i am using Adobe Premier CS5 you cannot open a mov file you can only import it.
Yes, correct. Import background and birds and just place birds on top of the background.

How do you edit the files? The background in the demo is transparent when playing the movie it is black.

Bird files are in PNG + alfa mov format. If you play bird.mov files alone you may black background (depend on video player). But when you open it in video editing software like Adobe Premier you can use transparency chanel. Just put provided in the package clouds background or any oher background you need on the one layer and then put birds on other layers on top of background layer and you will see that bird files have transparent background.
