (ie the mountains/topography, etc). I need a flatter (infographic type) look for the map. If no option to disable texture, are the countries themselves individual layers? thank you!

Hmm, from what you are describing you need a completely different look for the template. Probably is best to search for a different item. Is possible for this template to customize it way more than what the default look is but may require some After Effects experience on your side

I actually don’t know what could be the problem. As an author I don’t have access to how the files are delivered after purchase. Maybe there is some sort of temporary issue with the server on envato side.

I don’t have one available that have the boundaries at sea level. But you could use the land texture and the water color. Since is pretty much the same color over the water you could use it to create the missing boundaries near the sea.

Actually the problem oddly enough was just my mac and how it handles zip files that large. i downloaded and extracted it on my PC and copied the extracted files over to my mac and everything is fine now.

I do have another question though.. im creating my own key framed animation, but when i zoom in, the maps and info content seems to lose quality, almost blurry—even at full res set. is there something im doing wrong?

Yes, you change the camera animation or movements speed. I’ve prepared a camera rig that can be used to create custom animations. A tutorial is included that show how it works. If you can work with keyframes and layers then it should be easy.
