Hi Anton. How do you photo animate more than one photo in the project? I mean, if i have 20 seperate photos to animate, can i do these in the one project? If so, how? Cheers, Tim.
Hi Tim,
I also replied to your mail from two days ago. I’m sorry if you haven’t received it. I replied to the mail address you are registered at Envato with.
Anyway, here is a copy of my reply
At this time it is only possible to animate mulitple pictures in one project with a trick.
The problem is that there many comps and layers which are specificly named and many expressions refer to these names. So if one would dublicate everything these expressions wouldn’t know where they refer to because the names will be the same. Usually the workflow is like this: open the Photo Animator project, save it under a new name, import a picture, make an animation, save, render and than open the original Photo Animator again for the next picture.
However there are two resolutions. FullHD and UHD, so you could create animations for both resolutions and put them both into the render que and render them together. You could render the UHD at only FullHD resolustion so it shouldn’t take longer.
You could also make use of the 20 second length of the project and create many animations (with different footage) within these 20 seconds. You only would need to pay attantion that at the beginning of the next photo the settings are back to default. You could could do this by first importing all the pictures, allign them one after the other on the put source composition, then go into the animation composition make kayframes (for all parameters you want to use) at the beginning of each picture.
I’m working on a better way to animate more photos, but currently this is the best way.
Best Regards Anton
Thanks Anton for your speedy response.
What are the major differences between your Photo Animator and Photo Motion by integnity.com, besides yours being created 1st?
Hi there,
thank you very much for your interest in my Photo Animator!
To be honest I have not bought Photo Motion yet. So I don’t really know how they are creating their effects. But since they are talking about “projections” it sounds like they are using a technique also called “camera mapping”. This technique projects a picture into a 3D cube. Please see this video for a better understanding of how this technique works:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yHQagGyMD4This technique works very well with flat surrounded environments like rooms, generally flat grounds and walls, skies and so on. But as soon as you have uneven environments you will be limited by the cube-like projection.
That is why I designed the Photo Animator to work with many different kinds of environments. You have different layers of depth which are created based on the mask you draw. You can even make very accurate adjustments to each layer, so that things like trees will be infront of the layers behind instead of being distorted. Please see this tutorial for a better understanding of the basic workings of the Photo Animator (it also shows how to easily insert extra plates to your animation):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN0H_MQSJroSo I think these are the basic differences. Of course there are others, like supporting UHD resolution and having wind and waves effects but you can find all these extras in my description. And of course I’m working on some new tricks!
Thanks again for your interest and have a nice Sunday!
Best Regards Anton
Hi Anton, I’ve bought your wonderful animator. I’ve seen all the tutorials but I do not find a specific one about FACE MOVEMENT (like the one you did with the fox in the preview on envato website) and a tutorial about SPLASHING WATER animation (like the one with the surfer in the sea in your preview). I have to animate a champagne spray that is very similar to the water of the surfer. Can you explain me how to do it? thank you
Hi There,
I replied to your email yesterday, hope you got it. For everybody else who is interested in how I did the two shots:
The fox: I drew the second mask around the head of the fox and animated the green crossair. The weighting of the crossair is mostly on the inner part, so on the foxes nose and it looks like the fox moves it’s head. The 1st mask is drawn around the whole background (everything except the ground) and I animated the red crossair, so the foreground moves to the side.
The surfer: I only used one mask (I did this with Version 1 of the Photo Animator). I drew the mask around the surfer and used red and blu crossairs moving in opposite directions.
I hope this helps!
Have a great day everyone!
Best Regards Anton
Hi Anthon. Glad to see your great project. I have got some questions for you, please check on your email. Thanks
Hi Mujahid,
I’ll be happy to try answer any questions. Unfortunately I didn’t get any message or mail. Did you write through my profile page? Please try again using the contact form on my profile:

Nice Work !!!!
Thank you!
Hi there, i was planning to buy this just for the ending where you fly through all the pictures. I heard this part is not in the package. How can i get this?
Hi there,
thank you very much for your interest in my fly through.
I used the Photo Animator to create all the small parts of the fly through. I then stitched them together in a different AE project and applied a “time remap” effect to increase the speed. Please write me a message through my profile page. This way I get your email address and I can send you the stitching project file with some more explanation what to do.
Have a great day!

Hi Anton, Any news about the new update when will be released. Thank you.
Thank you for stopping by!
I’m still working on the update. The new features turned out to be more complicated to create than I thought. But I’m getting there. I hope to be finished in 3-4 weeks. I’m very sorry for the delay. Best Regards, Anton
Thank you Anton and I wish you good luck with the new project.
Thank you!
Nice template!
Thank you!
