hello, i love the flags but am having a problem with the file. after effects crashes every time i try to get the missing flags back from the files. are you able to make the file for me the one you have in the trailer , the one with depth.

there is no error message that comes up, my whole pc crashes only when i open this file. never happens with any other AE file. and only after i link back the flags
You can try to relink them one by one manually. Or just the one you need. When you open a template in AE, press “No” on a question to relink them all. If this step wont help, email me on my email. I’ll do my best to help you out
Is there any way I can edit the torn flag to NOT have holes in it?

Unfortunately no. This is how 3D model was designed and there is no “without hole” version.
My down load is missing “flag_slow213.obj” is there anyway you can send me that .obj?

Is there a way to use the replicator functionality within Element to multiply the number of flags?
I can do it the the poles and flags separately, but they aren’t linked.
That’s because Flags and Poles are separate 3d models. Element 3D doesn’t allow to replicate different models group. You can replicate them separately and after that adjust position\rotation separately too, to achieve the result you’re looking for… I think that’s the only option.
Thanks for the reply. That’s what I thought. One more question … if I want a scene featuring multiple different (country) flags, I have to create a different texture comp for every flag … and then nest it within that comp? Does that sound right?
Yes, exactly. Duplicate texture comp in project panel, drop it on timeline and add it to “Custom layers” in Element 3D – Custom layers.

One more question … you’ve been great in responding … how do I slow down the flag movement while maintaining the resolution?
You can try native Element 3D Playback Speed setting for it. Group 1-> Particle Look -> Baked Animation -> Playback Speed.
Anyway this is 25fps animation, like a video footage You can’t slow it down and keep previous quality. Unless you’re PRO in some of 3D modelling softwares.
And one more question … the project has been working fine (it’s crashed a couple of times during rendering) … up until today … now rendering, or just playing back, the animation is crashing After Effects … I get an error message along the lines of not being able to invoke the plug-in Element … AE is up to date … Element is up to date … any ideas?

The flags look great, but it’s crashing on me every time I attempt a render. I even attempted to render out a tiff sequence and re-render past problem areas but this isn’t even working. At the moment this is only working to pull still from for me. Any ideas? Thanks.
After Effects CS6 Element 3D V1.6.1
Updated Element to V1.6.2 and still crashing.
Have you tried to disable SSAO, Motion blur, Depth of field? Do you have same problems with other Element3D tempplates/Models? I just tried to render out Flags template on 2 PC’s with Element V1.6.2 and everything is OK. No Errors…
Try to turn off multiprocessing by the way.
My AE (CS6) crashes after I relink all the items. Any solutions?
It seems that relinking the C4D files causes my AE to crash. Please advise, thanks!
Try to delete c4d files only and then skip relinking them. If AE will load fine, then i’ll convert c4d files to smth more friendly for you.

OK Soled it too. note to yourself – when you relink the tow missing objecets, uncheak the last option “relink missing only” !

Hello! This is something wrong with your Element3D. Because this file isn’t in the templates package.

Adobe CS5.5 Having great problems downloading (3 or 4 times). Either I get Either the file is not confirmed so it will not open 465 mb or when it does open in After Effects keeps asking me to relink files which are not there. Ahhhg
If Element3D asking to relink files, just select folder where the project is. It will find everything automatically.

Yes, absolutely any picture or video. Theoretically even with alpha channel, but I didn’t test it…
