Yes but keep in mind that you cannot exceed with the zoom level or the image quality of the earth map will be bad, so if these places are very closed, the connection lines will be short. In the video preview of this template you can see the maximum zoom layer that you can achieve without losing the quality

Please fix the location finder
Hello, the location finder works (just tested), so:
1 – make sure to use the latest version of 3D Earth Connection
2 – Check your firewall
3 – If you can’t fix it, just manually type the coordinates of your location in the corresponding latitude and longitude fields, as explained in the video tutorial.

Hi there. I absolutely love this product and I’m buying v2 after enjoying the results I achieved for a project in v1. Overall everything is excellent, but I’m experiencing some flickering with different layers of the earth both in preview and upon export. For example, the city lights are disappearing and then reappearing. And there are a couple of frames in the middle of my animation where the diffuse layer disappears. Have you encountered this error before?

Hi, The first time I used the plugin it worked. So I used it in a storyboard for a client. Now I have a go and need to strart animating it doesn’t find any locations any more. Any suggestions?

Hello Joris I’ve just tested the script and the geocoding server works returning the list of locations. It looks very strange…maybe you have some firewall that blocks these outgoing requests from After Effects but it is difficult for me identify your problem. I’m sure that if you’re not using the latest version released on June 2023 you could have problems with the search. However, remember that you can use the script as well, so instead of typing the city, you can simply manually type its coordinates into the latitude and longitude fields as explained in the video tutorial. You can easily retrieve the coordinates from google maps or www.latlong.net

Would this template also cover cities within Scotland and territories in the UK?
Hello, yes the template uses a geocoding service to find the exact coordinates of a place (it works like the Google search) and then a locator will be placed on that point. However keep in mind that the zoom level is limited so you can’t get a closed view of a geographical area, for example to see roads or houses roofs. The globe uses a static earth map so if you exceed with the zoom level, the map image resolution will loose the details. Thanks

I even bought a NASA world map, doubled the resolution of your 6K Earth Map and overlaid my double-res version, but the Normal map, clouds, and citiy lights then all pixelate…
Hello I’m sorry for that but as I wrote you in the previous message, this template uses a static map texture and so you cannot exceed with the zoom level. If you replaced the standard 6k map image with your own 12k map you should also replace the clouds and city lights images with maps with higher resolution otherwise they will look pixelated. Maybe if I just double the resolution of the cloud layer and then tile the existing texture whenever I’m close enough to not see the tile lines.

nothing happens when i enter the location. i am working on a deadline project a little frustrated with the project

I bought this product last year, just I open it, it shows me white background and asked me to use AE 15.1.2 versions, please I need help on this
It doesn’t ask you to use AE 15.1.2, it just informs you that the project has been created with that version. Just press OK (you can use any version from cc2018 and above) the white background could be caused by the vcOrb plugin. Did you install it on your current AE version?

It means that you didn’t install vcOrb properly
