I would like to add some effects behind the 3d model, how can I add a smoke effect for example without transforming the monitor and keep the effect just behind the 3d model and apply it on the BG only?
You can place the additional layer (effects/smoke) just above the scene BG. Keep in mind to disable the “shy” layer button (can be found in the timeline) first to see all layers.
How can I edit and change the Background color?

Hi, I have bought a few products of your’s and absolutely love them. The tutorials help beyond belief! I scrubbed through the comments and I saw someone had asked you about the brightness of the mac screen. I’m on the E3d layer and I’m trying to brighten JUST the MAC SCREEN but there are a million attributes. I’m not having any luck. Can you please walk me through that?
All good, you just have to go into e3d and adjust or turn off the screen texture.

Finding a way to fix the Shadow Catcher issue is driving me crazy!!! I’m able to replace the iMonitor.obj but I can’t find a way of enabling the shadow in the model. I really need help with this!!

Really sorry for the inconvenience already caused! What you have to do is place the “disc_plane.obj” (which is the shadow catcher the same way you already did with the “imonitor.obj”.

I don’t get the REPLACE MODEL option in the Shadow Caster layer. I don’t think the GPU is the problem because I’m able to replace the iMonitor.obj model. Am I right?
I have the GeForce GT 720 and it’s not in the list.
Can you share with me a screen capture of what you see inside element 3d, maybe I could come up with whats going on.

i tried with CS6 and CC2018 element 2.2 and not shows monitor and also shows an error to contact copilot…i import only obj to new project and works…element 3D

Hi, first, i have no folders tutorial said.. i have one called “iDisplay Web Promo” so i can replace the idisplay obj successfull but not Shadow Catcher… it also displays red in element 3D scene setup… when i return to after main screen, I tested in both environments and get again contact copilot…..error: I have a HP Omen with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 Gb or Memory and intel i7-7700 HQ with 16 Gb Ram in Windows 10 Home single language….with after effects CC2018….. Second environment is windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, AE CS6 with 8 Gb RAMand NVidia GeForce GTX660 with 4 Gb of memory…also same error both environments works with element 3D v2.2 and i test isolated your idisplay model in new project and works perfect… is not the model.. its the project…. looking forward hearing from you

Hi Carlos, I just downloaded from videohive the “videohive-19877385-idisplay-web-promo.zip” and I can clearly see the “Tutorial” folder which includes 3 .mp4 video tutorial files! So what I am guessing is a faulty download. So I suggest to re-download the .zip file again and be sure that yhis .zip file includes 3x folders (Tutorial, IDisplay Web Promo, and font) as well as the .aep file.
P.S. Your computer seems to be OK!

the problem is not Tutorial… i already follow tutorials and your video tutorial has no the IDisplay Web Promo folder.. said another.. so i download all project, the problem is not with the tutorial is with the project

Shadows have two options in the main controls that maybe solution : shadow opacity and a checkbox called render / preview quality Hope this helps
Hi there! I have a question regarding exporting. Looks like the remaining export time is more than 4 hours. And that’s for 1 min video. Do you know any way to export a good quality video throw Adobe Video Encoder but a bit quicker? Thanks, Valery
Unfortunately element 3d counts on your GPU and not on the CPU! So it seems like you have a “weak” GPU! A good idea would be render a preview video first to avoid rendering 2 times. You can use the preview checkbox I have included in the main controls for quick render.
Hi! That’s a great theme. Absolutely beautiful! One question. Is it possible to make the MAC screen brighter? It’s too dull for some reason.
ΗI, find the E3D layer and double click the E3D plugin. Use the settings parameters to fine tune the desired look. In the E3D plugin window select the screen layer from the top right. The Illumination parameters maybe need to adjust.

Every scene setup is composed of some layers ( text, lights, camera etc) one of them is called element 3d layer or E3D. Select that layer and you will see the E3D effect applied there you will find all the settings affecting quality and appearance. Before editing the illumination as described in the previous try the light position / rotation inside the E3D settings (be patient to discover that E3D has a lot of parameters listed there.

Where is the Studio.png file? Following tutorial and its asking to locate missing files and I don’t have studio.png and it looks very flat and grey. It looks very dull.. nothing like promo.
Hi, studio.png file should be the reflection map included in the E3D installation that’s why it is not mentioned in the video tutorial and that’s also the reason you get this flat look! Chances are the your installation process skipped the reflection maps! A way out should be to search and locate that png on your system.If you find it place it as described in the video tutorial (for the model) to user(you) / documents & settings / video-copilot /maps or reflection maps. Otherwise reinstall the E3D plugin.

Hi Teddyta, glad to hear you like the idisplay template, actually there is a way to go faster!!! I have included a custom checkbox in the controls layer to enable “preview mode” so that you can work at least 2 times faster and when you are ready uncheck and render using the default high render settings. More details in tutorial included in .zip file

There is a “device logo” comp. Find that comp and uncheck the visibility for the envato logo used as a sample. Thanks

Unfortunately yes you Mast have Element 3d v2.2 but the good news is that you create affect/create your custom moves/keyframes inside after effects!!!

Hi there, of course you can do that !! You may also customize the keyframes so that you can have your own unique moves too! (Position, rotation etc)
