Hi, Adobe removed most of the consumer-level Quicktime codecs (in After Effects) as of 2018, so this project won’t open properly. Any plans to update this?
Hi, thank you for reaching out. This project has already been updated to support the latest versions of After Effects. It works normally on the latest AE Versions.
Thank you!
You’re welcome
Hi, I wondered if there was any way to output at 4k?
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us! Unfortunately the maximum resolution for the toolkit is 2500×1406. You can increase the final resolution of a specific scene to 4K, but it is not something we recommend to the average user, since it is quite easy to mess up the project, etc, when re-sizing the compositions. There are also some scenes that have pre-rendered elements in 2.5K.
Hey there. Great work.
I’m aiming to get this or the “Real 3D sign kit”. I noticed that the other one needs Element 3D V2.2, right? This one doesn’t? No plug-ins required?
Tks!
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us! Yes this is correct, this one works without any plugins
Hi, i have some similar problems to to others here. im using windows 10, and i have installed QuickTime. but none of the .mov assets will load. Do you have a file package that is windows friendly? its unusable at the moment
Hi, thank you for your email.
May I ask if you have downloaded the toolkit recently? In the past there was a compatibility issue with the new after effects releases, but this was fixed and updated a few months ago and should be available in recent downloads.
You can try and redownload it from the downloads page, for the latest release. Hope this is of help to you, of course let us know if problem persists.
Many thanks!
Not at all happy with this purchase. I expected something easy to use. Its not. Its extremely complicated, and the help videos dont help much at all. Theres one video which explains very very basically how to edit basic designs, and does not do a good job of explaining. Its marketed as being easy to use, I dont think it is. Even i showed it to a graphic and video designer who specializes in AE, and he said its very complicated and to render a few seconds takes hours. For me yes its complicated because im not an expert in AE, but if a guy who works in AE regularly says its complicated then it must be. Frankly, I want a refund as I was under the impression this would not be so challenging to edit and use.
Hi, thank you for your feedback regarding the project, and I am very sorry you are not completely pleased by it. As an item it is a whole package with a large array of features that will allow you to create both simple designs and also very complicated scenes. Due to this, the ease of use will really depend on what you want to create. If it is a simple design are after, it is just a matter of importing your design and rendering any of the included scenes. The pre-set settings should be good enough for this, so you don’t really need to change anything else.
That said, it also allows for full control over your scenes, and designs, like neon intensity, flicker, 3D alley ways, signs and so on… so basically the more features you use, the more complicated it can get. Unfortunately, when creating more complex scenes, there is not really a way around this, since it needs to give you complete freedom over your designs.
Of course, if you are not understanding something, or need help in any part of it, please do let us know. I will do my best to help you understand these features better. You can send me an email directly to: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com
After i downloaded it, and open it its says i must convert it, once converted it says 63 files are missing from my last project. When i go into scenes and add attachment a lot are missing.
Hi, thank you for your message. The conversion is a normal process, as it adjusts to your After Effects version, you don’t need to worry regarding that. The missing file is usually associated with file extraction. By any chance, have you unzipped/ extracted the .zip file before opening the After Effects file in After Effects? As the files need to be unzipped for After Effects to be able to read them.
This is a wonderful product so far. I apologize if this is in the tutorials, I’ve gone over them but I might have missed something. Is there a way to modify the camera movement? I see that it’s controlled by an expression. I’d like to be able to add some smoothing and maybe reduce the bounce a bit in one of the alleyway scenes. Thanks!
Hi, thank you for your message. I am very glad you are enjoying using the toolkit.
As for your question; in each scene, there is a layer named Camera Shake. When clicking on it in the Effects Control panel, there are two sliders named: Camera Movement; Camera Shake Amount. You can adjust these to any value you like to get the desired effect. Of course you can also add your own camera animation if you like or modify the existing camera animation further. As for the expression, this is what is giving it its bounce, so you can remove this expression if you don’t fancy it, simply Alt click on the camera’s stopwatch.
Hope this is of help to you. Of course if you have further questions let us know!
Amazing! One more question for now…Can i animate/flicker text individually? I’d like to make one letter in a word blink independently of the others.
Hi, yes of course, it should be quite easy to do. It can be done from within the ‘Choose Your Flicker Animation’ composition itself. Basically all you need to do is tick the ‘eye’ icon to show bot flicker and non flicker animations. So for example, show both flicker 1 and flicker 11 animations. Then select the ‘Flicker 1’ animation (which is the animation that has no flicker) and using the pen tool simply select the parts that you would like to have no flicker on. Then you can select Flicker 11, and using the pen tool select the parts that you would like to have the flicker effect on, and everything should work automatically.
