We are thinking of buying this template for an internal company video. Please can you tell me if the duration can be altered? Your promo video says it’s 70 seconds long but our video will probably be 3 – 5 minutes.

The whole project was made in After Effects so depending on your level of expertise anything and everything can be changed. However, I will add the project is not set up to have a modular timeline where scenes can be quickly lengthened or shortened because its only one camera panning from one area to the next for the whole duration. You will need to move the keyframes of the camera so it stays on a specific area for the time you need it to be there before moving on to the next area. Also make the time/length of composition longer if needed. If you have more questions please feel free to send me a message via my profile page.

Hello, I’m actually working with “Notebook” and some things are ot clear for me. Also I can’t find nothing in help file. For example: How to add sound ? (the way I’ve seen in a tutorial in web do not work) Also how to make the sound silent to the end and some other little things.

Everything in the project is made up inside After Effects (no 3rd party software), so depending on your skills anything is possible.
I also am looking to slow down this video. I tried to stretch the time from 100% to 400% on specific frames thinking it would work to slow down the video on the frames that are hard to read but it didn’t work. What else can I try?

There is no one way to render a project – it depends on your specific needs (is it for web, TV, dvd, etc). The file format and render settings would depend on what you would end up using it for. Lots of tutorials on the web if you are unsure.

Solution in case anyone else ever has this issue.
As a novice, I did not understand that after one installs the full version of CS5 .5, you need to open AE and then insert the “Content & Installation Help” disc.
The extra effects automatically start loading. Thus, my problem is no more.

I love this unique template, The Notebook. I have just installed CS 5 .5 and I am an extreme novice at all of this software. I have worked with PhotoShop Elements 6 and PowerDirector 10 (a little).
When I opened the template, I received the following message.
“This project contains 5 references to missing effects. Please install the following effects to restore the references. (“CC Image Wipe”)”
I cannot find anything online to instruct me what to do to remedy this issue.
Would you kindly provide me with detailed directions?

Regarding your issue, someone has asked me a similiar question on a different template, and I’m not sure what the solution is because I’ve never installed ‘extra’ plugins to my After Effects, only use the standard effects that came with it. But have a look at this.

I think you have to enable “Available for freelance” in your profile settings in order for people to be able to contact you. Do not have your details.

I’m finding that the time that the camera spends on media items (the one on the bottom of the first page and the 4 blocks on page 2) are too short.Would you assist and bullet point out if possible on AE, on how to “extend the length of time” of just those boxes where the media portion is input.

Hi, send me a private message if you want more info, but to answer your question – if you don’t really know AE that well and you want to pause or slow down certain parts my suggestion would be to render your project and that edit/slow down relevant parts in video editor software like Premiere Pro or Final Cut (this has worked for other buyers with similiar concerns).
I love LOVE this template. It came as part of the birthday bundle and I didn’t think much at first glance but after working with it, I appreciated the ease of use and the quality output.

How easily can we edit the background image (the table, notebook, etc) and how easily can we edit the text messages?
Hi, the text is really easy to edit, and explained how to do it in help file that comes with the project.
The table and notebook can be substituted if you have some After Effects knowledge (replace the ‘photo’ of notebook in the relevant composition), just make sure its more or less the same size as current ones otherwise your text and other info will run off the sides.

This is a GREAT file to work with. I’m trying to minimize some of the camera “shake” – is there an easy way to adjust that?

Have a look at the properties of the Camera under layer 1 in the Main Comp. Under Transfrom options are Position settings. You will then see there is a Wiggle expression in the timeline. Delete this (or change the settings). If you get stuck send me a private message.

It depends on what you need it for and how big the file size can be, but I render files as Quicktime, and under format options but the compression type as ‘photo – jpeg’ and quality as ‘high’. There some good tutorials on the net regarding rendering from AE.
