Hi. Very cool project! I’m having a problem where the character is not updating in the other comps once I adjust the slider for the arm and leg widths, as well as changing the torso. Could you let me know what I may be doing wrong? Thanks!
Hi, thank you for your purchase.
Are you selecting the body shape that you have customised in the character comp? In the Character comp you can select different body shapes, make sure that the body shape that is selected is the one that you are customising, so that it updates correctly. You can find a quick explanation showing how you can switch between different body shapes in ‘Help Video 06’, at around 1:37.
Hope this helps!
Hi!
I just bought Ultimate Character Animation Toolkit and I was wondering if I can put the characters in 3D space of After Effects?? I always like to work in 3D space with camera’s. So I hope you can tell me if this is possible…
Hi, Congratulations on your purchase!
Yes of course! You can follow Help Video 08 and simply turn on the 3d cube switch on the layers as you normally do (in scene 01, etc), and you can work freely with 3D cameras, as you normally do with other layers!

I want animation of unhappy guy talking on telephone and then he goes to use a computer and becomes happy. Are these motions included?
Hi, yes you can match the animations provided to create this. I would do the following animations: talking on the phone > angry > normal walk > sitting – desk. Then with each movement you have the ability to control the head and its expressions separately, so you can change position of mouth and eyes, thus you can achieve any emotion (this can be done very easily using simple sliders, and is all explained in the help videos). You can watch all the motions available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c69v3qdWto&feature=youtu.be&t=1m35s

