Are these just flat files? Do they have an alpha channel so they can be used as an overlay?
Yes these are just flat. But with the black and white version you could use that either a luma matte or use a transfer mode to blend it on your footage.
This is really nice, and how cool would it be if some equations would be in the process of being written 
it would be cool but it would take way to much effort. I have almost 200 math elements in here.
