Hello there, seems to be a pretty useful tool, but from the comments I don’t see updates since three years ago. Is this tool outdated and abanded? Are the CC issues solved at this moment? Planing to use it in last CC suite and I am worried of being not able to use it. Is it updated for universal expressions? I don’t see author answers to some problems from the users, but I hope mine to be answered. thanks in advance

Hey James, Im using a Imac I purchased your effect recently. I installed the preset where you said it should be installed. I cannot find PresetEffects.xml on this mac i’m using AE CS6. Do you have instructions for the error fix in a mac version?

Doesn’t work in CC2015 (and also CC2014) After installation I get the Message “Installation of the project is not required for AE version 12.1 and higher”. When I try to use the preset it doesn’t work. A big message appears that says there is a problem with the property or method “softness”. Any idea? Any solution for that issue?

I’ve not encountered that error, I’m guessing it might be a problem with expression universalization (English to German), which I’ll need to look into for later versions.

You don’t need to run the installation script if you’re on after effects version 12.1 or higher. I’ve also updated the script which you can download if you’re still having trouble with installation.
Hi James The plugin works for me..until I try to render. The problem is that to get the right effects on a 1920×1080 frame (quite long shadow but soft at the same time) you have to use the softness multiplier option which doesn’t allow to render. Each time I get a “not enough memory to render” sign and I’m running this on quite a strong machine with 16GB of RAM. I suppose the construction of the preset causes AE to use a great amount of memory when using the “multiplier” options. Are you aware of this issue? Of course everything is fine and renders easily with low quality shadows, shorter ones and basically all that don’t need using “softness multiplier” in order to look good.
Hi Kabed. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble. My machine has 64gb of ram so I haven’t experienced that issue. Have you tried using the lower sample versions? (MQ and LQ).