May I draw some new cloths in ai and then import to ae and use in the character? What is the size ?
Hi, yes of course you can do this. You can draw even your own character and import it. The maximum size is shown in the description in the section named “you can even import your previously designed characters into the project”, with the image marked with a ’+’. The head can be of any size and is not limited to those constraints.
Is there any teaching video? If all are ok I will buy it definitely!
Yes of course, the toolkit has 11 easy to follow help videos to guide you through every step. Infact, there is a specific help video that will show you how you can import your own character designs into the project.
Is there any trick to self make the cloths? I am not familiar in ai and the packages is it included the cloths template? Then I can easy to follow how to draw it like the size etc. Thanks.
Hi, yes of course!
The toolkit includes a wide selection of clothes, and you can even modify clothes colors etc, directly within the toolkit. Apart from this you can increase/ decrease sleeve length, size of shoes, pants length and more. This is all done very easily within the toolkit itself. There is also an easy to follow help video just for this section.
Hello! I recently purchased the Character Toolkit. I’m trying to import a character that I designed in photoshop but I’m wondering if it’s possible to change the shape of the “character base image” in order to fit my character into the system. Thanks!
Hi, thank you for your purchase. Unfortunately, this is the only limitation of the import character feature, due to the nature of the toolkit, it needs to be within that base image to work properly. That said, the head can be designed separately and can be of any size. You can also add extra elements that do not fit within the base image, to the animation directly. This might be a great workaround in some cases. This is explained in “Help Video – Extras – Importing Custom Characters”, at around the middle of the video.
Would this work on AE for Mac?
Yes of course it works on both Mac and PC. On AE CS6 and all the other more recent versions
Interested in purchasing but wondering if I could get this as an AE 5.5 project. I saw in the comments that you mentioned you thought you have a version for that level of AE. Thanks! Chris Blair
Hi, yes we have a CS5.5 version available. You can send us a message through our profile page once you purchas and we will send it to you.
Great work, seems to be able to solve all my needs for my next project. I just need to know if it supports automatic lip sync, so that the characters’ mouth moves together with the audio file.
Hi, I’m glad that you like the project. Unfortunately at this point it does not have automatic lip sync. This being said you have full control for the mouth using simple sliders, so you will be able to scale it and position it very easily. So you can achieve the same thing manually. Thanks for your interest. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask!
Is it possible to replace models of face kids with a real face from a photo after resize it or not.
Hi, yes this is very possible. You can simply drag and drop it over one of the heads included in the toolkit, and the template will do the rest. Thanks and regards, Stephan Zammit
Hi i work on after effects cs5 on a computer with mavericks, but when i open the same file on a other computer with different os (el capitan) but exactly the same version of AE, every characters have distorsion do you know this problem
thanks for your answer (sorry for my english)
Hi David, thank you for your purchase.
Unfortunately, as it is explained in the project description, the project is made for AE CS6 or higher.I am quite surprised that is still opened in AE CS5.
Is it possible for you to open it in a more recent version of AE, as this might be the problem? We might be able to send you a separate version for CS5.5, as that is the oldest version that we have. If you would like to try that version, you can send me a message through our profile page, and we will send you a separate download link.
Hi, I was wondering what laptop or desktops you use to create/edit these templates, over the last few years I have tried to learn after effects but every laptop I use, these templates seem to crash and not work correctly. Just wanted to see what you guys use or recommend certain system requirements??
Hi, this greatly depends on the template you get, as different templates might require different power. As for this template, we have tested it on a 3 year old i7 laptop, and it worked pretty great. In fact the promotion video shown on the item page was rendered with this laptop. Obviously if your laptop is older or has lower specifications, it might work slower with After Effects templates. At least 8gb of ram and an i5 processor is recommended for any AE template.
Good work !!!
Thanks!
Good Job! GLWS, Bro =)
Thank you
Hi, is there in this project models of kids? Or just models of adult people? And if kids are where, did all animation presets work for them?
P.S. Sorry for bad english, hope you’ll understand my question.
Hi, Thank you for interest.
Yes of course, in the toolkit, there are 2 kid characters included. These are shown in the promotional material on the page. There is a girl and a boy. You can also modify these and create you own, by modifying legs and arms thickness, body shape, colors, etc.
All the animations work with every character. So you will be able to design any character or use any of the pre-made characters with every animation.
I’m trying to change the character in the “Chef – Cutting Food” animation. In the video, it appears that you just have to drag & drop another character over the “Character 04 – Change to Chef.” However, when I attempt to drag & drop a new character, it drops above or below the “Character 04”. I’m not able to drop over it to change the character. I’ve made sure the character is UNLOCKED, but it still doesn’t work. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Hi, thank you for your purchase. Hope you are enjoying your purchase!
To replace any character all you need to do is to click on the layer that you want to replace to select it. Then just select the new character, and drag and drop it on the other one while holding “Alt” on your keyboard. Make sure to hold alt when doing this as if you do not hold Alt the layer will be dropped above or below, as is happening in your case.
Thanks so much for the response. I’m enjoying the animation toolkit. Well done and easy to use.
That’s great to hear! Really glad that you are find it easy to use.
I’m pretty new to AE. I work in 1920×1080 resolution for everything I do. Is there a way of scaling the whole toolkit down to this resolution? At the moment i’m having to build the scenes in their current resolution, and then dragging the project into my 1920×1080 titles and scaling it down.
Love the toolkit so far!
Hi, congratulations on your purchase, I am very glad that you are enjoying the toolkit!
As for your question, the toolkit has a feature to render in Full HD, HD or 4K, so you can use it normally then in the end just use the full HD option. You do not need to scale it down manually, just open the composition named Render in Full HD, and the toolkit will re-size, and optimise it automatically. This is explained in the last help video (Help Video 11 – Adding Titles and Rendering).
The toolkit is set up to work in the higher resolution, so that then in the end you will be completely flexible to choose any resolution that you like. It also allows you to zoom in, get close-ups, etc, and still retain the sharp images and quality. The project is very optimised to work efficiently without using too much power. Most of the images are vectors so working or even rendering in the higher resolution won’t have a great impact on speed.

Great – thanks for that. I think i’m due for a hardware upgrade as its very taxing at the moment. I’m trying to create a series of custom characters. In the template, Body Shape 01 is linked to Character 01. I’ve duplicated Character 01, creating character 2, customised it, but I want to duplicate Body Shape 01 and customise it, to link character 2. How are the body shapes linked to the Character compositions? I understand how the heads etc are linked as i can just drag and replace but I can’t see the body shapes linked.
Hi, as a process it is similar to the others, basically drag and drop. The body shapes are hidden by default, so first you need to unhide them, then link them. For this process we have included a separate short help video. It is named “Help Video 06 – Adding New Characters”. At around 1:30 you can find the part explaining how to link the new body with the new character.
