Is there a script telling the icons to always face the camera? If so, where is it located…I can not find it?
It’s not a script exactly, but a setting. Each of the icons has the Auto Orient setting set to Face Toward Camera. Right click on the layer to get to that menu.

Great video, but I have a question. I did’t quite understand, how I can change an Icon. I’ve tried to drag a new icon (with alt pressed) into the Precomp/Icon 3…
But only thing I get is the new icon in the middle of the video, just some pixels width and height… and I can’t copy the settings from the original icon.
Do you have any explanation for dummies?

You’re nearly there
The only thing is you have to select the layer in the timeline, then drag the new layer on top of it while holding Option/Alt. Otherwise, it’ll just add it to the timeline as it did for you.

I have free trial version of after effect cs5, this means it misses some plugin, can i still b able to edit this video (edit text) if i buy it?

I believe that the After Effects trial comes with all the plugins the regular version has. Other than that, the trial is fully functional.

Love the video! How can i export it as a .swf and make it similar to the preview? (i tried: file>export>adobe flash player swf but it renders very simple shapes) thanks
I used Adobe Media Converter (or something like that) that came with Master Collection. I haven’t tried exporting directly out of After Effects. Try exporting the animation in QuickTime then converting.

Question: Is there something that is making the comps face forward towards the camera when they rotate? I added more comps and mine seem to be flipping between forwards and backwards while your seem to face the same way.

You can set each of the layers to auto-orient toward the camera. The existing layers should have that selected already. When you right click on the layer, it’s under Transform > Auto Orient, then select Orient Towards Camera.
