I have another question for you! I was able to delete the wood background layer but is there any way to make the background layer transparent?

I have a few photos are are smaller than the frame. I was able to remove the frame but when I have a small photo there is still a layer of filter where the picture should be. Am I able to remove this layer so I can use smaller photos? Thank you so much.
