Exactly what I was looking for. Is there a way to stop the numbers for a second before they start spinning?

Hello, is it possible to use characters instead of numbers? If I want to have letters rotating? to spell words etc/ Thanks.

No, sorry. The project is specifically designed to be a number counter.

Hello! very nice. will it work in AE cc 5.5?

A version is saved for CS 5.5 that comes with the project. It should work. However I do not have a copy of CS 5.5 to test it on, the project was back-saved from CS 6. There is no reason that it won’t work with CS 5.5.

Hello! Great job. You have a wonderful and professional portfolio! I wish you big sales! By the way, I’m looking for cooperation with the authors of VideoHive. If you want, you can use my music (with a watermark) in your videos. Just choose what you like. In turn, I will place a link to your work on my page (my page already has an example). If you have any questions or suggestions, just let me know :). Good mood and good luck!

can you disable the camera and just have the odometer stationary?

Sure, you don’t need to use the camera and deleting it will not break the project.

Hi, I’m thinking of purchasing, but does it work with After Effects CC 2017? Thanks.

It should work fine. It was created in CS6 but all later versions of AE should open the project without any issues. It definitely works with CC2014 and CC2015.

Hi. I want to buy your product but I need an odometer to show our company savings in millions. Is there any way to increase the amount of numbers from 6 to say 10 numbers (to show eg. 231,000,000). Thanks.

Hi, I’m sorry but that’s not as easy as it sounds. After Effects itself has a built-in limit that only allows animation from 0 – 1,000,000. I didn’t add the 7th digit as it could only go from 0 – 1. So the current project is limited to 6 digits because that’s a limit built into After Effects. I suppose you could use the project as a starting point, but delete all the expressions and animate everything manually but that’s not something for a beginner and not something I could offer to help you with. So until Adobe make changes at their end I’m sorry but you are best off looking for an alternative project.

Thanks for your quick reply. Oh, I didn’t know that. I only asked because I had seen another odometer with 10 digits on this same website (using After Effects). Maybe they used some different type of coding? I am not an expert in that. Keep up the good work.

Hi all. Please note that the project has been updated to include universal expressions. This should fix all problems that people have had with non-English installations of After Effects. Existing purchasers should download the updated project files.

Hi! I Have the same problem that Rico Paiva. I bought the Odometer but it doesn,t open in After Effects CS6. I Will send you an email like you suggest on yout reply. Thank you.

I’m sorry but I have 4 expressions error when I open the file. I’m on the CC 2015 version… I cannot make it working. Can you help please ? There is no “slider” option on the layer “number to display” but “Curseur” option… and in the blue text, it’s just written “number”, that’s all. Thanks for help !

Thanks for your purchase. Sorry but the current project uses expressions that rely on the default English language installation, and the problems you have are caused by a non-English installation. I have plans to update the project to work with international versions but haven’t done it yet. If possible can you change the language to English? If not, contact me directly for a refund.

Could you please tell me how to export numbers on a seetrought background ?

Thank you in advance

Hi, Thanks for your purchase. The help documents that came with the file include my personal email address. Please send me an email so I can reply with detailed instructions and screen grabs. The process is simple, but in addition to turning off the background layer and foreground mask, you also need to use a codec that supports alpha channels and ensure you are rendering with RGB+Alpha.

It took me a lot of time to figure out how it works. You should put the working version by default so people don’t get frustrated when they install it first.

I am taking your advice and uploading a revised version soon.

Hi! I can’t get the numbers to rotate… I changed the number to 1965, which is the number where the odometer needs to stop. But when I hit the preview, all I can see is the odometer enlarging, no rotation of the numbers. I tried to look at the help document but really can’t figure this out. Help!! Graziella

Hi Graziella, Thanks for your purchase. In order for the numbers to animate the number value needs at least 2 keyframes. You need to click on the stopwatch icon for the number control to enable keyframes, and when you change the number a keyframe will appear in the timeline. The numbers will animate between the different values you set. You can check the After Effects help for more information on keyframes – but the important step is to click on the stopwatch icon in the timeline.

Hi! I bought the Odometer but it doesn,t open in After Effects CS 5.5?? Can you help me please? Thank you.

Hi Ricco, I have saved a version of the project to work with CS5.5. The help documents that came with the project include my personal email address. Please email me directly so I can reply with the project file attached. I do not own CS5.5 so I can’t check the file myself, but it should work as it does not rely on any features that are new in CS6.

I bought the Odometer number counter, but the numbers don’t move?? Is there something wrong with project? Thanks AJ

Hi AJ, To make the numbers move you need to set keyframes for the number values. The first picture in the PDF help file that came with the project shows the layer to adjust, and the parameter you need to keyframe is circled in red.
