Hi! I have a question about the functionality. I need to have a spinning globe that “sticky” markers will drop down from the top of the screen and stick to locations while the globe spins and stay there while it continues to rotate. Can this do that?

Yes, very much like that. I used the pins on the one I was making. Here’s a link to the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P0Si4-xRi2IbD0B_fqfHAAcLkJhuGF75/view?usp=sharing It’s not complete yet, but what you were showing in the video sample is exactly what I’m looking to do, with the markers staying in place as the globe spins.
By the way, thank you for your quick response. I’m still learning After Effects, so I’m no where close to being a master yet, but I am having a great time learning and projects like yours make learning a lot of fun!

I just used the Globe Map with the targeted locations by coordinates.
How did you get the markers to fly in and stick like that? Do you have to use a certain marker style or can it be done with any marker?
Select Pin layer. Open Effect Controls panel. You can fly the pin by adjusting the radius. If you select the “Flat” checkbox option when adding the pins, it will look nicer.

In one of the tutorials, you show lines connecting locations. Can you add your own custom line style?
Yes, You can do it by editing any line composition.

Hi,
I’m having issues with creating lines in the project. I’ve selected the layers I want to draw lines from within the “Globe Map” composition. (The anchor points of these layers were altered after they were imported from the coordinates map as they were placed in the wrong locations even though the coordinates were correct). So when I selected the layers I also selected the “Selected Layers” box along with “Other->A” and this creates the lines which can only be seen within the “Globe Elements” composition but doesn’t appear in the main composition “Globe Map”.
Can you explain where I’m going wrong? Thanks
