Hello!
Great template, I’m working on it. I’m having a problem with the parallax effect. I set the different masks but I don’t get to see the difference at all. I have depth of field activated and a transition on the focus distance from the picture to a text. Could you help me? Thanks!
Hello!
Thank you, I’m glad you are enjoying it!
I’m happy to help, but could you send me some screenshots? With your issue it’s hard to really know what’s going on without seeing the layers and results.
My first guess though would be you don’t have the parallax layers enabled via the eye icons on the left-hand side of the layers in the layer panel.
Just message me the screenshots to support@thomaskovar.com and I’ll get back to you right away!
Hi Thomas. I’ve just purchased the template and I can’t seem to find the video tutorials – could you help as I’m a novice and still learning AE!
Hello, and thank you for purchasing Double Exposure Kit!
The tutorials are located in the Tutorials folder within the Assets folder. If you aren’t seeing those, it’s typically because the download wasn’t completed when you uncompressed the .zip file from Videohive.
I would recommend logging into Videohive, on the top right select your username and from the dropdown select “Downloads”. There you can re-download the project file. It’s about 750mb, so depending on your internet speed it may take a few minutes.
If you are still not seeing them, please message me back and I’ll get to the bottom of it!
thankx your work…. duration to 10 seconds after changing.. add effects(texturex, bokeh, dust…)...after 5 second disappear…before 5 second appear…
Hello,
You are welcome! I think what’s happening is you have not extended the layers after extending the comp duration. If you zoom out on the timeline, you’ll see that your layers have to be extended all the way to frame 300 in the “Module X” composition, “Add Effects X” composition, and “Parallax Editor X” composition.
In the tutorials, if you go to “6-extending-the-project”, at 1:12, it goes over extending the layers within the compositions.
If you have any other questions, or this doesn’t fix the issue, please feel free to reach out anytime.
all changed using a rd_comsetter.jsx…but after 5second disapper….
Hello,
If you’re just extending the modules to 10 seconds you shouldn’t have to use rd_compsetter. If you did need the comps to be longer than 10 seconds, you are going to have to go into all compositions nested within the Module comps and extend the layers to the full duration, since extending the comp duration does not automatically update all the layers to extend the full length of the composition.
if this doesn’t make sense, or if you need help, please let me know!
I also wanted to mention quick, in version 3 the effects within the “Parallax Editor X” composition are hidden via the Shy Layers button, so if you extended the duration beyond 5 seconds you will need to uncheck the Shy Layers button to reveal the effects layers in order to extend those.
That might be the issue you are having. If not, you will need to extend all the comps as I previously mentioned.
The problem was solved with your help! thanks….. : )

Hi, thank you for updating your project and making it more efficient, sorry for the initial low rating but at the time it was pretty much unusable and I had a quick turnaround. Now along with its great design, it functions much much better. Excellent work….
Hi Stormycub,
No need to apologize, I really do appreciate the feedback and it helps out immensely to hear pain points in the project so that I can fix them in future versions!
Thank you for giving the project a second look with the updates. If there’s anything I can help out with in the future, please reach out anytime!

Great project – one question. I followed your sample project, but I want to include a separate background image. I’m not sure what to do so that it DOESN’T use the background from the primary image. Thanks for the help…
Hello,
First off, thank you for purchasing the kit, I’m glad you are enjoying it!
To enable a custom background, go into the folder “Step 1 – Insert Source” for the module you are working with and in the comp “Custom Background Source X (X is the module # you’re working with)” insert the custom background you want to use.
Then, all you have to do is go into the comp in the folder “Step 3” named “Double Exposure Editor X” and select the “Layout Controller” layer in the timeline, and in the Effect Controls panel uncheck the checkbox “Enable Primary Background”.
I believe that’s exactly what you’re looking for, but if not, please message me on my author profile page!
Thanks again!
