Hi, thank you for your interest, unfortunately this character will not work with the toolkit, as its shape does not fit within the toolkit’s base image.

For reference, the base image size is shown in the description in the section named “you can even import your previously designed characters into the project”, with the image marked with a ’+’. The head can be of any size and is not limited to those constraints.

Hello, Do you accept to make a story for me from your toolkit, if I write you the script ? Thank you for your help.

Hi, yes we are available for freelance. If you would like, you can send us the script and what you have in mind through my email: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com and I will be able to produce a quote for you.

Hi, I have a pre-purchase question. I will need to have voice in my animations is there a simple way in your pack to animate the mouth to audio recordings imported? Thanks.

Hi, the project currently doesn’t have automatic lip-syncing, that said it is still quite easy to animate the mouth. You can animate the mouth size, height and width using simple sliders, and these can be key-framed and animated to your liking. Normally a simple open/ close mouth would work perfectly for most scenes, due to the minimal style of the kit.

Hi, Great job. Before buying, I would like to ask one thing. I understand that there are 3 characters. An adult man, a boy and a girl. The girl is possible to transform it into a lady (40 years)?

Thanks for the reply

regards

Hi, thank you for your interest. There are actually 10 characters in the toolkit. You can see them displayed in the image preview and promotion video. You can also customize the characters directly within After Effects with the character maker of the toolkit and create any character you like!

For instance, in the toolkit there is a nurse character, you can easily change her clothes with the character maker and change her into a 40 year old lady.

NeuronFX – great kit. How can I shorten the legs? I am trying to model the character on a short friend, but the legs make him look way too tall. I have tried modifying the AI files but it messes up the animations and body.

Hi, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, the toolkit does not have a direct function to shorten the legs, as the animations are designed on a long body shape. That said, what I suggest doing, is to make the legs as thick as possible, and then reduce the overall size of the character when you are placing the animation in the scene.

You can also increase the size of the head, and stomach, to give the impression that the legs are shorter when compared to the full body. This trick was used when doing the kids and astronaut of the toolkit. There is a limit to how short they can be due to the mechanics of the toolkit; but increasing the thickness of all the body parts will help, especially since there is no limit on the head size.

Hi there, thank you for the great template! I’ve only got one issue with the animations. In the neutral character pose, the shape is fine, when using the provided animations (e.g. normal walk, or wave) the armpits sections gets very edgy, distorted….doesn’t look good (eg: try Animation: sittting-desk-tired and character woman…) Is there an easy way to fix that? Again otherwise the template ist great! Good Job!

Hi, thank you for your positive feedback! As for your question, would you be able to send me a few screenshots of the problem, so I can check this out. You can use the following address; stephanzammit@neuronfx.com

Thansk!

Hi, before purchasing I just wanted to ask about importing an ‘angel character’. This character design will have wings. Will this be an issue when importing into your character builder?

Hi, thank you for you interest. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is that the body of the character has to fit within the template character dimensions. These dimensions are shown in the item description with the section named: “You can also import your previously designed characters into the project” (the image that has a ”+” in the middle). As long as your character body fits inside that image, you shouldn’t have any problems.

As for the wings, since they are an external feature, I would add them outside as an accessory. The toolkit allows you to add external accessories directly into the animation, this way you can animate them separately from the character as well. As a feature it has, a little extra work, when compared to the automatic character builder, but users usually find it very helpful to use for external features that would be difficult to manage in the character itself. So it would be perfect in your case.

Hey Stephan – sounds great thanks so much for the reply :)

You’re welcome. Should you need anything else, we are here to help :)

Hi. Could I clarify what is the platform to be used in order to compose a video like the one you included here using your characters. Do I need after effects or is there another software that I can use? Also since there is non more CS6 around would these characters and animations still be able to be used in the Adobe’s creative cloud after effects? Thank you.

Hi, Adobe After Effects is required for the toolkit. Yes, it will work with all the recent After Effects Versions, from CS6 on wards, including creative cloud. We use it regularly with creative cloud, and it works great.

What’s up with the desk animation?? Their is no desk or chair in the ‘Objects’ folder.. surely I am missing something here…

Hi, you need to go to ‘Image Library > Objects > Office’. In the office folder you will find both desk and office chair.

If you require pre-animated scenes etc., you can go to “solids > // Promo Video – Assets > Scenes > Scene 01 Promo”. Here you will find scene 01, exactly as it is seen in the promo video. This part of the template is only intended as an example of what can be created, as preferably you construct your own scenes using the toolkit. That said, all the scenes of the promo are included in this section, if you need them.

Hi there. There seems to be missing clothes source files (.ai) in the image library folder. This is in the standard license. We are looking for the worker jump suit but can’t find it. Can you please let us know if this is an error and advise how we can locate the source file.

We need a response asap to work on for a project.

Hi, are you getting any errors when opening the After Effects file? It would be best to use the template from within the software (AE) only, and not through the source files. In the after effects template you should be able to find the Worker JumpSuit, from: image library > clothes > shirts > Worker JumpSuit.

