Why can not I add a background image in the project? whenever I try, I get an crash 
Yes, there is a problem. It appears that with “shy layers” turned on, you cannot place an image to background. To fix that, you should turn off “shy layers”, just one click here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10438344/shylayers.png and it will show all the hidden layers, and then you are able to add any layers without a crash. Sorry for this little bug)

Is it possible to tone down some highlight effects on the logo?
Well, I’m not really shure I provided such option. Maybe you’d have to edit your logo before inserting it into project. Anyway, please contact me through profile page, maybe if I could see your particular logo, I could help.

Is it possible to change the background color from primarily black to white?
Well, yes, now it is possible! (I made it easy to customize) I’ve modified the project and uploaded a new version. Waiting for approval right now, guess soon it will be available