Hi there, I really like this Toolkit but I have one question. Is there a way to render just the neon with attachments but without adding a scene and no motion? I am trying to have a still of the neon on a transparent background. Thanks.
Hi, thank you for your message. I am glad you are enjoying the toolkit. Yes of course, this can be done quite easily. Basically what you can do is simply go to the composition named “05 – Neon Light Settings”. Then all you need to do here is to remove the background. To do this you can tick the ‘shy’ switch to reveal any hidden layers. Then simply go the the bottom layer named “Gray Solid 1”, and switch it off by clicking the eye icon.
You can then render this composition directly, as a single image or as an animation. Composition > Save Frame As> File or Composition > Add to render queue.
(Regarding the ‘shy’switch, we have done a video explaining this feature, you can have a look at it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfn6M6N17J4&t=2s)
That's all. Hope this is of help to you and that you are finding the toolkit very useful. Of course, feel free to follow us on videohive or youtube for future products and updates.
I just bought this toolkit… I like the plug-in nature of the product but there is a problem… There is no way to create more than one neon sign without opening another instance of the toolkit file. This bogs my machine down and create havoc when trying to navigate the maze of comps.
It’s an ok product for ONE neon sign – but that’s it. Just the one sign… Sure you can have several scenes with that sign but that is IT. You can’t combine signs or scenes with other signs… there are expressions controlling the features and there’s just no way to do it without breaking one or both neon signs. It’s very complicated.
Hi, thank you so much for your feedback about the item, this helps us to continue improving it and creating a better experience for our customers.
You are right, the toolkit is ideal to generate one neon sign at a time. Basically the toolkit is a package that automatically creates a neon sign from your outline design and applies it to multiple scenes, which you can choose from and render. It of course also offers a large array of settings and options for those who would like to experiment further and create something unique.
Here are some tips regarding your comments below, hope this is of help to you!
To create multiple neon signs, it is best to select a scene that you like and render the neon sign, then simply add your new outline design and render again. This will also help to keep everything running smooth without slowing your system due to multiple signs.
You can also prepare multiple outline designs, so you can switch between different designs, and preview them in multiple scenes.
As for multiple signs in the same scene, this is not possible by default. That said, there are some workarounds for this. The best way to do this it to render the scene with the neon sign, then re-import the rendered footage as a background, and add a new neon sign over this. Of course this requires a bit more work, since the item is mostly intended for a single neon sign per scene.
Thanks! Stephan
Hi,
First of all ..amazing project!
I’m new working with after effects. Could you help me whit this…. I’m doing a Lyric video so I want in the same scene tow different text whit different flicker effect…How can I do that?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, thank you for your message. I am glad you are enjoying the project.
I would suggest to render each lyric / clip with the desired flicker effect that you like separately. So basically create one that you like using the desired scene and flicker effect, then after rendering that hit save as… and save as a different name, and do the tweaks that you require and repeat. Then simply re-import them in AE and put them together to create your video. This way you will also keep everything running smoothly and can go back to a specific saving file, should you need to tweak something at a later stage.
That’s all! Hope this is of help to you!
I think I understand your point, in fact that is what I think I’ll do. But how do I do to apply different effect in the same clip (EX. one word off and one word with flicker effect) thanks in advance
Ah ok, that is quite easy to do. The you can select Flicker 11, and using the pen tool select the parts that you would like to have the flicker effect on.
Thank you so much for your kind email, the problem was from me because in the RENDER FHD comp I dropped the design comp instead of throwing the scene comp! “Silly me” ..My problem solved, also the flicker thing, at the begenning there’s a layer called “No flicker” I forgot to un-eye ball that.. “Also silly me!” ..Your project is wonderful & everything is absolutely fine with me now, thanks a lot.. Now, I’m proud to give you the decent & clean Five star rating my HERO! Wish you a very pleasurable night :-*
Hi Rhea,
I am very glad that it worked out great for you! Very happy that we have been helpful. Thank you for your positive feedback, truly appreciated!
