and where should I move “models” folder to? there is no tutorial for window.
This template needs the “element 3d” plugin to work. You can purchase it from videocopilot.net.
It’s not available to use on a window desktop? I already bought it. It doesn’t contain tutorials for window users.
I really understand your position, unfortunately all authors use their own computers to record the video tutorials. I am definitely sure Mac and Widows After Effects is 99% similar. In case you find yourself in that 1% I would be more than happy to help you.
what..? I mean… in your project, there is no tutorial for window user. For example, first video tutorial in your project said that I have to move “models” folder to video copilot. But it’s based on Mac. I use window and I don’t see video copilot folder anywhere.
It’s not a Mac/windows thing! This folder is available only when E3D plugin is installed! E3D plugin might be the only way to work 3D in after effects in keyframe level. Looks like you haven’t read the description page carefully.
Hi there I am not seeing the MODELS folder in the video copilot. Is there somewhere else the doc/videocopilot would be?
Look for the documents and settings folder, alternatively use the system search command.
This so frustrating. I have AE 25.5.0 for Mac. I’ve got the latest Element plugin V2.2.3. Specifically the laptop models for no rhyme or reason start appearing disconnected. Meaning the keyboard and screen are separated on opposite sides of the screen. I’ve got one laptop model that’s looks as it should then any new one I add they are as explained above. I’ve tried starting over creating a completely new AE project with things working and then for no apparent reason adding any of the laptop models it happens again. I’ve used this mockup builder before recently ( 2 weeks ago) on another project and it worked great. Now I am under a deadline for another project due and I can’t figure this out??? Need help!

When I load a laptop element, the screen is disconnected from the device in Element. Any reason why this will happen? Running latest versions ons AE, Element and 3D-Mockup.

I reduced my project and that seems to have fixed the issue. Thank you for the quick reply.
Hi, i just bought it, but I only get black screens animating – No devices (3D models). It’s probably because I haven’t done this before, but I did follow the installation instructions and I can see the Premium Builder window with contents.
Looks like you haven’t install correctly or at all the Element 3D plugin! This template, as its clearly stated in description page needs the E3D plugin from video copilot.

The VideoCopilot E3D plugin is installed and I have the VideoCopilot option in the effects menu. I followed your ZXP-installation and then video tutorials 1-7, except I started with double-clicking on the Mixed_08 mockup to add it to the project and then hit play to watch it. I get the black screen (device screen content) animating with shadows and reflections but no devices.
I’m running Catalina 10.15.7 on a MBP 2018, 2,9GHZ/i9/32GB/Pro Vega 20
Looks like you are nearly there. Make sure you have installed the 3D models. There is dedicated video tutorial for the model installation. You could double check that -> go inside E3D plugin and look closely if there are missing models -> the models names (text) are in red color. Last but not least check whether you are in the newest E3D version.
Yes, I installed the models folder as you instructed in video no 1 (Documents –> VideoCopilot –> Models).
In the right corner in the E3D Scene Setup window it says: ”Element 2.2.2”

Hi, I spoke to Video Copilot and there was an update to Element 2.2.3. I have installed it and Element works – but still no rendering of devices.
When I run the ”Mixed-15.aep” I get the following:
Tablet screen with the the ”App Screen” text reflections or shadows. Smartphone screen all black (no text) but with reflections or shadows . Desktop no screen at all and no reflections or shadows.
And no of the 3D devices show.
!!! SOLVED IT !!!
My bad (as I suspected).
It was the path in the VideoCopilot folder.
The folder already has a ”Models”-folder so I put the files directly in the folder WHEN I should have put your ”Models”-folder in the exiting ”Models”-folder. So the right path is:
VideoCopilot -> Models -> Models -> your assets.

Hello. Is this mockup buildier includes 3d models of textured smartphones, laptops that i can customise in Element 3d plugin in After Effects? Or it is just a video template in which i can replace only the screen?
Its an E3D template meaning that you could animate and edit the scenes in inside the E3D plugin. No pretenders
This looks like a great product which would help my workflow for product based clients. My question is on Device updates, do you provide free template updates or will I have to purchase a new version next year?

Thanks Thiago! Updates are always free but it’s rather difficult to make early plans. For example a new really similar template just released including android devices, check here: https://videohive.net/?auto_signin=true this could have been an update for 3D mock-up builder but ended as separate.
Thank you for the quick reply, The Android version is also incredible. Let me rephrase my question, sorry for the confusion. With the 3D Mock-Up Builder being mostly focused on apple products. If Apple has a new design on their phone next year will that be a free device update on 3D Mock-Up Builder? Or if the Android Mock-Up Builder next year’s devices are different, will that be a free update. I ask this because if the devices won’t be a free update, it becomes like having a subscription.

Comprehensive After Effect templates. So many prebuilt devices and scenes. Saved me so much work on my project. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking to use computers, tablets or smartphones in your projects.
