I’m trying to edit the “full time scoreboard”. I’ve added some more “back_player” in case there are more scorers, but I cant type text into them. When I try to copy the textlayer with a scorer and move it to the new “back_player”, the text doesn’t show. Please help me

Hi, I need to know how much editable this is since Im going to use it for another sport. Can I change the background images? Can I delete the clock from the game score? Can I choose the amount of lines of information?

Beside a few elements from the opening (the ball and fire effects) which are pre-rendered, everything else is editable in After Effects and everything can be changed including the background images and all the graphic elements and information. Yes I run a spanish version of AE. It has something to do with the “Slider Control” effect. The error says the same I told you in Spanish: “Advertencia de After Effects: Expresión desactivada. Error en la linea 1 de la propiedad rotacion X de capa 10 (“Back_Reporter Name”) de composición “Composition 1”. El efecto denominado “Slider Control” falta o no existe. Puede que su nombre haya cambiado, que se haya movido o eliminado o que el nombre no se haya escrito bien”. Thanks! I can send you a screen shot if needed.

Also the COLOR CONTROl and IN and OUT are not working. And I find out I dont have the adobe brigde, I dont know if thats gonna cause any problems with the rendering.

I am using Pinnacle Studio for my video editing. One final question – does this require After Effects to work or can I do the editing withing Pinnacle?

Hi! I’m trying to create a score bug that goes from 00:00 all the way up to 99:59, but the time always resets at 59:59. Is there a way to program a clock to go through the whole game instead of having two 45 minute halves?

To keep the clock running, In “Score bug + Added Time” composition, you’ll have to change the minute line (in Source Text expression) of the text layer (the 6th one from top) from “min = Math.floor((t%3600)/60);” to “min = Math.floor(time/60);” Please let me know how it works. Thanks.

Hi, after using the project flawlessly on a PC now I’m trying to open it on a MAC with the latest version of AE (CC 2017) and I get the following warning: “This project has expression errors” (...) the effect “Slider Control” is missing. Maybe its name has changed or moved or deleted or not written correctly”. This happens in every expression that has slider control applied. For instance: pct = thisComp.layer(“IN/OUT Controller”).effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”); nominalDur = 1; // duration of animation valueAtTime(nominalDur*pct/100). Any ideas??? Thank you very much.

hi, 4 years ago i bought the broadcast design package. i am using it to edit homevideos of my children. there are numerous effects that i cannot use because the program goes extremly slow, the slowest is “main composition” and “transition” when i do the render it can take up to 4 hours. I am using a mac early 2011, the grafic card is amd radeon hd 6970m 2048 mb. Any ideas of how i can speed it up, or as why it is going so slow. thanks in advance Jose.

The render time depends on many factors. These include your computer specs, but also After Effects settings, the compression (codec) that you use, the resolution you use for output, and so on.
Here are some thoughts for improvement:
- Times for the very same composition rendered to different formats can be very different. I would always recommend rendering a master version and then using that to later create a compressed or smaller version for internet (if that’s your intention). This allows you to play around and find the optimal compression settings without having to go through the whole render process every time. I’d recommend you to use TGA image sequence, because is lossless and the render is faster. Once you have the image sequence, you can easily make your final output to Quicktime movie with any compression.
- The render time could also be improved in After Effects settings. How much RAM you reserved for other applications(in After Effects Preferences -> Memory and Multiprocessing)? Probably the system runs out of ram, and start disk caching, which can really slow things down. I recommend leaving a quarter of your total RAM free for other applications.
- Another thing would be to move your disk cache off of your system drive. In Preferences -> Media & Disk Cache -> Disk Cache, change from default to a fast drive (SSD if possible).
- If you have Open GL enabled for rendering, turn it off. Open GL may be great for other apps, but it’s pretty useless in AE.
-You could also speed up the render by activating Multiprocessing preferences.
