Hi Lasse,

you can use any font you like, but the 3d look gets added by the template. So it is best you input a 2d text or logo.

If you insert an already extruded 3d text there, the other 3d effects get applied on top of it and it will look strange most probably

But you are not really limited to the examples I used, if you have some nice texture you want to use you can put them in the texture comps. The videotutorial shows you how to change the textures. Also I added controls to change the 3d extrusion depth.