Hello,
Everything goes okay with me except for rendering.. When I preview the final scene no movement happen, and the scene freeze, also when I open the “Place your design here” comp, when I preview it does not flicker although I toggled the eye ball for the type of flicker I want, you made so wonderful job by making 12 help videos bundled with the project, no author here make all this effort to help clients, I followed your videos step by step but when I try to render I receive the error message: After effects error: D returned invalid max_result_rect from PF_cmd_SMART_PRE_RENDER (25::237)
After this after effects crash millions of times before I succeed to reach to the final result.. I made some google searches but still no luck, and I believe based on my searches it’s one of the effects that stop after effects from rendering or preview the scene but I’m absolute After effects beginner, so your VERY KIND help in this disaster would be like a call from heaven! My app is After effects 2018 build 15 My machine Alienware 15 R3 RAM 16 Graphics card GTX NVIDIA 1060
I truly appreciate your immediate help as this is my surprise for my fiancee
Warmest wishes,,
Hi Rhea,
Thank you for your message. As for the flicker, this flicker won’t be visible in the “Place your design here” comp, as this is an effect that is added over that comp at a later stage, so everything seems correct with that part. It will however be then visible in the final scene, and render.
As for the error; It seems that the problem is not directly related to the project, but it could be related to the installation of After Effects on your system (such as corrupt installation, etc). We have responded to your email and provided some possible solutions that might help.
Hi Just bought this…none of the footage components will load. CAn send pic…but no place to load one
Hi, thank you for your message, you can find some tips regarding this below:
Have you unzipped/ extracted the file before opening it in After effects, as after effects is not able to read files from the zip file.
If this step was done, normally this problem is related to Quicktime player, which is sometimes required by after effects to read certain file formats. If you do not have this installed, you can download and install it for free directly from apple’s site: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL837?locale=en_GB .
Hi ther, just bought the Project. The link on the PDF for “Neon Lights” opens an “Error” page. Cano you guys send me the correct link? Thanks. paulommserrat@yahoo.com.br
Hi, thank you for your message. We looked into the issue. It looks like the font has been discontinued. That said, we have found a similar font that should give a very similar result. You can find the link here: http://www.fontspace.com/bastien-sozoo/beon
It is free, and has an open font license, so you can use it for both personal and commercial work.
For some reason, I can’t open any of the tutorial videos!
BTW…Can we change the music reactor to my own shapes…?
Hi, thank you for your message. What is the video player that you using? The help videos are in .mp4 format, we normally open them in the normal windows video player. If this is giving you problems, we recommend to use something like VLC media player, which is much more universal when it comes to formats, although, .mp4 is quite a normal format, that should be read by most players. Of course if the problem persists get back to us so we can help you find a solution.
As for the music reactor, this is mainly designed to use as it is; that said, you can still draw or paste a path/ mask on the ‘select music’ here layer. Then from ‘effects controls’ panel, simply change the ‘path’ to the mask you created, for instance ‘mask 1’. The Audio reactor should automatically go around that path.
I want to buy but I am completely new to After Effects. Is this easier or is your other Neon Tool a better choice for a complete true starter. I do know Ai and PS
Hi, our ‘Real 3D Neon Kit’ is more recommended if you are completely new to After Effects, as that one is more aimed at new users. Just keep in mind that you will need the Element 3D plugin to run that one, as shown in its product description.
I’m getting an error message when I open it in AE- “Source File has no importable streams” Am I missing something? Email me at todd@theaustinbeat.com please!
Hi, thank you for your message. We have sent you a reply through the email you gave us. Thanks.
Very worthy work! it will bring you a lot of sales !!! Good luck !!
Recently I purchased this mock-up kit. Question: Which “Help Video” shows how to auto-trace an image? It would be nice if you included a more comprehensive Read Me file that explained in more detail the purpose/function of each of your Help Videos. Trying to find specific examples wading through each video is time consuming and difficult. Thank you !
Hi, the auto-trace function is explained in ‘Help Video 01 – Importing Neon Designs’, at around 10:00 of the video.
Also, thank you for your feedback; we are looking to update the video structure in the near future, to make sure users get the most out of the product.
Excellent thanks again.
You’re welcome. Just just us a message/ email if you need further help!
I followed your instructions on auto-trace but I have a problem. Is there any issue with tracing an image on a transparent background? Perhaps some advice, I am trying to trace a “globe” image. There are three (3) parts of the image, 1.) the solid circle, 2.) cross hatched long/lat lines (grey) and 3.) a lower image super-imposed on the top layer. If I scan the solid circle the result is a solid white screen ? I cannot get a scan to work on the cross hatched lines, as it doesn’t seem to recognize the lines at all? I can send you examples if you provide your email?
Hi, yes of course you can send me an email to: stephanzammit@neuronfx.com.
Normally, you can get a good result on most logos by playing a bit with the settings. I can have a look at the examples to help you further.
