Is it possible to extend the length of a placeholder to 2-3 minutes?

Hello, I purchased the “Digital Slideshow” Saturday. I downloaded the files but nothing shows up when I put it into Ae or Pr. I have the latest versions of each. I also did a dynamic link between Ae and Pr. The sequence symbols show up on the timeline, but everything is black. My thought when I purchased this was that all I had to do was go in, adjust the text, replace the image/video, and remove the sequences that I didn’t need. Was I wrong? I do not have a great deal of experience with templates. I really need for this to work. Can you help?
