Yes. You probobly use an non english version of Ae. You can ether install the english version or you can try some cool trick. Go to my portfolio here on videohive and find my project named Ambrosia. Then open the comment page for that project and between other comments find discusion about this problem. There is explained how to trick non english version to be opened as english without installing it. I hope this was helpful

Yes, but it cant be picture, for example square, because logo it will not appear, just rust square will be seen. Logo must have shape, it can be picture but with alpha, so the final image can be seen as logo shape with this nice rust look.

You probably have some quicktime mp4 codec issue on your mashine. Prerender smoke.mov into some other format (use adobe encoder or some other encoding program) and then replace the original movie inside ae with new prerender one.
