I don’t believe there is an error. It appears to be due to how the latest version of AfterEffects (CC 2017) renders the layers in various modes. The content is there, users just need to change some settings (see above) to reveal it. I’m running the latest versions of both products without errors. This issue is specific to the file and layer mode settings.