This is fantastic – I was wondering would it be possible to consider developing a stand alone desk-top or online versions of this. Many like myself don’t have after effects and the market potential to sell this to us would be quite good – Mark
Hi Mark,
I’m sorry for the delay reply. A stand alone version would indeed be nice. Unfortunately my programing skills are limited. This after effects project file uses alot of pre defined functions from after effects, so a stand alone version would have to bring all these functions along. And to program these functions is far more complicated than using them with expressions like I did. I talked to a friend though and he will look into it how complicated that would be and what functions do exist that one could use in programming this. So if he will come up with something I will definately let you know.
Thank you very much for your input! It is highly appreciated!
Have a great start into the week!
Best Regards, Anton
Great! GLWS!
Thank you very much!
Best plugin!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much! Happy to hear that!
truly impressive product, very helpful service. fantastic job all around! thank you!
Thank you very much, Rachel! I’m glad you like it
Cool work!
Thank you, Victor!
Great work !!
Thank you very much!
I made this video with Photo Animator + PS + AE
https://youtu.be/8kpMhingGe8Beleive me, if you prefere to take layers from photo shop, it’s take long time but the result is far better then Photo Animator. In Photo Animator, I can not succeed to move a layer without disrupting or breaking next layer. I didn’t overcome the difficulties of taking a clear mask. Photo Animator is good for wind and water animation. But the rest is a question mark for me.
Kind regards
Hi there,
thank you very much for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you had difficulties with my item. A lot of your photos have many objects (like people) in it. The more objects the more difficult it will get. However, I am working to make it easier to work with more objects. Meanwhile, if you need any help, please feel free to contact me through my profile page. I am always happy to help. Have a nice day!
Best Regards, Anton
Is there a way to add to the red mask on layer 1080_8?
Just figured it out. I had the mask blend mode set to subtract. Changed it to add and all is well.
Hi stuntabiker,
sorry for the delay reply. I’m living in Europe, so I just got to work. Happy to hear you figured it out already. Let me know if you got more question. I’m always happy to help!
Have a great day!
Best Regards Anton
B4 i buy is the Duration of every picture editable? can it go like 15mins for example
Hi there,
thank you very much for your interest in my Photo Animator.
The Photo Animator is made to animate one picture at a time. If you want a slideshow you would need to put your animations together in premiere or another editing software.
You can decide how long you want to animate a single picture. However the template is designed to animate a picture up to 20 seconds.
Best Regards Anton
is it hard to extend it 20sec manually?
Thanks for the fast reply bought it already
Hi there,
thank you very much for your purchase. Basicly you need to extend all compositions and all the layers (also the hidden ones). The particles and waves features are a little harder to extend. It is some work and the project probably gets a little slower. Maybe you could send me a private message (this way I’ll get your email address) and I can help you with it when I get home (in about 8 hours)
Best Regards Anton
hmm, that is strange. Unfortunately I don’t know why that is because the downloads are Envatos responsibility. Please send me a private message through my profile page. This way I get your email address and I can send it to you directly. I’m very sorry for the trouble.
Best Regards Anton
Hi, I will be honest and say I bought another (more expensive) item on here first that creates a similar effect, but gave up on it because it wasn’t easy to use and didn’t produce anywhere near as good animations.
Thank you so much for creating this and making it so easy to use
Hi Mellick,
thank you very much for you nice words about my Photo Animator. I’m glad it is easy for you to work with. I always try to make everything clean and easy to find and document everything in the tutorials. Thank you very much for your appreciation! This really makes me happy!
Have a great day!
Best Regards Anton
Hi Anton, well done, definitely deserves a buy! I have a noob question but only if you don’t have work to do:) How did you make your promo video from those short compositions? You started a discussion at page 11 with fast “fly through” but ihmunro didn’t continued or maybe was in private area. I guess multiple imports will do the job or maybe is not the right way?
Hi there,
thank you very much for your interest in my Animator!
The Photo Aniator is made to make one animation at a time. So my promovideo is made of many seperate animations. I created the promo video in adobe premiere, but you could do that with any editing software. The flythrough is a little different. Again I used the Photo Animator to create single pieces of the flythrough. For each part of the flythrough I used the same circular mask and added an “Expansion (off Target) animation. I also addded an expanding circle in the middle that cuts a hole into the animation. Then I rendered each part as a Quicktime PNG file with alpha channel. I then overlaped each rendered part in AE so that the expanding circle reveales the new part. At the end I enabled time remapping to increase the speed towards the end. That is basicly how I did the promo video. If something is still unclear please write again.
Have a great day!
Best Regards Anton
We are interested in using your product for commercial use. If we use multiple instances within one end product, for example 5 instances in one video, do we require a separate license for each instance or does one license cover the whole product?
Hi there, thank you very much for your interest in my Photo Animator.
Although Envato is responsible for the licenses (and they could give you an official answer) I am quite sure you don’t need many licences.
Here are the original license texts:
