Michael S. Kinney is a photojournalist and videographer with 27 years of experience in the U.S. and overseas. He is currently the sole proprietor of MSKvideo, providing videography and video editing services to clients in the corporate, non-profit, academic and government spheres. He has also provided freelance videography services to a wide variety of media organizations including WTTG-TV, WRC-TV, The Pentagon Channel, WUSA-TV, Hearst Television, Cox Television, Belo Television, CNBC, BBC, ITN, and others.
In 2008, Michael was embedded with Canadian troops in Kandahar, Afghanistan, working as the pool videographer for all Canadian television networks. In 2003, he was contracted by SAIC for a project in Baghdad, Iraq, serving as a consultant to establish an independent Iraqi media network, which ultimately became the al Iraqiya Network. From 2000-2002, he worked as a videographer for the CNN NewSource Washington DC bureau, and was a co-recipient of an Emmy Award for coverage of the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks. Prior to joining CNN, he worked as a videographer for local news network affiliates in Missoula, Montana; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-Television from the University of Montana.
