can you arrange the placeholders to create a custom length clip, for example 30 second?

You can adjust the duration and make a length from 0:41 to 2:20 without specific actions. But if you want to rearrange layouts you need to adjust some animation keyframes. It’s simple but requires some handy work.

If I understood correctly it’s not a problem. Project uses Force Motion Blur Effect and this effect requires more time to render rather than standard motion blur effect, but gives more smooth result. You can increase the render speed by disabling force MB. Simply turn off layer called Motion Blur in the final composition and enable regular motin blur switch.

You only need to open Layouts folder and open all comps from the media folders. Media 35 located in the Layout 5 media folder. Also this media used as transition in other several layouts. Open it and change.

This takes me over 3 hours to render with a GTX 1080, 32gb of ram and a i7 6700k. What’s the go?

Yes it’s heavy render project. You can reduce smoothness amount to increase the render speed. It’s hard to render because this file use Force Motion Blur instead of regular and make all solids and layers more smooth. You can find smoothness controler in the Final comp – Controls layer

Even after disabling smoothness it stills renders extremely slow
Honestly I don’t know why it’s slow, but you can try to disable Force Motion Blur (Final Comp – Layer #2) and enable regular motion blur and set the MB switch for all layers in the final composition. But why not to wait few hours more and get a very good and smooth result?