It is not advised to modify the source files, as these are needed for the template to work. That said, if you still would like to modify the original source file, you can find this in: (Footage)\Solids\Solids\Blazer 01 Layers\blazer 01.ai (most of the shirts are contained in this single .ai file).

Hello,

I have a question before the purchase: Is there any possibility that next to the character in the video to add a picture, for example, a .png or .jpg, or a video?

Thank you for your time.

Hi, Yes of course, you can simply drag and drop the image/ picture in the scene composition, then just scale it down and place it where you want it to be.

Hey there! I’m interested in this pack for commercial use however I noticed that the extended license only covers one end product. Does this apply only to the characters you have created or can you not use the rigging tool on an unlimited amount of products? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, the licence applies for the whole product including the rigging tool. All the items on this site section (videohive – After Effects Templates) follow the same licenses, as this is the general license for this main section in the market. You will be able to use the toolkit for a single end product; for example an animation commercial. Then an other license can be purchased if you are to produce an other separate animation, etc.

I purchased the animator toolkit, and am finding it very easy to work with, especially considering all of the possibilities. However, one thing is confusing me—I’d like to edit the clothes files, but these are not available in the download link as far as I can tell. The only subfolder under “clothes” is “hats, which then has an Accessories Illustrator file, but no clothing items are in that. Clothing is not available under the Objects folder either. Were these files excluded for any reason? Thanks.

Hi, I am glad you are finding it very easy to use!

As for your question, have you extracted/ unzipped the files before opening them? If you’d like, you can send us a screenshot of any problem you encounter through our message box on our profile page. Make sure to use the account the item was purchased from in order to active support. Thanks!

Hi! wondergul toolkit, whats the best way to make lip sync?

Hi, thank you for your feedback and purchase.

To lip sync you can animate the scale of the mouth from the head animation that you want to use. In the head animation composition, you can go to the layer named Face Control, then modify the “Mouth Scale Y” values to open/close the mouth.

You can simply add keyframes by clicking the stopwatch and open/close the mouth to match your audio. Since the character style is quite simple you don’t need to go into much detail, and for most audio a simple loopable open/close mouth would do the trick.

Hi! I’m enjoying the template so far! I am wondering if it is possible to make the length of a character’s legs shorter?

Hi, thank you for your good feedback. As for the legs length, unfortunately this cannot be adjusted. That said, a solution can be to increase the torso size, head size and leg thickness, then decrease the overall size of the character, to obtain a character with slightly shorter legs. This technique was used in creating the child and astronaut characters.

Is it possible to change clothes via sliders and time remap?

...And can you say how it works for a character with black outline (whiteboard style) do the edges line up properly? Does this work or is it better only use it with coloured characters without outline?

Hi, you cannot change clothes with the sliders. Clothes are changed by drag & drop, and it might be difficult to animate them changing, as it requires some manual work. That said what you can do is create multiple (similar) characters, with a difference in clothing, then simply change from one character to the other when you need to change clothes.

As for the black outline, yes this should work normally, as we have done it before. Just make sure that you character fit within the templates proportions, and you’re set to go. The maximum size is shown in the description in the section named “you can even import your previously designed characters into the project”, with the image marked with a ’+’. The head can be of any size and is not limited to those constraints.

Hi, I want to do a lady with skirt, is it possible to put this kind of clothes?

As a general rule, clothes need to be smaller than the base image, as due to the mechanics of the toolkit the base image cannot be changed in size or shape.

This process is explained in the following help video: “Help Video – Extras – Importing Custom Characters”

That said, there is an other feature which is mainly made for external accessories, such as weapons, bags, etc. So an other option is to add the skirt later on using this feature, in the animation itself; this requires some more repetitive work, but it might be a solution if it is a requirement for you to use the specific skirt. This is explained at the end of the same help video.

NeuroFX I have my own character but it’s bigger (head and torso) than your character based image. How can i modify the character based image? The torso is shown only the part in character based image.

Hi, as for the head, this could be of any size, so you can go ahead and use that, just make sure you place it in the correct head composition, as explained in help video named: “Help Video – Extras – Importing Custom Characters”.

As for the torso, this needs to be smaller than the base image, as due to the mechanics of the toolkit the base image cannot be changed in size or shape.

There is an other feature which is mainly made for external accessories, such as weapons, bags, etc. So an other option is to add the torso later on, in the animation itself, this requires some more repetitive work, but it might be a solution if it is a requirement for you to use the specific torso. Great job guys! Can I easily replace Tom with my character in all animations? Thanks in advance!

Hi, thank you for your purchase.

Yes, of course, you can use any character for any animation. You can also use your own pre-designed custom characters (as long as they fit within the template dimensions shown in the item description).

You can watch the help video named “Help Video – Extras – Importing Custom Characters”. It is just 7 minutes, and it will show you how to do just that!

Can I replace the current character with my own design? I’m worried that It might not match.

Hi, Thank you for your interest.

Yes definitely, you can just import your own character and the template will animate it automatically. This is one of the main features of the template.

While the head can be of any size and dimension, so you only need to check about the body.
