First, try it as standalone script, not installed panel (via Run Script command). Second, try it on English version of AE, because localization may be a problem. Third, ask me the version with some optional fixes by email.

Прежде всего, проверьте, не подходит ли ваша проблема под одно из описаний из следующего списка.
Известные причины неработоспособности скрипта:
Невозможность запуска в режиме панели на некоторых версиях Windows, – запускайте через меню Run Script. Локализация АЕ, отличная от английской, – по возможности, проверьте работу скрипта на англоязычной, сообщите о результате. Смещение объектов в результате применения скрипта к слоям с измененными параметрами transform, – используйте прекомпоз. Неверное использование инструментов CloneStump, – источником должен быть слой, отличный от анимируемого с включенным PainOnTransparent.
Если ни одна из причин не подходит, пожалуйста, сообщите точный номер версии сборки и языковой пакет вашего АЕ, версию операционной системы, а также способ запуска скрипта – панель или через меню. Подробно опишите симптомы, “не работает” – понятие широкое. Пришлите небольшой тестовый кусочек вашего проекта, к которому вы применяете скрипт – версию до и после работы скрипта.

Your precompose must have default transform parameters for handle with script (although you can do anything inside) and unchecked CollapseTransformations flag.

Any error appears? First, try it as standalone script, not installed panel (via Run Script command). Second, try it on English version of AE. Also I do not test it on CC2015, so you can try earlier versions and combinations of proposed options. I will try to make something in the near future.
hi, thanks for your answer, but via script command its also stuck ( at calculating 1/1 ). i dont have any other language or older ae versions. although i need the video this evening so i guess that i do the animation with the built-in tools

I can try to fix smth if you send me initial version of your test project, its version after the script work and information about your operation system and version of AE. Previous customer does not do it so I did not have the possibility to find bug.

Hi. My first guess is that the problem is in localization of your AE version. I beg your pardon but I think I did not care about it. But it is correctable. If I am right please let me know (all you need is to check the script functionality on native En localized AE). Then I will try to fix this issue as soon as it possible.

Hi, loving this extension, it really speeds up the workflow for drawing animations.
I am having an issue though. I had gotten it to work a few times, however, now when I try to reveal parts of an image by doing the clone stamp technique on a black solid over the precomposed image, the ghosted image that the clone stamp tool has me tracing is much larger and out of place from where I have the pre comp placed in my composition (I hope that made sense). I think the image may be appearing at the size I first placed it at rather than the size I have since scaled it to, but I thought precomposing was supposed to take care of that issue and it has not.
I can get the script to trace the image just fine, the issue is just that the image I’m tracing is not placed or scaled correctly on the black solid the way I have it placed in the main composition. I have watched the tutorial video repeatedly and am not sure where I’m going wrong.

I think you change default transform parameters of reference precompose before runnig script. But you should not do it. The reference must have default scale and position for handle with script (although you can do anything inside) and unchecked CollapseTransformations flag. After script work you can use whole handled result scene as precompose for another scene and place it as you wish.
I like this extension very much and I have really fun to work with it.
But I have to use it in my old After Effects CS 5.5.
I’m working usually in After Effects CC 13.5.0.347. But there nothing happens when I klick on the “Apply” Button. Will there be an update in the near future?

Dear dtdt-works. I have an important question please.
When having created one animation with the script using the clone stamp.
How do make another brush drawing on top of that one so that I can draw more objects on top of the original? I.e. 2 layers. Please help asap. Love the script!
What I mean is how to use the script again to do a new drawing on top of the first drawing. I hope you know what I mean. Basically let us say the first drawing is a house. next we want to draw a person in the house, on top of the original drawing. How do we pre-comp or setup layers to allow not starting on a white blank page but on top a drawing?
Now you have to draw at once all you want to see on a one layer. The script does not understand additional drawing and will work with full stack of drawn paths.
If you need to separate one object from another you can draw on a different layers and then apply script to each of them. So you get separate null for each object. Also you can precompose each of this pairs of course.
Then you can connect the position of some footage like a pen to position of each of nulls sequentially with a simple expression depending on time for example.

I need to draw a new image on an image instead of drawing it on a white canvas, I understand the script only works on one white solid that is being removed with the clone stamp but there must be a way to then somehow draw another image on top of that one (not with the script itself).
Like if the 1st animation draws a face. Then the 2nd animation draws the mouth. How can that be done please? (after using the script).
You can set ‘Paint on transparent’ option on Paint effect in the Effect Controls panel after script work. So you will be able to combine different layers with alpha-channel.
Or you can use any type of Blend Mode for this.
Also you can precompose first object then open it in a Layer panel and draw over the second one in the same manner.
This script saved my life. Although not completely implemented for Adobe AE CC 2014 as a dockable panel, just run the script and a neat little detached dialog box appears. If you need a write on effect, this is the script for you. Best $16 I’ve ever spent in my long career. Thanks dtdt-works!

I’m sorry but demo project is not ready for sale. It seems there are lost footages in it today. Moreover it uses some plugins and fonts you must to buy. So it will be ‘naked’ and will contain a lot of garbage and color bars.

Hi. I apparently need some help with this. I have installed the script into my script folder and the script window comes up in AE. If I do a simple drawing (like a circle) on a solid using the brush tool, then apply the script – it does nothing. Am I missing anything? Tried both AE 2014 and CC. Thanks.

Ok. Will do. I just had success running the script in AE 6 however just not CC or CC 2014.
Yes, I found an issue with access to windows.update() function from scripts working as a dockable panel in CC environment (perhaps only in Windows). I can offer to disable progressbar for CC versions in the next script release as temporarily solution. But more useful for you will be to use it directly with “Run Script” command up to Adobe fix this issue because script works correctly as a floating panel.

Hey i purchased this as it seemed easy to work .. I dont know what i am doing wrong .. I am able to pre-compose and draw lines over text and images .. when i apply the script it works fine.. but when i preview – it shows me only the awful Lines i draw not not the original font/text.. How do i hide those brush lines i made and make the Real Text/Images Appear ?
Tutorial Video is also very fast and little blurry ..

Thank you for your purchase! I guess that you just use Brush tool instead Clone Stamp. If you want work with ready images and text you have to use Clone Stamp. If my assumption is wrong you can send me project with small example of your problem so that I could help you more constructively.
still did’t work for me .. Do you have skype or any support email i can send the project to ? It seems like I am missing some step in between ?to hide the Brush strokes and Appear the Original .. rest seems to work fine . I even tried to minimise the main text opacity and then only i am able to see the lines i am drawing … but still it shows everything and does ‘t draw or animate as it is suppose to ..
