Hi, I loved this pack and bought it only to find it is not for Final Cut Pro. Could I please get a refund because I cannot use it? I am new to the hive, and I need to be more careful with my search. I wish this was available for FCP.

I think you should be able to make them work in FCP too (it will require some extra work though).
In the “Sources” folder you will find a video file for every item. If you import for example “Arrow_Down_MM_1.mov” in FCP you will see that the colors of the icon are represented by red, green, (and blue). I’m not familiar with FCP, but you should be able to isolate (key) these colors as masks and change them to whatever color you like. Next you’ll need to cut the item animations (to appear, loop, idle … end, etc so you can combine them later).

I’m trying to change the head colors on the “person” composition. I change the color in the effects controls panel, but the colors don’t change on the canvas. the body colors will change, but no the head colors.

Looks like there is a problem with the color controls for the man and woman heads.
I’ll upload a fix. Meanwhile you can change the colors by searching for “Head_Man” and “Head_Woman” compositions in the Project panel. Open it and select one of the “Color” layers. Now you can change the color in the Effect Controls panel.

Hi. How do I change the background to transparent instead of black? Right now it’s exporting with a black background. When I go in “Composition Settings” to “Background Color,” it only gives me the option of selecting another opaque color. I’d like to preserve the transparency. Pardon the question, I’m an AE newbie
Nevermind, I figured it out. I had to select RGB+Alpha. All good now!

You can change the color control (Color_4) to some neutral color similar to your background, for example white. Then you can keyframe it and change it to yellow in the moment you want to be switched on.
I played with it a little and I added a glow effect and controls for the light and glow opacity. If you like you can contact me via my profile page and I’ll send you the new version

I purchased this package earlier today. After downloading, I discovered all the .mov files are corrupt. I’ve tried to re-download and reboot my PC, but nothing makes it able to open the files. Is there anyway I could get access to a working version? Or receive a refund as these are unusable at the time being.

Great package! One question: is it possible to scale the icons? I want the monitor icon with placeholder to be larger, without being unsharp. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately you wont be able to scale them more than the maximum size 1024×1024 without losing quality.
Is it possible to change every single color to any color value? Or i can only change the hue of the colour?
Yes, you can change the icons colors to any color with the custom controls. Have a look at the beginning of preview video where the colors of the padlock are changing. It takes the exact color you choose from the controls.

Unfortunately I wont be able to modify the animations. The icons are based on pre-rendered 3D footage and it will require to rebuild the AE project.

Hi – question for you…if I want to use the same icon (i.e. ‘monitor’) multiple times within the same animation, how can I ensure that it doesn’t copy across the settings from the first?
For example, if I want two ‘monitors’ on the screen, how can I make it so that both have different images in as placeholders. I have tried duplicating the icon in the Project Bar, but it always copies across settings from the original icon.
Grateful for your advice.
Try this:
Open Icons_And_Elements.aep and in the project panel delete all folders except the Monitor folder.
Save the project as Monitor.aep
Now import Monitor.aep in your project. For every new monitor you need just import the file again instead of duplicating the folder.

One last question, if you don’t mind Is there anyway to change the placeholder in an icon over time? For example, if I have the tablet icon onscreen and I want it to have two placeholder images, swapping half-way through the animation, is that possible?
When I try to do that now, by altering the in-out point of the placeholder image within the icon pre comp, the actual timing effect back in the composition is unpredictable.
Grateful for your advice. Amazing work, by the way. Leaps ahead of anything else.
And can I put in my vote for future icons:
1. Computer virus 2. Computer server 3. Laptop 4. Mobile tower 5. Satellite 6. Email 7. Missile
Unfortunately animation inside the placeholders is not supported.
But I have an idea for your case.
- Import 2 tablet icons (the same way you did with the monitors) and place your 2 different images in the placeholders of the first and second tablet icon.
- You can use the moment in the “Rotate” animation where the tablet spins very fast and switch between the two main compositions of the tablet icons. Now when the tablet rotates it will change it’s content form the first image to the second and so forth.

Things like mortar & pestel, pharmacist, prescription bottle, prescription pill, that kind of stuff. Any chance you’ll ever add those in future? If so I will definitely buy !

Hi Sai,
there is one project file “Icons_And_Elements.aep” that contains all the icons. Just import it in your project using “File ? Import ? File…”, choose the icon you need and drag and drop its composition in your project. There is also a PDF documentation included that explains how to change the colors of the icons and rearrange the animations.
