Hi there! I am wondering whether I can also use the puppet tool in AE to make some subtle motions to a person in the picture. Like for example in my picture the person is jumping up. So far I created a 2.5d animation in PS where I separated the background and the person and made the person move upwards with keyframes. It looks nice but I would like a more 3d effect with particles, dust and arm movement, which is why I’m interested in your product. So I am wondering whether I can still create the same motion of the person moving upwards and move the arms with puppet tool with your software?

Hello and thanks for your interest. What you are saying is very interesting and you can apply it to VoluMax for maximum quality animations. There is a “advanced technics” video tutorial included in the package to learn you how to apply puppet tool to VoluMax (the underwater sequence with the turtle).

Does Volumax Pro only work with After Effects?

Hello. Yes it is only for After Effects.

How i can make more, than 2 objects?

Hi and thanks for your purchase. Actually VoluMax has two 3d objects to keep things smooth and light. But you can customize and add your comps or pictures in the main comp. Send me a private mail on my profile so I can explain you how to do that.

Awesome template !

Hi, I am very interested in this product, looks awesome! I don’t have 4K pictures to work with. Will this still work? (Of course with lesser details) Thanks, Jimmy

I can’t open the tutorials… :-(

never mind ;) found them in the download

Yes you can use your lower resolution pictures and export in 1920×1080 for example and you will have sharp detailed results.

is it possible to use it in both landscape and portrait mode?

Hello, yes you can use VoluMax on both type of pictures. In 90% of cases you don’t need to create volume behind a portrait because it’s too far away. But you have many options (3d objects for example) included and video tutorials that will explain you step by step all the possibilities. ;)

Brilliant! thank for quick answer. i give it a go and buy the product.

Thanks Stonefreak for your purchase ! Have fun using VoluMax. Gaëtan.

Is it possible to run 2K resolution vs 4K? Most of my images are not large enough for 4K.

Hi ! Volumax is in 4k but that does’t impact viewport or export speed, everything is optimized to go fast and After effects is very smart with HD pictures nowadays.

The advantage working with 4K compositions (even if you pictures are smaller) is to get extra detail and sharpness in the 3D Effects without loosing speed. 50% of the pictures used for the video preview were in 2K resolution.

To finish you export at the resolution you need to get it to work fast.

I saw this video tutorial https://youtu.be/jxbVU9LD_J0 and I was wondering can we use the Depth Map instead of the Displacement Map to do the masking?

Hello and thanks for your purchase ! Depth maps / Displacement maps give both a black and white value for the distance from camera, so yes you can use any technic that produces B&W pictures (hand painting / Bump maps / Depth maps…) and try it in VoluMax ! :)

I am struggling to download the template. Every time the server disconnects. Can I get another download link please.

Hello and thank you for your purchase. Please contact me on my profile page so I can help.

Dear Cream-Motion. No need. Somehow the file downloaded completely. Thanx again

OK glad to hear that ! :)

In After , I can not find the effect volumax controller . I use a Mac

Hello and thank you for your purchase ! This is a After effects issue not relative to the template, it seems controllers / masks are hided in your AE. This video will show you how to solve this problem : https://youtu.be/JLeFUM-m3K4

If you could implement for the next update to this amazing project a camera animation movement presets or a script to include: Forward, backward, right, up, down and camera rotating option (in z space) would be a simple tool with super fast result. Thank you.

Hi Cream Motion for your quick reply. Are we going to get another super new project from you shortly? Thank you.

There will be some new projects this year, i just need some time to work on them! Freelance work is time consuming ;)

Thank you.

Hi Cream motion for the latest video tutorials…

However, the videos from the link are very blur.

Can email me the tutorials ?

Thanks

Hello ! I am sorry but I don’t understand what you are talking about, there is no projection in VoluMax… Maybe another template ? :)

Sorry Cream-Motion, posted at wrong location. It’s also not Volumax. Sorry for the confusion… apologies again …

No problem :)

Thanks for tout purchase Pellou and thanks for comments ! Glad you found a solution ;)

Have Fun

I am getting an error saying “The command ‘SElectionner et masquer’ is not currently available.

Hi and thank you for your purchase ! Your are talking about Photoshop right ? It seems to be a simple PS Action problem. Send me a mail here so I can help with screenshot if needed: https://videohive.net/user/cream-motion

Thanks Cream-Motion. I have bought your template. If I have question, I will take it offline. Can I have your email address ? Thanks

Thanks for your purchase ! You can contact me here : https://videohive.net/user/cream-motion

Hi Cream-Motion,

My apologies, I have another 2 questions in addition to the above question:

1) when we import a still photo into volumax 3D, do we need to separate the foreground object and save the object as a .png fie then use the clone stamp tool to fill up the “holes” in the background layer (or use the fill > content aware to fill up the “holes” and then save this as a separate background layer to be imported ?

(NB: I am thinking of creating a 3D effect to turn the photo 180 degrees from left to right)

2) I read some users said they got problem with scripts. What is a script ? Do I have to install something in my AE ? If the answer is “Yes”, will it work on future AE say if AE CC 2018 is out ?

(NB: I am currently on CC 2017?

Thanks

1: yes import a foreground object in VoluMax. The best way is to use Photoshop to create a PNG. Fill content aware works great 90% of the time for the background and is super fast, you can use stamp also.

2: there is no script in VoluMax, only a Photoshop Action for the Easy Paint Tool. Everything will be compatible with future Adobe version ;)

All this is explained in included video tutorials.

Hi Cream-Motion,

Can I know whether this template can generate some movements in the still photos like using the puppet pin tool ? Eg, I saw the head of turtle moves in your video. Is this done directly from this template ?

Thanks

Yes you can use the puppet tool on your objects in VoluMax, there is a video tutorial included for puppet tool and also to create waves ;)

Hi,

Amazing work as always. I just have a quick question. Is there anyway to rotate the 3d Mesh a full 360. So that I can see the back of the head instead of the front.

The photo I want to use is a guy with a helmet. But he is facing the back not the front.

Cheers, Tony

Hi and thanks for your interest. The 3d Portrait tool has 88 possible angles male & female. It goes from side views to face and up / down. Back views don’t exist because they aren’t very useful and are much more easy to paint.

In your special case you don’t need the 3d portrait tool, just create a simple black and white painting in photoshop of the back of the character, it should work nicely. there are simple tutorials included to assit you in the creation of depth maps.

Hi,

I thought that due to the lack of detail on the back of the head it makes sense, I will use your suggested method and get the angle that I’d like.

Thank you so much for your quick response.

Regards, Tony

Hi Cream-Motion,

I hope you don’t mind me asking you a silly question, you mentioned that we need to create a BLACK and WHITE depth map but I saw in your video, there are some grey colors in between black and white. How to create this ?

Can i know whether is it very tedious and difficult to create this depth map ? And do we need to be very precise ?

Thank you

Hello, there are no silly question ! I say black and white but it meens gray also. White for the foreground, black for the background and all the gray values between.

This depth map doesn’t have to be super detailed to give you nice results, and there are tutorials and tips included to help you painting step by step in Photoshop or After Effect.

And don’t forget that you can also use the Photoshop Easy Paint Tool to speed up the process or the 3D Portrait tool on humans ! :)

Thanks Cream-Motion for your prompt reply. Can I know whether your template can animate clouds, waterfalls and seas ? Thanks

To animate waterfalls and waves on sea you can use a simple effect called turbulence in After Effects, it’s not very difficult. You just apply it on your picture with a mask. Check this tutorial for example : https://youtu.be/XIDLIqp89H0
