In your current project go to File->Import->File… and import Bobby_DIY_Pack.aep file. Rename the new folder to “Bobby_Cook_Hat”. Now in this folder change Bobby’s hat to cook hat and when you need an animation with cook hat use one from this folder. Repeat the same steps if you need to mix more accessories in one project.(you need to import the project, duplicating it in the project panel won’t work)

Currently there is no control for changing the text bubbles color. You need to do it manually. Here is how:
For the speech bubble under Solids folder select Color6. From the main menu choose Layer -> Solid Settings… and change the color. For the thinkig bubble there is an extra step you need to do. In the Project panel search field type “Main_Animation” open the one that’s under Thinking_Bubble_Other and to change the color apply a Fill effect to the first layer Shape Layer 1.

The After Effects project file (aep) and all folders and files from the zip archive should be in the same directory. This way After Effects will find all needed files automatically.
Just make a new folder somewhere and extract the zip archive I’ve downloaded inside. (don’t try to start it directly from the zip archive).
Now open “Bobby_DIY_Pack.aep”.
That should do it. Let me know how it went.

I decided to try a different app do unzip the folder…and now..it works properly!!! many thanks!!!!! (now I have to learn better how to use AE!! ) bye!

It’s strange, no one has reported such a problem so far, but I have a few suggestions.
- Before you render the file, make sure that the Frame Rate is set to 24 in mp4 Format Options.
- You can try to render it as a JPEG sequence first, than import it back and render the sequence as mp4.
- Double check if the compositions you’ve created are in 24 fps.
I think it has something to do with the frame rate or the format.

All Sorted. It was a problem with my After Effects. For the record, my firewall was blocking TCP communication between AE and QT32. Awesome job. Well done for this service!

I have another question. Is the first animation in you promotion video inside the pack? (the one where Bobby looks in from the side of the screen/falls)..

Just go to your download section and download the file again. I updated the project about a week ago and now there is a folder “SoundFX”. It contains sound effects from the other Bobby projects.

the DIY pack is modular. It contains different animations that can all be combined with each other to create a custom story. This makes it more flexible. You can arrange your scenes your own way using the provided animations and for example you can create something very short if your time is restricted, or a very long story if you have many things to present. On the other hand the projects like “Bobby Makes Things Grow” and “Bobby promotes” 1 and 2 are more complete and ready to go. By this I mean the animations are specifically made for the story, the sound FX and music fit perfectly and the only thing you need to do is to add your content, change the colors of the elements you like and render your video. Very easy to customize even for people that are just starting with After Effects.
